Godblessourhome Posted September 19 #1 Share Posted September 19 If I still have balance of OBR in my onboard account at the end of my cruise, can I get the balance back, as cash, at Guest Service a day before my cruise? It has been a while since the last time when I cruise with X. Thank you for helping me out and share your experience!!
omeinv Posted September 19 #2 Share Posted September 19 No. You can draw chips from the casino, with a 5% fee, then turn them in for cash. However, remaining refundable on-board credit (OBR) will be credited back to the credit card on file. Harris Denver, CO

Kitekat Posted September 19 #4 Share Posted September 19 If this is refundable OBC then it can be possible to get a refund in cash at the end of the cruise. (We have often 'bought' OBC 'Gifts by Celebrity' if the rate is good). If the following process is still allowed, and bear in mind, we have not tried this recently, you should convert your account from card to cash at the end of the cruise. You can then close the account and withdraw the remaining monies in cash.

If its refundable it will be credited back to the credit card X has on file for you at the end of the cruise. No action needed it will done automatically. If it's non refundable use it or lose it. If you really can't think of a way to use it get a form from Guest Relations and gift the money as extra tips.
Arizona Wildcat Posted September 19 #6 Share Posted September 19 Obviously the OP meant the last day of his cruise for getting OBCR refunded in cash. The answer to that is simple. Yes

jelayne Posted September 19 #9 Share Posted September 19 We have gotten our refundable OBC on the last evening in cash from Guest Services. We have not gotten before the last evening.
miched Posted September 19 #10 Share Posted September 19 During the first few days of the cruise go to GR and ask for a printout of your folio. Then using the printout have them show you what is refundable and not refundable. Then ask what happens to the refundable if you don’t use it. It is best to find out from those in charge and before the end of the cruise at the last minute so you have a chance to use it. The casino may be very crowded on the last night as passengers will be trying to use their NR OBC and the machines you may want to play will be occupied. We play VP and try to use ours during the earlier part of the cruise because that. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

(As X, sometimes, might change their policies at a very sort notice.) 🤑 Was the refundable OBC amount quite significant? (As X, might set a certain dollar amount allowed to be refund in cash; while the rest might be credited to our credit card. I prefer to get cash, so that I may be able to use it during our next cruise which I don't have any refundable OBC.) Thank you for sharing your valuable experience with us. thebutlerdidit Posted September 19 #12 Share Posted September 19 I've been told that refundable OBC can be removed in cash starting at 7pm on the last night of the cruise. I've also just gone up to an empty guest services desk on debarkation morning to withdraw it as "traveling cash".

Is there a limited amount that you can cash in for your refundable OBC? (Said, will US$600 be OK?) Appreciate your help and sharing.

I’ve never had that much OBC to deal with at the end of the cruise. Probably the largest amount I’ve cashed out at Guest Services was $125. celebrity cruiser Posted September 20 #18 Share Posted September 20 all Refundable OBcr will automatically go back to your credit card used unless you see guest relations anytime on the last full day of the cruise. At that time you can ask for the entire Refundable amount in cash.
DUTRAVEL Posted September 20 #19 Share Posted September 20 We asked for $200 from our refundable OBC on the last night of our Eclipse cruise a couple of weeks ago. The rest was refunded to our credit card since we didn't want to carry that much cash around.
billc23 Posted September 21 #20 Share Posted September 21 If I have refundable OBC I just switch my credit card to a different one - so I do not lose the points/cash back - and avoid the line at GS. I suppose you could use a debit card which will give the cash back to your bank account.
