Rare PhillyTravelBug Posted 14 hours ago #1 Share Posted 14 hours ago Beginning October 1st, free at sea is being replaced with More at Sea. I think this is an improvement, but curious what everyone else thinks.
Rare shof515 Posted 14 hours ago #2 Share Posted 14 hours ago how much "MORE" is this going to cost? I think this means another increase in the drink/dinning gratuities. Hopefully these packages is optional and can be declined if you dont want them
Rare PhillyTravelBug Posted 14 hours ago Author #3 Share Posted 14 hours ago Those are my thoughts too. For now, it seems promising.
lisa928 Posted 14 hours ago #4 Share Posted 14 hours ago I found this although not US $. More at Sea upgrade amount is per person for all guests of applicable age in the same stateroom based on sail length upon purchase: https://www.luxusneplavby.sk/na-stiahnutie/31/more_at_sea_podmienky_2024_09_27_13_39_46.pdf
Asawi Posted 14 hours ago #5 Share Posted 14 hours ago Fewer internet minutes for long cruises. Personally I don't care about more speciality dinners and more "premium" drinks included. I'm pretty sure price will go up, and as someone who drinks very little alcohol it doesn't sound like an improvement. But I guess we'll know more tomorrow

It's the SAME for 3-6 nights, same for 7-11 nights and 12+ get boned with HALF of what they had previously... NJGeorge Posted 14 hours ago #8 Share Posted 14 hours ago The only thing that is more is the price. I'm done with cruising no value anymore.

Yeah confused as table says 2+ age, but also says "Upgrade is per person and required for all guests of applicable age...." which will be interesting when I sail with my teen who cannot drink. That document does not apply for how the US cruisers will be charged.

Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted 13 hours ago #12 Share Posted 13 hours ago In NZ & Australia the dining and drinking grats AND the DSC are all built into our crusie costs so i am interested in the changes for us.
Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted 13 hours ago #13 Share Posted 13 hours ago @lisa928 Does it not say 21+ in the beverage area?
Eno Posted 13 hours ago #14 Share Posted 13 hours ago So no included water or Starbucks that are included now in the free at sea plus

It simply compares the standard Free At Sea to the new "More at Sea"!
bkrickles1 Posted 13 hours ago #16 Share Posted 13 hours ago I heard about this the other day from my pcc when booking Aqua for next year. He told me it would definitely cost more. Specifically the drink package fee.
david_sobe Posted 13 hours ago #17 Share Posted 13 hours ago (edited) What's the catch? I am suspicious. So those booked can call NCL and get an extra specialty meal and a better beverage package for nothing? EDIT: I just answered my own question. This is for NEW bookings ONLY. Those made after October 1, 2024 My cruise would not apply even though its not paid in full Edited 13 hours ago by david_sobe
Eno Posted 13 hours ago #18 Share Posted 13 hours ago Guess we find out tomorrow. So some guests may have fee at sea who booked prior to Oct 1. Some more free at sea who booked oct 1 or upgrade and maybe free at sea plus.
Rare Captain-John Posted 13 hours ago #19 Share Posted 13 hours ago I'd welcome the extra speciality meal too, and I do make use of a beverage package, so not seeing too much downside from my own perspective.
Rare PhillyTravelBug Posted 13 hours ago Author #20 Share Posted 13 hours ago I found this with my email for travel partners with NCL.
yakcruiser Posted 13 hours ago #21 Share Posted 13 hours ago This doesn't look so good for the people who upgrade to FAS+ for the Starbucks and water.
CruiseMH Posted 13 hours ago #22 Share Posted 13 hours ago So, i am on the 8th of November sailing ) 9 nights ) on the escape in a balcony cabin. Based on the information posted here i just want to mention what for me as a germ guest this means. Yes, i know it is from 2025 on but i just compared it. Current price add-on i paid for FAS: 199 Euros (the gratuities are included) Future price i pay for MAS: 349 Euros So i do get 45 % more premium brands, more variety in the included drinks ,no 15 USD cap and 2 more meals for 150 USD more. As i never had the problem with drinking something that was over the 15 USD mark for me it would actually mean only more beverages to choose from and 2 more meals in the speciality restaurants. Well, for thats definitely neither an deterioration no an improvement. For US guests the situation might be completely different depending on the current and future charges for FAS/MAS.
Rare DCGuy64 Posted 13 hours ago #23 Share Posted 13 hours ago I like the More at Sea package: no more $15 cap on beverages, and 3 specialty restaurants for our typical 7-night cruise. Win/win!
Rare tsahall01 Posted 13 hours ago #24 Share Posted 13 hours ago Using the $23/day for my up coming cruise in February, it is actually cheaper than the Free at Sea!! One more dinner, but less minutes for internet, better drink choices--that's a win for me!
