Watched on the news when the new locks opened for the first time the other day. We did the Canal cruise a few years ago, it would be nice to cruise again to see the new locks.

Not as good as the photos in the article but here they are. These gates were HUGE, and it was an amazing opportunity to see them pre-installation. Photo taken from the prom deck of the Veendam.
