Las vegas coin pusher game

All Carnival ships have them. They also have 'games' where you try to pick up stacks of bills but they always seem to fall out of the 'tongs'. They have another game where you try to get stacks that are hanging on the 'wall. Don't play these games but they are fun to watch.

Thanks for the reply. I know they have coin pushers on most ships but I specifically the Las Vegas machine is what I am looking for. Were there any of the Las Vegas ones that you ha e seen? I have only been on carnival paradise and theirs was different

Maybe you should be more specific about what you're looking for then. What are you expecting that was different? What are the features that make it not what you're looking for? I'm really confused at just how different they really could have been.

I'm another who thinks it's fun to watch people try these games. I know the Caribbean Princess had a coin pusher type of game that people we met loved. I watched them put several rolls of quarters into that machine. Even with a rocking and rolling ship, the quarters don't fall over the edge at a very good rate of return. I'm not sure if it was the specific one that the OP asked about. I didn't pay attention to the details.

Thank you to those who responded to my actual question. I posted a photo of the machine so I am not sure if that wasn't enough of an explanation. Most people do loose on that game but I myself don't. I actually won a lot on it but there is a few tricks and most people don't know as they have never played. I can play for minimal $$ and walk away with more $$ each nite and I enjoy the game in the evenings instead of slots. I have played other variations of coin pusher games but no where near as good so I was just curious if there are any other ones like it.

All the RCI ships I've been on usually have at least two in the casino...hard not to stop and put a few quarters in (also check the trays usually there are some quarters left there that may have fallen out...happens all the time) and it can certainly be entertaining to watch some putting a lot in determined their going to win. Congrats to you one of the few that has mastered this game!

Earlier the picture did not show up when I originally viewed the post so i did not realize it was a name of the machine being referred to rather than a city you saw them in. :) but it does still leave me asking what makes it so special compared to other similar ones. I've never really paid much attention to them so i wouldn't know if the name really mattered that much since it's just branding. I was under the impression that casinos adjust all machines to meet their particular parameters since people often talk about payouts and odds being lower on cruise ships. I've never been much of a casino person myself because of the smoke.

so some of the games have holes on the side of the machine where the money will fall into and no one gets it. Also on the las vegas one the slots give you a bit more control where the quarters will fall. They had another version on the getaway that did this and when you pushed the bills all the way forward they would fall in the hole most of the time. The bonus on this game was more on the vegas one as well. And as i said i had figured out some tricks to the game and would leave each night with a full bucket of coins ranging from $100-$160. As i said most people dont win much but i guess i am in the minority. Now i know $100-$160 is not a ton of money but when i only spend $10 it is a good profit for some hours of fun. I play for the fun of it. It covered my tips and onboard expenses so why not. Its not a game for everyone but I quite enjoy it so that is why i was asking. For those who replied to my actual question i appreciate it. Thanks

Rough seas one night on a Carnival cruise... an enterprising granny sat on a bar stool near the game. When the ship rolled, and a few coins clanked into the tray, she'd jump up, scoop them into her purse, and return to her seat.

I'd like to know the OP's tricks/techniques... my sister is a whiz at the crane games (at least the ones full of stuffed animals)... she has a good eye for identifying the ones that aren't wedged in as securely.

 C'mon - you can't leave us hanging...tell us all how to win big on the quarter-scootcher (this is what I call the game). :D

Worse odds than slots! You're better off playing a table game...either poker or blackjack! Even Craps has better odds!

True! Even worse odds than the slots!

Actually, Craps has the best odds when betting "pass/don't pass or come/don't come".

I find it hard to believe that one coin pusher game is any different than another no matter what they are called on the machine itself.

Guess the OP doesn't want to share their winning strategy.:D

I agree with the OP. I also love playing these but I also have my favorites. Some allow you to aim your quarters in a certain direction but only have one slot, while others don't let you aim but have 3 slots, and there are still others that are different yet. In addition to the slot where you put your quarter, as the OP stated there are other nuances like the quarter "bases/floors" that have space between the base and the "wall" where quarters can fall but you don't get those that fall there.

I would rather play these than slot machines because I can sit for several hours for under $20 and usually leave with more than I came with.

Do you REALLY believe that anyone who spends any serious amount of time doing anything in a casino regularly comes out ahead?

I had a friend, who had a friend, that won "every time" he went to the casino.

I asked him what this guy did for a living, he told me he operated a backhoe.

I asked him why he just didn't go to the casino every day instead of wasting his time operating a backhoe.

I have a friend whose brother-in-law met your friend on a cruise --- so I can confirm this.

Yeah, that's about the only way you can make money off one. :D

I have heard many times that of all casinos, the ones on cruise ships actually have the worst payback odds of all.

That's hard to believe - because the ONLY place you hear about people regularly winning at a casino is on CC where there are frequent reports of people who always come out ahead on their cruises.
