  1. Wowzz, it isn't about Baltic cruises in general, it's about specific cancelled Baltic cruises. We switched our cancelled cruise to Sky Princess and looking forward to comparing glitzy Sky with vanilla Britannia. We opted for Princess plus, so maybe you can comment as to whether the speciality coffees in the drinks package include the alcoholic Irish coffee versions?
  2. I know there are some posters on here who are still very concerned about mixing with others in case they catch covid, but I am now feeling that things are just about back to normal. Maybe it's because it no longer figures regularly on the news, and we are not constantly being warned about covid hospitalisation cases, but mainly its the ongoing vaccination which has now almost relegated the effects of covid to the same level as flu. I just hope that, despite the petri dish fear, the cruise lines will soon abandon all the quarantine zones and treat covid cases more like noro, and once they test negative allow them to fully rejoin the cruise.
  3. That's because they are Yorkshire based.😇
  4. This thread is about the Baltic cruises that were cancelled, and quite naturally has moved onto the cruises that have replaced them, some of which have shore excursions to Edinburgh. Seems quite sensible thread drift to me.
  5. Its a balmy 1° here this morning and raining, the pavements look very wet but I will need to be careful when I go for the morning paper in case its icy underneath.
  6. Wow, we managed to get G501, which is 35 days for £50, but that was during the winter 24/5 brochure launch.
  7. Where that happens is probably just down to the inefficiencies of the IT dept and the poor management of customer service.
  8. If the Britannia in Southampton is anything like the Britannia in Manchester was many years ago, then I would avoid it like the plague.
  9. You have pointed out similar issues that I have made over the years, P&O just do not maintain their ships to the same standard as RCI and Celebrity, and even Princess, which is also part of the Carnival group. Possibly your point about US passengers having higher expectations, is one major reason for this, but equally their prices for ex UK sailings are generally much lower than the above cruise lines, however I think I would be prepared to pay a bit more if the P&O fleet was maintained anywhere near as well as RCI.
  10. I assume you could even avoid the low £50pp deposit if you used your FCC as the deposit, although for a March cruise you will probably have to pay in full already.
  11. Welcome back wowzz, glad it was only an enforced absence and nothing more serious.
  12. But that's covered in the T&Cs by the rider that, changes to the itinerary can be subject to changed circumstances.
  13. Only one shareholder benefit per cabin is allowed. .
  14. -6° outside here in W Yorks, but a reasonable 18° in the flat. Being on the 1st floor of three definitely has its advantages.
  15. But our Princess cruise in July is still called Baltic Heritage.
  16. Julie, thank you, the back button worked a treat, I must try and remember that for any future problems. No idea why United Kingdom comes under G, other than possibly GB. But why can't Carnival put USA, Canada, UK and any other country with large passenger numbers at the top of the list beats me?
  17. I can only assume that the system thinks you have not read some posts around 1589. Possibly if you use the next page feature to get you to the current page it will get you back to normal.
  18. That being the case are you still able to use the Princess website to complete all your pre cruise data input, I cannot seem to find any way to access a cruise personaliser to do this?
  19. Just tried to add my personal passport data and got to the country of birth only to find that my screen keypad covers the drop down box, and there is no way to access the data. Is there a work around for this?
  20. Not the only time we have been, but it is walkable in about 15/20 minutes.
  21. Sorry I was not intending to offend, but I was just incredulous that P&O would offer such a low price. However MBs explanation did clarify things, and of course end Nov early Dec is traditionally the weakest period for cruise sales, quite often with some exceptional deals. But these offers are not routine as your posts have implied, and not indicative of prices that will be available on a regular basis, leading to lowering passenger standards.
  22. Are you sure this wasnt a spoof advert, I cannot see even P&O offering this price as per person for 2 passengers, and certainly not for single occupancy.
  23. The post Brexit devaluation in the pound has not been factored into the P&O shareholder benefit, as it used to be in the past. Will it change next year, I very much doubt it.
  24. Cloudy with a light snow covering here, and the temp has just reached 1°.
