  1. Apparently the banks will provide you with a policy schedule if you ask.
  2. I always thought that all plastic drink bottles could be recycled, regardless of the size. So I find P&Os change to heavier glass and cans somewhat puzzling.
  3. If you have found an own label tomato ketchup that is equal to Heinz please let me know, similarly with HP sauce, I have never found a satisfactory own brand.
  4. The whole fruit on Iona was stored under the serving counter, hopefully in a chilled area to keep it fresh, which is why you need to request it.
  5. Maybe not, if Moley says it's safe to use, but repairs dependant on parts becoming available, which must be when you're cruising.
  6. Not really our experience in October, I know that half term did figure in part of our 14 nt cruise, but most schools only have one week. However there were lots of young families on the cruise with children under school age, as well as quite a few who possibly decided a fine was a bargain, if they could have a holiday away from peak school holiday prices.
  7. But you can use the app by joining a virtual queue for the restaurant of your choice. However I agree that continuing to allow passengers just to turn up, and be seated fairly quickly, probably by delaying people on the virtual queue, does nothing to increase the use of the app. Until this is rectified then the major benefits of freedom dining are being lost.
  8. I thought that after the problems you had on your last cruise, you were never cruising with P&O again after the one you had already booked for early this year??
  9. I assume they pay their way or P&O would stick more cabins there.
  10. I assume the 50% refund is more than the quoted cabin price difference? .
  11. Reading these sort of comments send a shiver down my spine. I loved the original Anytime Dining experience on Princess, I never really warmed to the early and late fixed dining times on our early cruises in 2004/5, so when anytime came in I thought it was fantastic. However gradually over time the ability to roll up at your designated MDR whenever was most convenient to you, has become watered down. Princess, and other lines as well, seem to have pushed passengers, sorry guests, to pre select as many dining times, and table locations, as there are days on the cruise. I guess it helps them to plan peak loading better, and probably enables them to minimise staffing, but it's taken all the joy of freedom dining away, IMHO.
  12. You should be able to, setting up airplane mode will disconnect wi fi, but you can restart wi fi without losing airplane mode. Or at least that's how it works on.my phone.
  13. That's the sort of flowery language that P&O use on the MDR menus.
  14. Sounds like another P&O IT glitch, I wonder if anyone ever gets sacked, or just promoted out of the way. I wonder if Paul Ludlow ever worked in IT?😜
  15. I seem to remember having moules, something or other as a starter on P&O many years ago, I think I had 3 mussels and a desert spoonful of sauce, which would have left me still holding most of the baguette.
  16. But in this instance its not really a phone, its P&Os version of Princesses medallion, and I imagine many other mainstream cruise lines have a similar procedure which they feel improves the service for passengers, especially on the bigger ships. If a high proportion of passengers opt out because they dont want to be told to carry around a gadget, then we get queue which annoy everyone. We all need to be prepared to bend with the wind, but still ensure that Auntie Ethel and friend also enjoy their cruise experience. But for the ones not happy to carry a phone or medallion around I wonder how they will be able to accept a pager?
  17. If my cheap 2g/3g phone works, then I would expect most should work.
  18. Sorry I did not really browse this store, but it looked to have lots of small gadgets, but no real idea what they were.
  19. I have every sympathy with those who have not yet embraced smart phones, and there needs to be a non virtual queue arrangement for them. However those who do have smart phones, but chose not to use the app need a little push in that direction. So maybe those who have used the app should have priority over those who haven't, and if they keep the 2 queue system, then the non app users should not be allowed up to the desk while there are virtual queuers waiting. Only when the virtual queue is empty should they be allowed to the desk. That should work, and it ought to increase the app usage as well.
  20. I never used to carry my phone on my person, on holiday it went in the bag that goes on the back of my wifes wheelchair, but I rarely needed to use it. But since I switched to this newer one, on which I now do all my browsing, shopping, and banking, I find it goes in my trouser pocket, just as my sons told me I should, to make sure I had it to hand if they wanted to contact me. So on holiday it's the same, and I don't find it a problem at all.
  21. On both Britania and Iona the app worked perfectly, and my phone is only 2g/3g. Yes it shut down if I did not not keep it active, but even it did close down, the app was still active when I went back in.
  22. The choice in the perfume, jewelry, watch, leather bags and electronic shops on Iona was far greater than on any of the other ships, including Britannia, and on the special sale days the prices can be quite attractive.
  23. We had afternoon tea in the buffet on Iona in October and it wasn't whipped cream, don't think it was clotted cream either, but it was quite acceptable.
  24. Not surprising since brochures are normally printed several months in advance and, as they last generally for 12 months, they continue to be available up to two years after printing.
