  1. For me personally it’s not what Dottie says but how she says it.
  2. Brewed ice tea? This sounds new. We’ve always had to make our own.
  3. Okay, so there's nothing new about it? Thanks for the update.
  4. I bet they'll do that just for you. I have never understood some cruiser's infatuation with Dottie, but as they say, different strokes.
  5. Yes, it's pretty universally known by Oceania cruisers that he is the best. Oddly enough after 14 years and 30 Oceania cruises Sept a year ago was the first time we ever cruised with him.
  6. I also was going to recommend reading The Currents. You'd be amazed at what you could find out.
  7. I like Peter, but I can understand he's not everyone's cup of tea.
  8. Well no, You must have Oceania confused with some other line.
  9. Unless there has been a recent change this concept of piped in music is a bit overblown. I've heard music on the pool deck and in the restaurants during the day, but never very loud nor that annoying. But I like music. I find worrying about it a non issue, the CD announcements on the other hand............
  10. Just one small point of order. Oceania has ALWAYS had an older clientele. I've been cruising on them since 2009 and that has always been the case. Historically I've been one of the younger people on board, but now that I'm on Medicare that's not always the case. Scooters, walkers and wheelchairs have always been very common on Oceania. Your cruise wasn't an outlier in this respect. Now, there are certain itineraries that will skew younger, such as Europe in the Summer. It really is one of their biggest obstacles for future growth. Also, just an FYI, before they were part of NCHL there was no free internet. But then again neither was Celebrity free for internet in those years. Many of us are ok with the small steps. Thanks for your review. Glad overall you liked it enough to book again. There are some of us that will chose Oceania over others due to the loyalty perks. They get pretty good after 10 or so cruises with them.
  11. Here is the way ours worked. Our luggage was put on an enclosed truck. We were put on a Hop On Hop Off Bus, not sure if we started at the terminal or at Bayside. We took the bus on a couple of it's route then came back to the Bayside station. At that point you collect your luggage from the truck and they put you on a shuttle to the airport. It's a pretty inexpensive way to fill a few hours if you don't have anything specific you want to do in Miami and you have a late flight. I'd do it again if I were in that situation.
  12. Perhaps, but he's not the only one that goes on with the unnecessary announcements. It used to not be that way.
  13. We got a couple of small bottles of Perfume on some cruise recently. It seems to be unisex, or at least I like it for myself.
  14. The best advice I could give on this would be that if you want a wine from a specific region that you are visiting buy it yourself and pay the corkage fee, or have it in your room with room service, or possibly if you are in PH or above with a nice dinner from a Specialty restaurant.
  15. I've never known there to be a discount for booking a guarantee on Oceania. You pay the going rate for that category, but you will be on the cruise.
  16. That seems to be the 64k question these days. One we discuss regularly on our Roll Call for the 1-21-24 cruise that leaves from Rio.
  17. While I haven't been onboard since it started, I would venture a guess that it's probably the same list of wines and beers that were available under Olife House Select.
  18. I can't locate it at the moment, but I think I read somewhere here once upon a time that NCL operates their own casinos. But I could have dreamed it.
  19. I don't plan on cruising on SB but if I do I'm glad I'm old since they are only attacking the younger folks.
  20. I think Cartagena Columbia will count as a Distant Foreign Port. I'm pretty sure it, along with the ABC islands is what most cruise lines use for Panama Canal cruises from US West Coast cities to Miami or FT Lauderdale, etc.
  21. Tell us more. Did you go early with your whole group that was going ashore and request tickets? Frankly I've never had a real problem with getting on a tender, but I don't mind waiting a bit to get on them. I've never expected to just walk in, get a ticket then go to the tender early in the day.
