  1. For us about $11k each, but a friend just spent $30K for 10 nights
  2. A mate still works as a photographer, doing a lot of ads now, including video ads. He shot one using nothing but phone cameras (it was for one of the big phone companies) another he shot with about 12 go pros, they were mounted in a track and circled around going in and out of water, and extremes in temperature. He also did an experiment at a college he does some work with where he had some actors photographed by different photographers, but the actors presented themselves as different socio economic levels to each photographer. So one bloke was unemployed to one, a computer geek to another, pro surfer to the next, you get the drift, the difference in how they were photographed was, to say the least, interesting.
  3. But you can see them pretty well at night and even if you couldn’t see the possum I’d expect to see their eyes.
  4. But all the times I have been Nader them only once seen anything using them.
  5. I suspect Hypoallergenic could be the word you are looking for.
  6. Many forget that a camera is just a tool. A long time ago (seems like a lifetime) I made a living with camera in hand doing most types of photography at one time or another. When I started shooting weddings I was using a Canon F1, with an EX-EE as my back up. The Ex was soon replaced with an AE-1 program, and eventually I moved on to only using the AE-1s, two loaded with colour, one B@W, and a spare or two in the bag. The number of times I heard “I have a better camera than that”. The difference was they didn’t know how to get the best out of it, I at least like to think I had some idea.
  7. sorry missed the bit about Under $200, if tha5 is US$ you might sneak in but not Aus$.
  8. Hard to beat Rydges at the Rocks for location. Disclosing that while I have stayed at lots of Rydges, stayed at the hotel when it was Holiday Inn but not since the change. Couple of hundred metres at most walk to the Terminal. Now a couple of things, One what your budget is. Two are you a member of any loyalty programs.
  9. One hint, along the Hunter Expressway, if you go that way, there are some nets running from telegraph pole to telegraph pole across the road, these are for Koalas to cross, it is unlikely to see one cross8ng, but worth keeping an eye out. I did see one once.
  10. I hope they go the scenic route. They may be lucky enough to spot some ‘Roos in the wild.

  12. I think they all have a place. A bit like a spanner, shifter, crescent, ring. Cameras, phone compact, bridge, DSLR, Mirrorless, sports, all have a use.
  13. You know you will have about an hour drive each way to the Vineyards?
  14. One tip, is bring a thick skin. I have some mobility, I have health conditions that a senior ER doctor called “Interesting, is it OK if I use you file as a teaching aid” a spine that my friend a GP calls a “Complicated Mess” mini strokes most days, so suffer frequent falls, I try to use the minimum I can for what I am facing, be it two canes (can’t get bye with one anymore), a Walker, or a power wheelchair, I can’t count the number of times I have heard “ You are faking it, I saw you out of that chair the other day, do you use it for priority boarding” or similar. I have learnt to mostly ignore it, my mate who is 6’8 and near on 400lb near on throws them overboard if he hears it, but that is nothing compared to Mrs G’s reaction. I near on guarantee you will get someone question you about your disability
  15. It is a rare crew member that will enforce the rules
  16. One ship I was on even had a couple of tables reserved in the buffet for wheelchairs, ones you could roll up to with no hassles Could you ever get one, yep the one near one servers station he just told anyone else sitting there to move, in no uncertain terms but unfortunately like most things onboard they are scared to enforce the rules.
  17. Yep not enough cabins and no supervision of who is allowed book them, I’ll now get back on my hobby horse, I could get by with a normal cabin if either ’The doors were slightly wider, or They had somewhere to park and charge, I could get from the door into the cabin and Mrs G could take the chair to the park and charge location. On one of my first cruises they had such a location on a couple of decks
  18. I just rock up, tell ‘em how spethshial I is and Bob’s ya Aunties live in lover.
  19. Not sure if it varies by where in the world you are, but we have done many cruises starting early December and invariably they have gone up on the day we board, so in my experience first turn around in December seems to be it.
  20. Sorry to hear of your further troubles Uncle Les, they always travel together.
  21. We’ve had one or two female cabin stewards out of a total of about 50.
  22. Maybe they are holding off releasing them hoping they get more takers on the circumnavigation.
  23. You may be surprised how much you need it on the ship, especially with lines. But to answer tour main question depending on how flat yours folds you can probably fit it under the bed, many suitcases fit.
