  1. The check in on Celebrity Century is one we will never forget. But I do worry about how they are diluting the spethshialness some of us have.
  2. Yeah the best check in experiences. To be fair though if my first cruise had been Celebrity they may have been my favourite, unfortunately the very first time I booked a Celebrity cruise the agent managed to sell me one that had been cancelled months earlier, and that didn’t help. Though it did make me start booking direct.
  3. That interesting. Once I didn’t have tags they just used plain Manila tags and wrote my cabin number on in texta. But that was many many years ago with a guarantee booking.
  4. My wife swears by Ginger, Green Apples, and Travel Calm (especially the one with Ginger in it)
  5. Luggage drop is normally open before 8. What day are you there? rocks Markets are an interesting browse Sat and Sun. A wander around the opera house (even a coffee by the water) a walk down under the Bridge, a Ferry Ride. So many options depending on your interests.
  6. I’d book that one Uncle Les might even shout the lunch if you are lucky.
  7. I’ve had OBC not show up till day two or three of my cruise. It was why I always take a hard copy of gifts, prepurchases etc.
  8. Probably but usually I drop Mrs Gut at our hotel so it’s just me on the train. On our return she sits having a coffee at a cafe, I go get the car and pick her up at the Rocks.
  9. The Opera House (Wilson Parking) is one we have used. Or the long term car park at the airport, then train ro circular Quay (one cruise 35 days only about $200 (May have gone up that was a fe2 years back
  10. Never had one. It can’t hurt to ask, but expect to hear no. Mrs g just sends me off to fetch a thermos of hot water, says it is the only reason she takes me along.
  11. Yep a guarantee isn’t a cabin till you’re in it. I have had them assigned from within minutes of booking to boarding. I don’t book them anymore I’ve become picky about location, location, location.
  12. And Wild Oats 9 times winner, broke her own record but finished 4th. I well remember when they didn’t get there till New Years Eve.
  13. I can’t agree I find a power wheelchair way more manouverable than a scooter, but they each hav3 different uses and features, I do think that many (non regula4 users) would find a scooter more intuitive (with its handle bar type design) that a wheelchair (joystick controlled)
  14. Currently my oldest brother is living there, but I suspect she won’t be real sorry if he goes back to Darwin. It was only just over a year ago it was just mum and dad, but a few heart issues has him in a nursing home, he is dead keen to go home, the big problem is mum isn’t well enough if he had another fall etc. Dad was still working a couple of days a week until about 3 or 4 years ago, (someone bought the bottle shop and thought he knew better how to run things so to quote dad “I told him to stick his job where the sun don’t shine” it was so cute watching them hold hands all day.
  15. I haven’t seen dad for about a year, we were terrified of taking Covid near him, as he is going down hill ( but he is almost 94) he is currently in a nursing home and they are missing each other, this is how they sat most of the day
  16. I haven’t been on the eclipse, but somewhere around the back, near the buffet and eat out there as I watch the sun set under the bridge, of course that will also depend on the time of sail away.
  17. How the ,,,,,, can you mispronounce Redhead? But gee I’ve heard them mispronounce some other names and sometimes I turn the GPS on just to hear it mangle some Suburb or street names.
  18. Ohhh the days of 10’ plus boards with multiple fins. Could hardly carry it but could paddle over to Pulbah on it
  19. Mmmm trifle pie, my two favourite food groups in one.
  20. I know they are at Thornton, Abermain and Port MacQuarie.
