Agree that to a large extent smaller is better, but I also think there is too small. My sweet spot would be 300-700 hundred, unless it was all family and friends. Pacific Princess was by far our favourite ship. But a yacht of upto about 50 has also been wonderful.

I suspect my cruise days are over, or very close to. I know that will impact other people, but I have to do what is right for me. All I can suggest for your friend is that as he obtains treatment for his panic disorder he consider if a cruise is “doable” and perhaps they a short cruise if he “thinks” it might work. But if people try to pressure him it may make things worse no matter their good intentions.

We would largely agree. Only done the one P&O, much rather Princess, seems a lot of petty charges on P&O. Would we sail with them again? Yep if friends were going, if the itinerary was right or if guest entertainers took our fancy, but they offer nothing that would lure us from Princess not even pricing, but I guess that’s why Carnival Corp keep multiple brands, to offer variety.
