  1. We stayed at Cocoa Beach Best Western and had a great time. They have a good breakfast in the morning. (Servers take your order for hot items; fruit & coffee/juice is self-serve.) Easy to walk to the Pier. Several places to eat. We also can recommend CruiseControl for a reliable and decently prices shuttle. They were on time and kept in touch with us to let us know they were on the way.
  2. Cruise Control was great for our transportation. The driver texted us to let us know when he would arrive. Small shuttle buses and very comfortable.
  3. We loved the Footloose movie too so we kept waiting for the show to improve. Hate to walk out but just decided their were much better ways to spend our evening. Thankfully there were several good music options around the ship. Mojito bar had an especially good band playing.
  4. We were on the Joy last month. We love the musicals too but had to walk out after 30 or 40 minutes. We tried but just couldn't make it to the end. Currently on Getaway and absolutely loved Broadway Unplugged performed by the Million Dollar Quartet performers. Very talented and can't wait for their MDQ performance later this week!
  5. We just cruised from Port Canaveral. We arrived and went through check in about 9:45am. Main waiting room was basically empty at that time. For our cruise Haven boarding started at 11:15am just after zero count from prior cruise. Main waiting area was very full by that time.
  6. Yes, we loved the hot fudge sundaes on the Prima. After that cruise, We ordered and paid for one on another cruise just wasn't as good. Hopefully they will keep them on the Prima.
  7. Just did this and had two tolls. $3 in quarters will take care you from MCO to Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach.
  8. I hadn't heard that the Getaway Haven might have a small lunch buffet? Do they also have a poolside 'snack' menu?
  9. I do not know about POA, but on other NCL cruises you can sign up individuals for the Soda package after you board. (I sign myself up as my husband does not want/need the soda package.) After the soda package is purchased onboard you do need to get a new keycard printed with the word 'SODA' on it.
  10. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos & interesting review! So much great information for us all to think about. Can you give us an idea of the NCL cost for these excursions?
  11. Great! I'm hoping they still have them on our next Prima cruise.....just 11 months or so to wait😋
  12. Very much enjoyed your first post and looking forward to more! If you can, will you see if The Local still has the complimentary Hot Fudge sundae? I was hoping other ships would add it, but haven't seen it since our Prima cruise.
  13. As we will be cruising in Getaway's Haven soon, looking forward to your thoughts on the experience. Thanks for sharing with us😊
  14. I would also suggest you book a cruise on the Joy. I don't recall ever seeing this on other ships, but the Mojito bar on the Joy has a bandstand & dancefloor. Several nights there was some great music & dancing in there.
  15. We remember those days! DH had his Tux, and I had a beaded evening gown. So much to pack and bring along, and ......it was before our luggage had wheels😱
  16. Thanks @ggTexasGal That is a great list! When we were last in the Haven, I asked the bartender to make me an Emperor's Nectar (as on your list), but he didn't have all the ingredients. He came close though! I loved another drink that WAS at Food Republic. I believe it was called Revolutionary Cure. Wish I knew the the ingredients for that one🤔
  17. I hope you enjoy it! It was excellent on the Bliss. Of course, they would probably give you a nice tasting portion alongside your regular lunch🤔
  18. Out of over 40 NCL cruises, we are about to go on our 3rd in Haven. From our experiences on past Haven cruises, we declined the extra specialty dining package as we know we will want to have most meals in the Haven. (We do have two latitudes meals to use.) Of course, we will sneak down to O'Sheehan's for a Reuben! Our first Haven dinner I will have my favorite Surf & Surf of Crab Cake & Lobster😋 DH will order a shrimp cocktail (off menu but available). They are happy to mix & match your dinner from anything they have available. I have to say, while not a vegetarian, I absolutely love the lunch Spaghetti Squash with a craveable Chunky Tomato sauce. Extremely tasty and it makes me feel better about all the other things I'm eating that week.
  19. You do need to talk to the Hosts on the last night of your cruise in order to utilize any comps you have earned. If you want to be issued CasinoNext certificates, do not 'play' your earned tier points. 5000 tier for $250 CasinoNext 10,000 tier for $500 Casino Next They print you out a page for each certificate that is signed by a Host and includes your issue date & latitudes number. It does appear to take a few days after you return for CAS to 'see' your CASNEXT on your account. (I couldn't see mine on MyNCL, but CAS could a few days after cruise) The Joy in April had an Exec, Senior, and two other hosts. Four hosts, someone always available when casino was open. Very friendly & helpful CAS desk😎
  20. Yes, and our airlines moved us from a cancelled 5pm flight to a 1pm flight😱 I'm hoping our TSA pre-check status will help us at MCO. Anyone know how TSA lines are at MCO on Saturday mornings/midday?
  21. Hmmm...how about TSA pre-check? Will it be long lines at mid-day on a Saturday? Any advice?
  22. Yes! I would think they could let us check our preferences online. Surely a computer system could allow this? If they want to reward their higher tiers, let us choose from a list of relatively inexpensive items that can be delivered to our room. Extra cartons of water should be easy enough. And, if they really want to make me happy, we would LOVE a 6pack of Diet Coke in our cabin🤞
  23. We agree with @The Traveling Man about the Sail & Sustain Mixology experience for Diamond & Ambassador. This is an awesome perk that you can enjoy on each cruise. We just returned a couple of weeks ago from a Joy cruise and had another extremely fun Mixology experience. I believe they said there were 10 or 11 Diamond level on board and 7 of us showed up. (No Ambassadors, but one couple was close!) So enjoyable to have a drink (or several) with a group of fellow Diamonds. We talked about favorite cruises, ports & ships while enjoying some interesting drinks. It was held at the outdoor Mojito bar. A little too much to drink at mid-day, but hey....we were on vacation😎
  24. We loved staying at the Tremont for two days pre-cruise. Easy to walk all over the Strand area. Also, we found it easy to roll our bags over to the port and we have been retired for a few years. (We did see a shuttle leaving from the Tremont, so you could check with them if you require a shuttle.)
