  1. Well, the Villages has a reputation for a reason lol. There are some stats out there.
  2. They only did that temporarily. Pretty sure it had to do with Covid and spreading people out as that was right after they restarted cruising out of Baltimore. We were on in April (2-22)for a b2b and the only boarding day lunch was for Key and b2bers.
  3. More than likely someone with a similar or same name triggered something. It's why they were confirming your identity. Global Entry means they don't have to. Global entry can be revoked if someone does something in the future that makes them a risk.
  4. Only because some group decided to hijack it.
  5. We have friends onboard and they just posted a picture of the pool deck. It's icy and gee, no one is in the pool.
  6. Someone on FB posted that the ship had entered the Bay around 8 pm which is within an hour to an hour and a half of the normal time. We've cruised in and out of Baltimore about 13 times. To be in Baltimore by 2 am, the ship would have entered the Bay a lot earlier than 8. Someone on FB posted that the ship arrived on time this am, so not 2 am. Anyway, now everyone gets to spend tonight at the pier.
  7. It's a symbol of hospitality in New England also. But, not upside down.
  8. Aw, come on, you can't just leave it at that. I always wonder how people approach others on this topic. It's not the type of thing that just comes up in casual conversation lol.
  9. I have never in 17 years of cruising heard of this happening. They can say it's random, but that doesn't mean it was. It would be such an enormous waste of time and resources to do this randomly. It's the kind of thing they do when they suspect someone is smuggling in contraband. We have a friend who is CBP and he has told us a few stories. It's amazing what some people try to smuggle in and we're not talking drugs. Lots of animal and agricultural products.
  10. I saw the original post from the woman from Aus. I didn't see how it ended, but the post I saw was her trying to figure out how to get her passport sent to her in FL for the cruise. I will say, don't just stick it in an outside pocket on a bag or in a pocket on clothing. Put it inside a bag, preferably in a zipped pocket. Even between showing it before security and showing it to check in, ours go in my bag and it is zipped shut, or they stay in my hand.
  11. I was just pointing out that there are huge markups.
  12. Except for wine like Beringer White Zinfandel which retails for between $5-$7 a bottle. Onboard, it's over $30. I don't drink it. But, it is way overpriced onboard.
  13. It doesn't have to take anywhere near 10 years. Pretty sure we made D in about 4. Also, with double points that was offered last year, we did a 20 night b2b in a JS and got 80 points. There had to be a few families that made D quickly with the double point incentive. We're now 157 points away from Pinn. Prior to the restart we were just over 350.
  14. I'm 62 and I do not use/look at TikTok, ever. I do, however, read all kinds of things online. I've seen it posted on many sites, everything from FB to this site and others.
  15. A scanned signature is accepted on documents for many things so why not a photo of a BC?
  16. Our passports are always in my laptop tote that goes on every trip with us. If we're going somewhere we don't need our passports, I leave them on our coffee table in our family room until we get back when they immediately go back in the bag. I don't have to think, "now where did I put them"? I have always said, if we have our passports, at least we can get on the ship. A few years ago, we were in Baltimore and had entered through the suite entrance where they feed you in after they check your paperwork to the security line. We were a couple of people back so we were waiting. An older couple came in the regular line and she starts frantically looking through her bag and he was getting angry with her and she was in tears. We could only assume they didn't have their passports or bc's. We didn't see how it played out as we went through security at that point and onto check in. We didn't see them again and since GR is such a small ship, we usually see a lot of the same people. It doesn't mean they didn't get onboard, but they were both really upset last we saw them.
  17. What I want back is the ability to select it myself online. We have enough tote bags and towels. Currently for 7+ day cruises we get three bottles of wine.
  18. An original doesn't need anything as it's the 'original" from the county. It has to be "certified", not "notarized". So, a copy of a certified BC apparently works. Certified just means it's official.
  19. This has been the subject of several threads over the years. I thought everyone who cruised knew it. I avoid buying anything with pineapples on it lol.
  20. I couldn't drink it and I wasted a free drink on it. To me, it tastes horrible. I wonder what they mean by a "contemporary twist".
  21. Hey, but they paid for their vacation so they're entitled to use those machines lol.
