  1. Don't forget SeaVIEW. 😛 Nah, there's no need to feel embarrassed. Enjoy one of the amenities of being in the Yacht Club. For as little as $5, you can get your escort to walk you through the terminal and chant....
  2. While on your cruise, base your tipping amount (if any) on the quality and level of service that you receive. No one on this forum can tell you what is appropriate for you to tip. Forum members can tell you what THEY tip but you should tip based on your experience, not theirs. You cannot get it wrong if you do what you feel is right.
  3. If you need a second chair and it fits, ask the steward to bring one. Depending on which deck you are on, there may already be a 2nd lounger there if a previous guest requested one. Some previous guests ask for less furniture and a chair can also be removed. You won't really know what is there until you get there.
  4. I agree. Unfortunately, what happens far too often is that people trying a new (to them) cruise line will focus on the differences and the review will be filled with "...but I like how our usual cruise line does things.." and the review will be negative. No cruise line is perfect. No ship is perfect. No cruise is perfect. If people decide to spend their vacation looking for things to complain about, things will easily be found. You'll probably find that more people prefer NCL to RCCL when on the NCL forum. You'll probably find that more people prefer RCCL to NCL when on the RCCL forum. The 2 lines are more the same than different. Celebrity and Cunard are generally an older demographic (empty nester types) but RCCL and NCL will generally have younger people, parents with young children, and possibly the grandparents who get suckered into babysitting. 😁
  5. If you could get any names of the current YC staff (concierge, butlers, bartenders, etc.), that would be appreciated.
  6. By my count... Seaside - 86 Meraviglia - 103 Seashore - 131 I'll double check later when I'm at a desktop. Counting on the phone is harder.
  7. I agree with your suspicion. I also believe that following a holiday cruise (which will be packed with demanding guests), the crew suffers from a bit of burnout. Supplies will need to be replenished and the shorter cruises probably aren't as high of a priority as the 7 night cruises are.
  8. I agree that 6 adults is borderline horrible but for the Haven, the 2nd bedroom on Prima/Viva is better than the 2nd bedroom on the BA/BA Plus ships.
  9. Booking for 4 is fine for groups of 3. The table is the same. There will just be 1 unused seat at the table. There is no fee for the missing 4th person.
  10. Yes. Tell your butler or concierge which one that you want to be reserved for you. Both the Royal Suites and the Owner's Suites have a cabana reserved for each of the 4 staterooms. If you want one that is available, let the right people know and it will be yours for the entire cruise.
  11. I'm not aware of any significant differences within that category. There are very few photos of particular staterooms on the World Class ships but I'm on the lookout for them.
  12. Do you have the invoice that shows the FAS promo and 20% service charge? Did the rep cancel/rebook without adding the FAS promo or was it never there to begin with? If you had it before and paid for it, you don't need to pay it again. (If the promo is not listed originally, it correctly wouldn't be added automatically) Promo status wouldn't change in that case. If they were there originally and paid with the original booking, they should still be there. If they were never there and want to be added, the approx. $350 would correctly be added.
  13. Yacht Club...easy choice. The experience will be very different as far as crowds and service.
  14. Relationships never work when one is too clingy. 🤭
  15. These used to also be included but not anymore. However, if your butler is in a good mood, he/she might bring you either one (or both) without charge. You might get lucky (especially if you have children) based on our experience.
  16. It used to be included but not anymore. I did it several times on Seaside when it was included. I also cruise with my young children. They like Yacht Club more than NCL Haven but they will gladly sail either cruise line.
  17. Thank you for the review. The beach that your tablemates mentioned was probably Bimini Beach. There are cabanas for rent over there, too. Doing a "full lap" around the ship is something that is disappearing from modern cruise ships. I blame Leo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. Even in the Yacht Club, access to the forward-most part of the sundeck is limited....no "King of the world..... I'm flying..." moments there, either.
  18. All of my cruises with MSC have been great. Even when sailing Carnival, RCCL, or NCL, I didn't have a "bad cruise". Sure, some are better than others and no cruise is really 100% perfect but I've never had a cruise that made me say "never again" to any cruise line. Sorry that MSC didn't work for you.
  19. I'm really not liking the location of those Duplex Suites...😔
  20. My previous Yacht Club cruises (including Seashore) were great, too. I’ll be back on Seashore in a few weeks so I’ll see if my experience is like my previous experience or if it’s like the OP’s.
  21. Thanks. Would you happen to have photos of those 2?
  22. That won't be an issue when lunch is served at Ocean House instead of in the Yacht Club restaurant.
