  1. A slightly related topic.....if you have time to report back about as well please. I can't recall how Happy Hour actually works at Martinis. However, it was reported by someone currently onboard that during HH at Martinis only their Martinis where available as the 2 for 1. If you wanted another type of drink (2 for 1 ) then you had to go to another bar. The post made it appear as though this was a change. Was this always the case or is this also new ?
  2. We were recently on Riviera and we very much appreciated the new refit. Yes, the new bathroom was a great improvement. Whilst onboard we booked our next cruise which was itinerary based on Marina. Yes, we were disappointed to hear bathrooms in Veranda cabins will not be refurbished. However, one advantage for us will be replacing La Reserve with Aquamar. We anticipate using that new venue a bit.
  3. Correct... Julie was specifically talking about interest charges by using a credit card for cash. The reply to her was misleading. Having said that, I think if one has added money to the Credit Card so the balance is positive, one could then use it for cash without interest ( as long as the balance stayed positive) But that's a different situation.
  4. Are you aware of any credit cards which do not charge interest on cash withdrawals ?
  5. One thing I learnt in retirement (from a job where ' the small stuff ' was often safety critical ) is now... .... don't sweat the small stuff. This extremely minor hiccup was easily resolved in a convivial manner. That's all I want. Someone else can worry about ''their system" I'm on holiday.
  6. I recently did 3 consecutive cruises. On one of the turnaround days between 2 of the cruises, my pre-booked reservations were not showing in the computer. Showed the very pleasant & helpful person at the dining reservation desk the bookings made from the website and the missing reservations were immediately re-instated. They also asked at the same time whether I wished to make any changes to the timings which I did. This was before the new joining passengers had boarded. Easy Peasy.
  7. This situation will increase during the next 18 months as the transition to SM unfolds. I think a solution will likely be found. Perhaps.....maybe.....hopefully.
  8. The cruise before yours (Singapore - Bangkok) visits on the 7th Feb. You could: 1. Ask on their roll call to post any updates they may have; 2. On that day, check marinetraffic or vesselfinder and see where Riviera actually is docked. This may give a good clue as to where you may dock.
  9. For the benefit of the OP, don't worry about this aspect. For your cruise Coral is non-smoking inside.
  10. I have not docked in Saigon on a ship the size of Riviera. I have docked on a larger ship at Phu My which is about 70 minutes drive. Also I have docked on Nautica at Nah Rong which is walkable to town or a 15 minute shuttle. I believe Riviera is too large for the Nah Rong docking. Having said that, I understand Regent recently docked at container port at Tan Cang Hiep Phuoc. About 30km out. Of course the kms have no real correlation as to what the drive time may be. I have no direct knowledge on this however. Apart from Phu My dock, in my experience the actual final dock may not be announced till about 24-48 hours prior. Hope this helps.
  11. Thanks. If the current booking has promo OBC attached, and if your bid is accepted, do you get to keep the OBC ? EG: Do you keep the same booking reference, or is it a whole new booking ?
  12. Out of interest, will the other book onboard advantages also apply, or is it only the fare reduction ?
  13. If you are talking about the current 'New Year Sale' promo, that particular promo is valid until 29 Feb. That current sale price displayed is a separate matter to the 'book onboard' advantages. Will that particular sailing be part of any new sale promo come mid March ? I guess you could make that assessment closer to the 29 Feb date.
  14. Regarding the bidding email. Ours shows different categories one may bid on. Can you only bid on one category, or multiple categories using the same email link ?
  15. As EJL2023 mentioned, it is on the Amenities and Gifts section of the invoice.
  16. Except for those on their discounted 20th credit cruise.
  17. .....posted on wrong thread....
  18. 17% of total cruises are included in the current sale. Of that 17% there are16 cruises (3% of total cruises) which are longer than 20 days.
  19. Indeed. 'Ding, ding, ding'.......does that mean tensioning or releasing or something else ? I might have to book another transit to try to figure it out.....eek.
  20. Great, many thanks Izzywiz. Yes, we will plan a DIY day to include a few sights.
