  1. 50, that's impressive! I know he is a multi-sport athlete but if he sticks it out with rugby it sounds like he has a pretty bright future. I know both UBC and UVic offer great scholarship opportunities but that is a long way from Ont. Both clubs field teams in BC Senior Mens Premier league which has been know as a pathway to National team honors. I don't know anything about Uni rugby in Ontario. I'm sure there are good programs there too.
  2. I was one and done with them. Their pricing was better, that's what enticed me but I did not enjoy the experience. I don't want to rag on all the deficiencies else I stir up the ire of the MSC loyalists but they let us down in several areas. The constant refrain I hear is when sailing on MSC you have to sail in "Yacht Club". My thought is if I'm doing that I might as well do Sky Class on Royal. I know what I like now and Royal fits that bill.
  3. I got an 8 night 4D balcony next February on Adventure for the two of us at $1500 out the door. I consider that a great deal.
  4. No reservations required on Voyager class.
  5. Has anyone considered he just wasn’t very good at his job and got gassed because of that?
  6. It was held in the promenade. The CD led it with the capt present. They descended on Rising tide. It was an excellent ceremony.
  7. Usually about 2 weeks before cruise date and it will show up in your cruise planner.
  8. Thanks for the update. It’s always nice to know how things worked out in the end.
  9. As some who has paid for one I can tell you not a lot of restraint is exercised by daughter or mother! This man has set the bar high. He’s either obscenely wealthy or in big trouble come wedding time.
  10. I remember years ago making a little extra money in my free time driving limousine. I picked up two moms with their two 12 year old girls for a Justin Bieber concert in Vancouver. They paid $1500 for each ticket and the limo cost was $480 plus tip. I remember thinking that that was ridiculously extravagant. $21000 for tix is inconceivable.
  11. We did one time, when we had the UDP, on Odyssey of the Seas. We enjoyed it but not enough that we would do it again without the UDP. We'd do it again on the UDP but only once on a given sailing. We told our server we weren't particularly adventurous eaters and for him to choose what we should order. We enjoyed everything he selected. The World desert is to die for.
  12. I'm looking forward to Odyssey's UK deployment. My intention is to book the TA and whatever the first cruise after that is (Hopefully Norway). That'd be an epic trip.
  13. Congratulations... class C is a good introduction to the RV lifestyle. They get you used to driving a larger vehicle without dropping into something so big it scares you.
  14. Both Odyssey, Ovation and Oasis have done fabulous veterans ceremonies. Odyssey and Ovation did a group pictures if I remember right and anyone could take a picture while the photographer was getting setup. No one was forced to buy a picture if they handed their phone to one of the many spouses willing to take pictures on your behalf.
  15. The Aft cabins are much larger than typical balcony cabins. This was my cabin 10326 on Odyssey in February 2022. It was a great cabin on a great cruise.
  16. It will work and I have taken advantage of it in the past. It shows on your cruise folio as Club Royale but when your folio is cleared at the end of the cruise it all shows up as Royal Caribbean. Sea below... My Folio from Navigator earlier this year. As it appears in my Amex account online after the cruise
  17. Another day of doing nothing... I'm quite enjoying this feeling of semi-retirement. I'm not, but getting used to the feeling I am. We just moved over from the Lake a ways since there was limited m=number days we could book there. This new place is on a river and had long term space available. No direct access for DW's kayaking but she is a short drive away from options. Me... I'm doing nothing and enjoying every minute of nothing. I'm 20 minutes from a decent sized town (Longview, WA) and one hour from downtown Portland. Not that I plan on going to the hell scape that is now Portland but should I need something only found in town I'm within striking distance. Sunset from our last night by the lake...
  18. Navigator 8/21/23 = $70.99 Harmony 12/10/23 = $72.99 Harmony 12/17/23 = $73.50 Adventure 02/16/24 = $70.99 Liberty. 09/26/24 = $79.99 Icon 11/30/24 = $91.99. 😱 Anything further out has nothing listed yet.
  19. Anything under $70 seems to be a pretty good these days.
  20. All of the short cruises I have been on they had a "Dress your best" night. Typically I'll wear a suite and tie. I keep planning on buying a tux for formal nights but just haven't got around to it.
  21. I'm applying for the job... I've got a premium subscription to weather.com paid up until April 30 2024. If the gig works out I'll re-up my subscription for another year.
  22. 🙂 I agree. I know that there are some ships I don't want to sail. Pretty much any ship smaller than Voyager class. The exception to that might be if it was a really special itinerary, like the Panama Canal. Otherwise, I like the entertainment you find on the larger ships.
