  1. Yes, sorry I should have included that as well. Vancouver too
  2. That wasn't me... I just asked the question for information sake. The question was answered. I don't think the narrative is switching.
  3. Go to your documents in the cruise planner. You will find them there.
  4. Businesses don't stop advertising just because business is good. 🙂
  5. Every Pinnacle I have met has been wonderful. I met a great couple on Navigator back in January. We enjoyed each others company so much that we met and sat together in the SL happy hour each night. We even ended up sitting together in the ice show. I'm perplexed by the constant refrain of criticism.
  6. I'm not sure why this is the hill you want to die on but go ahead and fill your boots. This'll be my last response because this subject has become boring. The reality is, except for few noted exceptions, the majority of reports here on Cruise Critic indicate that diamond vouchers have been available to use on debarkation day. There has been no indication from Royal since the implementation of this program that they ever intended for the vouchers not to be available on debarkation day. As a matter fact the preponderance of use over the last 23 month indicates it was their intention to make them available on that day. If that changes, so be it. However, a few anecdotes of refusals does not indicate a change in policy or practice. It more likely indicates a staff misunderstanding which is something that is much more common than a refusal of service. Should there be increased incidence of refusals on debarkation day I will consider that notice to not expect to take advantage of this benefit on that day. Until that time, I'm planning on a fresh squeezed OJ and a Latte on debarkation day. As long as that is Ok with you?
  7. Yes, at midnight, Eastern time if the ship embarks from Florida. Midnight Central time if from Galveston and midnight Pacific time if from San Pedro.
  8. How do you know the call wasn't made by an in-house meteorologist working in Carnival Ops.
  9. I'm glad everything worked out ok and your daughter was fine. How much did they charge for the medical visit?
  10. It was sarcasm. If people are arguing that things being different on a particular cruise day is a precondition for the diamond beverage being disqualified from use and you are stating that embarkation day is also different than other days. The extension of that argument is that no diamond drinks on embarkation day as well. Of course that is a preposterous argument. However, that is the logical extension of the "things are different so they are not qualified" argument. If people want to argue that something isn't available on a particular day, a day recognized by the cruise line by its inclusion as a day in their app and online sales promotions, they are going to have to pick a better argument. I agree that Royal should make a simple, declarative state indicating whether they are or are not included and establish a policy fleet-wide. In the absence of that I will assume diamond drinks are available on debarkation morning until told otherwise as they have been on the seven cruises I have taken since the voucher program has been established.
  11. Just as a follow up since I realized I should have included this... Price also factors into it as well. I've got Adventure booked in Feb 24 almost exclusively because the price, at the time itineraries were released, was remarkably low. The itinerary was good and helped in the decision but price was the driving factor on that one. Dec 10/23 we have Harmony booked and that decision was based on a combination of price and ship without regard for Itinerary. We are paying for it all and going with our daughter, her husband and their three teenage children. When presenting my daughter with three options she choose this one. Her choices were... 8 nights on adventure (best itinerary, oldest, smallest ship) 7 nights on Harmony (Biggest ship, most typical itinerary ) 6 nights on Odyssey (Newest ship, decent itinerary) The prices were in that order from lowest to highest but were all reasonably close to one another. She choose Harmony, mostly for the kids sake. They have only been on one cruise before (Adventure of the Seas) and wanted to experience something different. The ports didn't make a difference to them since they have limited experience. All were similar in price
  12. I promise you won't have trouble getting a chair by the pool in Alaska in Sept. 🙂
  13. Keep checking the available check in times. If there is a cancellation that checkin time will be made available.
  14. For me it is a combination of both. I want to sail Voyager class or higher but different ports and itineraries are big selling features too. I'll probably do a smaller ship for the Panama Canal cruise since that is the only option but will mostly stick to the mid to large size ships.
  15. There hasn't been anything on Navigator in a while.
  16. I guess no latte's on day one since things being different is a precondition to things being disallowed.
  17. If you are staying in a suite you can have the concierge do that for you about a week in advance of your cruise. Otherwise, once you get on board got strait to any specialty restaurant and have them set up dining. It is fast and easy and most people report getting any all of their requests without much problem.
  18. I purchase the dozen waters from Royal but also bring a six pack along as well. DW wants/needs alkaline water, so that is what we carry onboard.
  19. Will they give me $25 for every towel. I turn in in excess of the ones that I have checked out?
  20. San Pedro doesn't either. They charge for each 24 hour period.
  21. They don't. Experience tells us that debarkation day is included. Some have experienced problem,s being told they don't work on debarkation day. That is the exception rather than the rule.
  22. Thanks, that is a change since we were on board. I prefer the free one anyways. In port you actually have something to look at. 🙂
