  1. If you have the reservations linked you will indeed be able to do check-in for all of those linked to you. They will show up in your reservation list for the same cruise. I did it recently with friends from Australia. Instead of doing full CheckIn, I simply clicked on CheckIn time and selected the same time for all 4 of us. They were then able to go in at their leisure and put in Passport/Photos and Credit Card.
  2. No one understands the logarithms utilized by the 3rd party Upgrading Company as they are proprietary and thus unexplainable. I would first do a mock booking and see what inventory may be available at this time (72 hours out). They will be locking down the reservation system at 48 hours so little time to think about it. Good chance is the prices are based on current bids received and trying to get additional bids. Also a good chance any bid would even be considered if that class of cabin is already sold out - unless a cancellation comes in today.
  3. I just checked mine and since my booking is with an Agent it requires me to contact my TA to add gratuities. I presume if you are direct with Celebrity you can do it yourself on line.
  4. I will only say that the number of Retreat Privilege passengers permitted on any one cruise is extremely limited. Most Retreat Guest that use this program are not using it for someone in an inside cabin but I guess it is possible. We have only used it once and was for my BIL/SIL that we were treating to a cruise and booked them in Aqua due to no suites available. Their is really no less impact on Retreat had we booked them in the same RS as us, but NEVER would even consider that. If the program is advantageous to you, feel free to see if it is available.
  5. You are correct. I was just looking at my booking and it says I can make reservation after final payment. Final Payment is not due until April 17. I'm on Regatta in a Vista Suite and there are only 2 Specialty so guessing I don't need to log in at 12:01 - does it activate as soon as Final Payment is made? My agent usually asks me to pay a couple days early to ensure no snags.
  6. My understanding is that Starlink is only licensed in 40 countries. It is not licensed for use in India, Vietnam and China and many other countries. When a ship with Starlink enter these countries they have to turn off Starlink and revert to the old satellite system. As other have also indicated the basic Wifi is throttled down to about 1.5 M down and .75 upload which is the cause of many webpages that are data intensive fail. Many report that Cruise Critic often fail due to all the behind the scene advertisement scripts.
  7. I was surprised they were selling so quickly, I'm happy we have it booked. I'm sure we will take it. The one we booked merged perfectly with a cruse we have booked 3 days after arrival in Southampton, which will give us plenty of time to fly to Istanbul.
  8. A quick search will show a thread which is already discussing this subject.
  9. Reality is that it isn't a couple hundred. The cost is $100 pp/pd. It is probably more expensive than someone is getting if they bid on and Upgrade.
  10. We had the choice to add them when making a reservation (after dropped from All Included). You can have Celebrity or Agent add them after booking. I really don't worry about it and they add it automatically daily and it is applied to NR OBC first.
  11. I'll keep an eye on it. Just bought my shares on the Jan 26 slump at 15.75. I've sailed Celebrity Exclusively for 23 years and the credits had removed any risk of stock price fluctuations. I didn't realize how well RCL had been doing until I went into my account to sell off some of my Celebrity to buy these shares. I bought 200 shares of RCCL at about $13 over 20 years ago. Last week I sold 16 share at $130 giving me enough to get my 100 shares of Carnival.
  12. LOL ---- That must have been a fun evening. You are the only one I knew that survive the full Dry January many gave in at the half way point.
  13. Mike - Really enjoyed reading your well written review. I was thinking Brrrrrrr when you wrote of the temperatures the morning of your departure.
  14. Supposedly you have to Opt In to receive Marketing Material. Even though I did I still don't receive the move up announcement. Another thing to check if you put in name and reservation number and get rejected. Try your spouse (if a different last name). Half of the time they are in Iain's Last name and half in mine.
  15. Yes - The packages only cover wine by the glass. If you purchase a bottle they will apply you cc discount and also add 20% Gratuity. You can either have the bottle sent to your room or have them hold it for the next night. You can also have it sent to a specialty restaurant.
  16. Yes they will have options for your Free CC minutes, Basic Ships wifi without connection to the outside world and Whatever package you have. Both you and your travel partner will need to set up accounts separately. If you have Basic Wifi with the Always Included, you will have that option plus another option to upgrade to Premium (they will include the cc discounted price). If you are fine with the package you have just choose Classic Included.
  17. HI Joan - Does the price vary by ship? I just checked my April cruise Solstice and showing on sale for $15.99 pp/pd
  18. Just a couple reference points Hourly and Daily Internet - They do have both but are extremely expensive. They are for continuous hour and continuous 24 hours - Las time I saw the 1 hour was 24.95 and 24 hour was 49.95 (not sure if that was discounted) They no longer sell the Basic Internet but you can get it as part of a all perk package (internet and drink package ) Your best bet might be to look for sales and buy the Internet package. Buy one and then keep searching for sales if a sale comes along just cancel and rebook. On my cruise planner currently on sale at 30% off.
  19. Looking forward to another chapter in the Incredible Travel Life of Charla and Jeremy. Did you pop the Cork at 12:01?
  20. Quick question. How far in advance can you apply for the Credit - I have a booking for November.
  21. Rather a simple process - Open Phone and on WiFi Select - "Ship's Name" - Guest Open App and click button Internet or on Browser go to Guest.onboardicafe.com You can also shoot a QR Code found in Daily to take you to the site You will get a window to create an account - You enter your Portfolio Number (number on SeaPass) User Name Birthday MM/DD 4 Digit Pin You next get a screen and you can select - Free Wifi (Celebrity Only), CC Free Minutes, Package or Purchase Package . Your will look different since I'm a Zenith and get a second free account.
  22. I've done many TransAtlantic. The WiFi works pretty well on the crossing, but it is not uncommon to loose connectivity for a couple hours. The most common area where we have lost connectivity is the day prior to the Azores. As other have said you can either get the CC Discount or the Sale price but not both as they do not allow double dipping.
  23. I've always met our room attendant. They usually come to the door right after boarding and introduce themself. They also leave their card with name and phone number. If I should need anything I usually just give them a ring or if something not urgent I leave a note on the bed before dinner and they take care of it at their leisure.
  24. Celebrity has never carried Paxlovid. I would think the cost of approx $1,300 would be one of the reasons, as well as the rebound rate of over 20% I always carry Covid Tests with me when traveling and was able to obtain a supply of Paxlovid for use just in case. In discussion with Celebrity Staff and some passengers I've know that have tested positive while on-board - They were quarantined for 5 days and then released with no further testing. They received Future Cruise Certificates equal to Room Rate for number of days in isolation.
  25. Thanks for the replies. I confirmed with my agent and the fare he is quoting is 100% refundable until final payment date. I had him go ahead and book it as there are only 3 Queen Grill room remaining for the 2025 cruise. I guess if there are rooms available when we sail October 2024 we could always cancel and re-book. BTW - do they offer Future Booking Certificates like many lines that you can book and get the onboard perks by booking withing XX months?
