  1. I understand that one well... Where is your valet? Unless you are changing your mind on what to bring, your valises should be at the ready for the ship!!! LOL bon voyage
  2. Yeah, the poster is, then again the next thoughts about the staff which might be more representative is not far behind, IME of such statements, then again... bon voyage
  3. IME, when there has been less than 'optimal' occupancy for X (or other lines for all this matters) it has been disclosed and on X ships, quite a few passengers said as such while they were on their sailing. A few even reported numbers as told to them while aboard. While cabins may not have been 100% "fully" booked, I Am sure the passenger count has approximated what X would consider at least fully booked. Additionally, there have been a few posts where those traveling in The Retreat reported that was full as I found that there were few cabins at a price point I was willing to pay available. My post was pointed to passenger count and not price of cabins which are two (2) different poi's. Currently, there have been no onslaught reports of staffing shortages, yet I do presume that is still an issue to some degree. Thank you and bon voyage
  4. One never knows, yet I Am sure not in my lifetime, will that happen... LOL bon voyage
  5. I understand and accept, to a great degree, the concerns about ships being full over a certain period of time for vacationers who might run out of money to do so... Yet, it is my clear recollection that pre-pandemic, E Class ships were running full and there were a group of us contributing to this discussion, pro or con. At that time, here on CC there were those (some who remain around) acclaimed that the pricing could not be sustained at those levels... then as now, I believed that supply and demand would dictate pricing and not ship building based on what a few vocal few demanded or disliked. E Class was here to stay... the following builds had modifications made based on comments from passengers and crew. Did each one make the cut, obviously not... Not all of the 60+ 'loyal' passengers were chased away, only a few. Those who remain (and not on CC) continue to fill The Retreat lodgings, to wit on the next few sailings we have booked very few suites are available and those that are, are well outside our budget so we are very happy to sail in an IV without any attachment to the cabin style only the location. I accept that there will be dissent on new presentations/designs and do accept that some 'loyal' passengers will defect to other lines, permanently and that is great. Choices. Spend money where one will be happiest and accommodated on many levels. Just because some of us enjoy the new setup does not mean that everyone else needs to enjoy it.. Thank you for your input, regardless and bon voyage
  6. I, respectfully, disagree on this point as most of the E-Class ships are sailing relatively full and have been for a while. Those who have posted here that have actually sailed in an IV and posted they enjoyed or not or thought that they would and did or did not... then there are those who have not sailed in an IV and have posted they would not under any circumstances because they (IV's) are not traditional balconies and I do respect that for sure... as we all want what we want when we sail and should expect that experience as paid for. Now, if you meant to say that the IV do not meet the 'desires' of many current long time X passengers here on CC, then I can readily agree with that statement without question or pause. bon voyage
  7. JI I believe so, it is directly from X's website... bon voyage
  8. Post Cruise Questions or Comments: cec@celebrity.com bon voyage
  9. Do not worry about this IF you are dining in one of the MDR's, I Am sure that this charge is for Specialty Dining Rooms that charge entrance fees. As such, methinks that the T&C's are not in the correct place. Initially, an over reaction IMO... To wit, no one who posts on CC has complained about receiving such a charge for MDR's as of yet... LOL bon appetit and bon voyage
  10. nag - My bad, needed to add: any place where alcohol can be served and consumed aboard... LOL Thank you for pointing that out!!! Cheers and bon voyage
  11. mw - you can consume your wine anywhere on the ship, you just cannot bring a bottle out of the cabin, but a glass, yes!!! I Am not sure how it would work if you brought an 'open' bottle of wine to one of the dining venues, that would be an ask when aboard... Cheers and bon voyage
  12. Many of us would recommend using an insurance broker like Steve Dasseos at tripinsurancestore.com yet you may want to call them to ask any and all questions or concerns you may have. Steve and his staff can work with you on the best way to handle situations like this, going forward, so as to best not get a claim denied and help with the filing. Many of us who post here have had wonderful experience with this firm pre- and post- travel. Personally, while I know they are in the insurance business, I say they are in the Customer Service business foremost to ensure that all goes well in the unfortunate event a claim needs to be made. bon voyage
  13. Yeppers, this change happened some time ago... A few posters have been miffed at the cost of the new package because it would have been more "economical" to just get that package vs AI or CPB... A financial loop which X has closed, somewhat... Cheers and bon voyage
  14. Thank you for the review... @fryfrye your review almost tacks with friends who cruised with us and their, then, six (6) yo... on The Edge. First two (2) nights she wanted to be with the group, by night three (3) dinner could not be over quickly enough in order for her to get to Camp... The coup de grâce was the sleep over at the camp... parents were nervous, as expected, but their DD was insistent, won out and had a fantastic time!!! She preferred Camp to tours (even when it was closed they had to take her down so she could verify) LOL This was her first cruise and parents are thinking of taking her on RCL... thinking she might like it, we shall see... Thank you again and bon voyage
  15. dk - no not you!!! LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  16. mm - many of us who have drink packages need no justification to purchase.... We only need to justify, in rare cases, moving up to the PBP and in my case, no justification for that is needed... and I cannot tell anyone if I breakeven or not, the fact that I do not get a bill at the end for our various drink consumption, is my justification... Cheers and bon voyage
  17. Are you counting 'alcoholic' drinks only? I think you may want to go to X's website to see what is in each of the beverage packages and then you will be in a position to fully calculate how many drinks are needed to 'break even'.... for each package. Cheers and bon voyage
  18. I do not disagree with you cs 'in total', yet I do believe that depending on how many similar complaints any AG gets, will determine how or if they will investigate further than sending X a letter and they respond accordingly. Yes, I Am speculating that most AG's will do a pro-forma investigation as X did advise the passenger that the fare was dis-allowed due to not living in the state for the special fare. This is not to say that X's IT system went crazy as the OP was making the reservation and gave the fare regardless. But it is to say that someone at X caught it and offered the OP options. Before the pandemic airlines were often caught off guard with mistake fares, now they offer the flyer an option, either cancel and re-book at the the rate they should have been offered at booking or canceling altogether. Just thinking about it, the OP can go on a Social Media Campaign against X over this and possibly get the originally booked fare... at what future consideration to sail X again, even if they wanted to??? Again, my similar situation with a TA who quoted an incorrect price and accepted my full payment immediately was in a corner... I was able to keep the fare, but I willingly gave up the OBC from both which was far less than the difference in fare. I never thought about going to our AG over this as I understood it was a mistake fare and was given a few options, none of which I was thrilled about but we came to an amicable agreement in the end... and I sailed and continue to with X. I think the OP needs to do what they want to do in this situation... and/or reject the options provided or come up with an option that they can sail with and present to X. I wish them luck in whatever the end result is, hopefully to their satisfaction... bon voyage
  19. d2 - I Am sure you are correct, as I always have the PBP and as such never look to see if there are special drinks of the day, as often in the past what was on special appeared to be a bit too sweet for my taste...... LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  20. Thank you for this update, as I may have a KAL flight in 2025... bon voyage
  21. Calling the state's AG office? X can say that the fare shown was not a valid fare for the resident of another state, NOW if the OP has proof in the form of the email and invoice confirming that they did not put in an incorrect state, there could be legs to stand on. While a long shot, I do not think any AG office will do anything about this situation unless there are a few additional complaints about this type of situation. X was correcting a mistake fare and cannot be compelled to honour it, although I must say a few years ago a TA gave me a mistake fare and I paid in full right away. When found, between X and the TA they ate the difference after I proved that I paid what was quoted, full well knowing that by all (X's T&C's) rights, I most likely needed to pay the additional... or cancel. My compromise was to give up some OBC to show good faith... In the end all worked out for sure as everyone was happy and I sailed... bon voyage
  22. Love your perspective on this... Thank you... bon voyage
