  1. Ok...found the port referenced above. Seyðisfjörður Beautiful weather, hardly a cloud in the sky. Hard to imagine that remaining ports are being canceled due to weather!
  2. Well, this particular cruise has been interesting to say the least! Our itinerary has been changed 3 times now if I am tracking all of the letters in cabin and captain announcements. We were to do 4 ports in Iceland. We just did one yesterday that was a substitute...I don't have access to the name as I am typing this...it started with "S" and looked very difficult to pronounce (for me anyway!) Anyway, it appears as if we will be bypassing the remainder of the ports due to weather. Disappointing.

  4. Are you asking about a certain ship or just in general? I believe that is standard on all ships.
  5. Agree 100% with what you say...as long as you are traveling with only people in your cabin...when you are *generally * together...or as you suggested to arrange for a message at a certain time. However, we very often are traveling with couples in more than 1 cabin. Very often we need to send/receive a message at unknown times...just like standard texting. And usually I am the only one with Android. That would require the bulk of the group to accommodate me with WhatsApp...not a good scenario. Luckily my DW uses iPhone so she is the communication manager...which really isn't much different from my everyday life! 😅 She tells me what I need to know!

Well, given that the app developers have yet to learn how to give you an active alert (either visual or audible) when you receive an on-board message, the app is next to useless for communication with your friends on board. WhatsApp lets you know (just like "standard" SMS texting) that you have a message. Otherwise you have to constantly check the medallion app to see if you've received anything. In my opinion...useless for this function.
  7. I cannot give you a definitive answer but in our experience I have never seen anybody "checking" medallions.
  8. We like to book minis on the Riviera deck (14) on the newer ships. That way you can be assured that there will be nothing but cabins above and below.
  9. There was no laundry bag and laundry "tickets". Had to chase someone down in the hall to get bathroom tissue (half a roll when we got into our cabin). No pen or pad. Have not had any totes for at least 4 or 5 cruises now, but really don't care about those. We have quite the collection at home now. Seems like there was something else but it doesn't come to mind right now.
  10. Thanks. Let me clarify...he's not "bad"...we're just a bit surprised because we've had such good luck with stewards in the past.
  11. We are currently on the Sky but did not receive any type of "menu" as is being described...but then our steward has not been the best we've seen. We've had to ask for several things that are *always* in the cabin when we arrive.
  12. @PacnGoNow has given you some good troubleshooting steps. If the cruise doesn't show up on the main website it definitely will not show in the app.
  13. I would check to see if there is a roll call. You may have better responses that way.
  14. When you say "it doesn't work", what exactly do you mean? Are you getting an error message? Something else? We need a bit more info in order to help.
  15. You can book excursions. As far as I know that's all.
  16. You will probably have at least a couple of "enrichment" talks. If you've done many cruises at all you've probably seen most of what will be available.
  17. Agreed! Just because it is not offered on this cruise doesn't mean that it will *never* be reinstated.
  18. That being said...it's not blazing by any means but certainly better than I've seen on my last 4 or 5 cruises since restart. I can at least open websites and it has even let me post a few pics here on CC.
  19. Have not done any calling out myself but I did receive a call via WhatsApp yesterday from my son.
  20. Definitely is on Sky. All of my speedtests show as being routed via Starlink.
  21. Slightly off topic...currently on the Sky and they are listing fish & chips under the Favorites listing.
  22. I can do most anything that I normally do...which isn't really that much. However...I have noticed a trend over the past few cruises where I cannot get to my email (Comcast/Xfinity) either through my normal email client or their web portal. Nothing to do with Starlink...they appear to be blocking some ports and have been doingso for some time. I can only check my email in ports. Very aggravating!
