Oh dear, I am a bit of a food hoarder, got enough tins etc in my pantry to last for ever, almost and my fridges and freezer are bulging. I get on the on line ordering for Coles/Woolies delivery and keep pressing the buttons, like booking a cruise.😬
At least I can hide from the 100,000 tourists down here for the next month.lol.
Yes I saw Emma's report on YT. I think Ambassador Cruises might not last long.
I was on her last cruise as ye olde Regal Princess in August/Sept 2007, LA to Sydney before rebirth as Pacific Dawn. She is getting worn out now. These older vessels need to be well maintained.
Re Ambience, my half sister in Essex UK was booked on the next cruise to Canary Islands over Christmas /New Year from Tilbury. I just spoke to her, she got an E mail yesterday from Ambassador Cruise Line saying her cruise is cancelled as the ship is in drydock. She got full refund and 15% off future cruise.
Clean ordered by NZ Authorities, environmental issue. Unfortunate for the pax.
The Coral Princess Environmental Officer will be getting a kick up the rear for overlooking the need for the hull clean.
Thanks Linda, keeping a low profile, not real well, getting fed of up of doctors and injections, Urologists, Oncologists, PET scans etc. I was at Moruya today for a jab in the stomach (Leuprorelin) thank God for my newly issued Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, the full cost was $908. Have a good Christmas and to all others on here.❤️🎅
More than a few restaurants in Sydney have provision for a tip/gratuity on the bill.
Even down here in Batemans Bay at more upmarket eateries and many more have ye olde tip jar on the counter, even the local bakery/cafes.
The Icon class ships hold 7500 pax at full capacity, ye gods, not for me. 2400 crew that is nearly 10,000 people on a ship. Hope they have ample life boats!
Neither, pax were just appreciative of good service from tour director and driver.
Even locally I tip the waitstaff a few dollars if the service is good. Just my nature.
I tip my hairdresser $5, saying have a coffee on me.
Back in 97 we did a 14 day coach tour of NZ with Guthreys Pacific. I recollect on the last day the Tour Director passed the hat around for tips for him and driver. They were not backward in coming forward and from my observation just about every pax put some $ into ye olde hat. It was a good tour so nobody really objected to the 'whip around.'
My half sister in Essex, UK is on 'Ambience' doing Canary Islands, Xmas/New Year. Recent reviews of the ship are not that good. Apparently run down. She is operating from Tilbury, Essex.
Ye olde Regal Princess and Pacific Dawn lives on ! Sort of.
