  1. https://www.ncl.com/prohibited-items 1. All illegal narcotics/drugs. (Including Marijuana prescribed for medical purposes and other items used as drug paraphernalia. This includes Hookah Pipes, CBD products, THC products). If you want to try to bring these substances despite the warning, be aware of the risk of violating the policies. Doesn't matter what the laws of the embarkation, debarkation or visited ports are. As noted above - MARITIME LAW, which governs the ships, prohibits the substances.
  2. which I believe was explained in the threads I linked above...
  3. Rumor is all of them may be, but that may be based on how the new concept is received on the Prima and the earlier ships that get it. Here are some previous threads on the topic, there may be more discussion of the timing in them.
  4. It's available to me - $70.80 ($59 plus gratuities) for 2 more meals.
  5. Because if the person I was trying to help was in one that should get 2 then they would need to address the issue.
  6. They're probably quoting the policy as it relates to deviation requests for air travel. I'm not sure why they would do that with airfare not in play.
  7. I'm aware, that's why I asked the question and made the statement I did...
  8. What cabin type? Certain cabin types only get one. I also booked a 7-night cruise for March 2023 and I only got one, I booked a Studio.
  9. Ya know, I thought they were! Hmm, if I get an upgrade bid offer, a $200 pp bid to go to a balcony from a studio would still save me money over what a balcony on my booked trip would cost as of right now...
  10. I would first start with deciding WHERE you want to go. Once you've decided that, look at the lines and ships that go there and decide which line has a ship that appeals to you and visits ports you would have an interest in. Side note from a recent personal experience on this - I'm planning a cruise for next March, decided where I wanted to go and booked a cabin for my usual line. I then looked at a cruise for the same week on a line my parents like cruising and saw a nicer room type was almost the same price BUT it visited one less port and at least one of the other ports was different so I'm staying with my original plan.
  11. Yes, upgrades are a per-person bid based on double occupancy of the cabin you're upgrading to so your bid would be doubled
  12. certainly more pleasant than some of the other conversations that have been floating around the last couple days!
  13. It shouldn't be. At least on the Breakaway and Breakaway+ ships at least one of the MDRs is open for lunch on embarkation day, go there and meet with the host/hostess, they might go get someone higher up to discuss your needs with and they should also bring a menu for that evening's dinner to select a meal from.
  14. NCL doesn't know what other trips you have planned. NCL is offering a goodwill credit because you chose to book early (and were presumably happy with the price of the trip at the time you booked). There is no obligation to credit you anything.
  15. Prima. I haven't looked at recent reviews of it but some initial peeks seem to be a game similar to what the Putt Shack offers on land, a little more advanced than seen on previous ships and possibly having to be licensed from them (costing money).
  16. IS the fare higher with the perks included? Sure. If you want those perks, add up what they would cost you to get the sail-away cabin and add the 2-meal SDP, drink package for a week, a small internet package. Take this cruise as an example - 7-night Eastern Caribbean on the Escape, March 18-25, 2023. Balcony cabin for one (I sail solo) Sailaway cabin, with no perks is $1798 plus taxes and port fees. You get no option to select the cabin (at least at the time of booking). $1,966 gets you on board. If you want specialty dining ($89), drinks ($109/day PLUS gratuities) and get a 250 minute internet package ($105) you have now spent way more than you would have if you had simply taken the cabin with the perks included (see below) WITH the perks, the cabin is $1919 plus taxes, port fees and gratuities, $2298 gets you on board with all the drinks you could want, 2 nights of specialty dining, 150 minutes of internet. If the perks don't matter to you - book the sailaway rate and don't buy the packages. If you like drinking even a few drinks a day, by all means get the perks-included cabin. Then you have cruises like this one, where the sailaway rate is HIGHER than the perks-included rate -
  17. There can't be a current price to sell a cabin if there are no cabins to sell. If you're not happy with your cabin price I'm sure NCL would be able to find someone else willing to stay in that cabin for that price if you decide to cancel it.
  18. Some of you are just adding confusion to this topic. The OP asked about the FREE air perk, often advertised with NCL cruises as an example. In the case of NCL they do also offer flight booking services where NCL can get discounted rates and act as the TA for your flight booking to get you a slightly better price on your preferred airline, route and timing; just as other lines do (as described by @Ride-The-Waves). The FREE AIR perk the OP is asking about is often where the cruise line takes full control over the flight booking including the airline, route and timing chosen for the flight at least in the case of NCL. For my next cruise, on NCL where I was offered reduced airfare, I decided to decline it as I can get direct flights to/from MCO from/to my home airport on Southwest (an airline NCL hasn't used), flights that are actually good times for a cruise. The flights cost more but I prefer SWA and I can't turn down the option of direct flights and still having full control of my flight when the current air travel situation is considered!
  19. Here's a thread from August on this very topic (found by simply typing 'celiac' in the search box, it was the second result, this thread being the first...) My niece and SIL are gluten intolerant or Celiac and have done well on a cruise before, but that was on another line. Cruise lines do NOT want you getting sick if they can prevent it so they are very conscious of these things and take precautions.
  20. the OP has been an absolute ray of sunshine (can you sense the sarcasm?) in other recent threads in which they have participated. Take that for what it's worth...
  21. You can also get Lobster Thermidor in Le Bistro...
  22. or... if it's a dry-dock for the Joy maybe they're re-deploying the Escape on the Joy itineraries?
  23. Only need to explain it to those making the dining reservations. One person can reserve a table for up to 10 in most venues. You could have a couple people reserve for 6 or 8 (2 or 3 people making reservations) and then decide who is going to be in which group later. All 15 of you won't be able to eat together anywhere except in the MDR, and each person reserving for themselves will result in 15 2-person table reservations.
  24. hmm, 6 years since build, 4 years since the 'conversion' from the Asian market to the NA market. I wonder if it's a dry-dock. Either they're a year late or work was done in 2019 to satisfy the dry dock schedule to extend a year. Except, that's only 3 weeks, unless they only need a week or they found a yard in the Western hemisphere to complete the work needed there just isn't time to get the ship to Europe and back.
