  1. apologies, I thought I had it in there. So you're saying if I put a studio cabin on hold now using the discounts, make final payment then decide to upgrade to a balcony when prices drop I would retain the discounts?
  2. Except the discounts have expiration dates. The $100 has to be used by tomorrow, the 10% by the end of the month.
  3. I know some here are TA's here (though they can't say and advertise it, I know), I have a question regarding booking and discounts. I currently have on my Latitudes account a 10% off voucher (auto loaded on my account, my sister has one as well) and a $100 gift for sailing during the "great cruise comeback" (sailed in March of this year). I'm planning on booking a cruise for next March (to be clear, I'm not asking anyone here to be my TA to book it). I'd LIKE to go in a balcony but as a solo it's almost $2k right now, a bit rich for me when I consider I need to fly down and get a hotel for the night before. If I book a studio (a more manageable cost at the moment), with the discounts applied, does that 'lock in' my discounts? If I decide, even after final payment, that I want to move to a balcony can I have those savings applied to that room instead or do I lose them? I'm feeling like booking right now would be foolish as the $300 or so that I'd save with the discounts NCL is offering me is WAY less than I'd save if I wait until the solo supplement is discounted before I book. BUT - if I can 'lock in' the discounts on a booking and then upgrade to a different room (while keeping the discounts) I could save a little more. Since the sailing is more than 120 out, I could always book with the discounts and my CruiseNext deposits (so there's no money out of pocket yet), then if I change my mind before FP I can just cancel and get my CND's back on my account and lose the discounts. Yes, I know I can likely do a one-time category upgrade if/when there's a price drop, or get OBC for 25% of the difference in the cost of the room (apparently not as common of an offer anymore though). Your wisdom is MUCH appreciated! Thanks
  4. There's another forum section related to general money saving topics for any/all cruise lines, and also one specifically for Military cruisers. The post would be most appropriate there rather than advertising info about one cruise line in competitor cruise line's forum section. 5. First result when using 'arrivecan' in Google - https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/services/arrivecan.html
  6. Except I have two CND's, I'd use one of them on this trip and did not factor that into the per-day price I indicated above
  7. For the October Canada/NE sailings? I just looked - 9 night on Adventure of the Seas, similar ports, INSIDE cabin is over $1.7K (incl. taxes and fees) for a solo, 3x as much as the balcony on the BA for a solo. A solo can get a balcony on the Joy 10-night sailing departing on the same day for under $1.7K (incl. taxes, fees and specialty dining grats).
  8. @oteixeira you're on the 10-day Getaway trip I had also seen and thought about. I'm probably contacting a TA today to get a 7-night Breakaway trip out of NY booked during the same time - with taxes and port fees (and declining the beverage package) it's about $115/night to sail solo in a balcony. With the discounts NCL has offered me (loaded into my account, in addition to current discounts) I can get it under $90/night. I LOVE the Joy and Bliss, both are really nice ships. I may miss the OL if I sail on the Breakaway...
  9. I reported the thread hours ago, for either a move or a title update, no action yet...
  10. I was starting to think this was some really magical ship, and the time at the brewery was REALLY good... lol
  11. That may be when the map itself was created, the technology to 'draw' the ship's path isn't likely that old. Have they at least fixed the display to show the proper measurements? I noticed on my cruise in March that the wave height portion had the units hard-coded but were also being fed in with the numbers, as a result a wave height of 1.5m actually looked like 1.5mm... I did tell (and show) the CD about it, and he talked to someone that was going to look into it.
  12. Interesting to see that NCL has taken some of the criticism of Q as a specialty venue and moved it to be included in the food hall (even if the selection is pared down some). While the food was good at Q on the Bliss, I just can't justify using a dining credit to eat there as it was reasonably-priced.
  13. In general - there will be various trivia sessions through the day and week, various game shows, theater shows at night, music being performed in various venues around the ship. There is also, generally, a solo traveler's gathering at one of the bars (since that ship doesn't have a Studio Lounge) before dinner each night. Look for any of the 'live' threads or posts about the Freestyle Daily from various ships and you can get an idea. Try to look for the ones for the smaller ships to get the best idea. A CC tip - at the top of the topic list for the forum is a small drop-down that you can select a ship name from, that's a pre-configured search to find threads mentioning the ship you select.
  14. It's right on the COVID-19 cancellation policy - https://www.ncl.com/refund-and-cancellation-policy-covid-19 Denial of Embarkation or Reboarding; Quarantine and/or Disembarkation If you, your family members, travelling companions or other close contacts are denied embarkation or reboarding, or are quarantined or disembarked during the voyage, due to a positive COVID-19 test or being suspected of having COVID-19, you and they are entitled to a prorated refund, or an optional Future Cruise Credit (“FCC”), for the amount paid to Norwegian in the event of denial at embarkation, or the unused portion of your fare in all other cases
  15. The same change has been made to every sailing since the rock slides closed docks at Skagway a month ago.
  16. All the smoking areas are listed in the FAQ on NCL's site - https://www.ncl.com/faq#!#smoking That said - one space listed is Spice H20 (which is closed and the OP was asking if there was a replacement area designated), but listed with that is the space you mention mid-ship on deck 15 port side.
  17. Per this page, only those two ships. https://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian/cruise-entertainment Bliss is a beautiful ship (sailed on her twice in the space of 6 months), I'm considering Breakaway for my next trip. There are some differences, and those differences actually make the BA a little LESS desirable for the trip I'm considering - Observation Lounge on the Bliss would be perfect for a Canada/New England trip in late October but the BA does not have it. SIX is a GREAT show, IMO. Similar itineraries (or similar desire for the itineraries) and similar costs for the trip, I'd almost consider it a tipping point in favor of the ship with the show.
  18. Only if you're booking the cruise less than 120 days before sailing. Haven and some higher tier Latitudes members can book 130 days pre-cruise. Bookings open for everyone else at 120 days.
  19. As has been said several times in this thread - that depends on how the OBC was issued.
  20. That's different from the promotional air that the OP was asking about.
  21. There hasn't yet been a revenue cruise, not sure anyone has documented everything yet as some things are not fully operational. There is some discussion in the 'Everything...' thread regarding cost for darts, go-karts and mini golf (which appears to be a really cool advanced/electronic version that NCL is licensing).
  22. Not a concern for me. Except for a few select airports (unless I'm flying to a hub city) I can't fly anywhere without a connection unless I want to drive a couple hours to a different airport. Only ONE of the airports I can get a direct flight to on an airline with which I would fly is a gateway for cruising - MCO - and that is only one flight a day on Southwest.
  23. no, I actually think non-refundable is more common. while DSC is actually DISCRETIONARY Service Charge, it's often interchanged with the term 'gratuities' to normalize it with what other brands may call it.
  24. and that's where the search box comes in. Using the search term of OBC, refundable OBC or even non-refundable OBC and targeting thread topics you could have found posts discussing such in about 10 minutes rather than waiting over an hour, especially if time was important...
