  1. Pretty sure that's discussed in the big thread on the ship build/launch. Media/travel agent previews, similar to the events that happened before the first revenue sailing.
  2. NCL is enforcing the taxation and liquor laws of the jurisdiction where the ship is floating. Do others absorb those costs? Some might, but in this case NCL is just passing that along to the consumer.
  3. It MAY have been the same in Miami when I sailed on the Joy in March. The C&I folks are there to monitor for exceptions and address those when they come up. I think anyone with a non-US passport is flagged for scrutiny by C&I, they're shuffled off to the side for that evaluation.
  4. Certainly can! From https://dmv.ny.gov/driver-license/get-enhanced-driver-license-edl An Enhanced license (permit, or non-driver ID) is a New York State DMV issued document that you can use instead of a passport to return to the US by land or sea from Canada, Mexico and some countries in the Caribbean. New York's EDL is compliant with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI).
  5. Do you have a link or a screenshot for this? I don't see it listed on the NCL travel protection section of their site. My thinking, off the cuff, is that maybe the protection is normally sold by NCL and covered by Nationwide. Nationwide is no longer allowed to sell travel protection in New York. For that reason, the CFAR coverage may need to be purchased separately and this is why they're sending you in a different direction.
  6. @cruiseny4life or just get a NYS Enhanced Driver License, I see you're in NY. Similar rigmarole as getting a passport card at a lower cost and it gives you almost identical access. I could cruise on my NY EDL if I wanted to, no BC needed with it, but I like having the protection in case I need to debark in a foreign country and fly home for some reason.
  7. Best way to go about it! As I've noted before - I used the airfare perk in 2019, NCL booked me on a red-eye coming back East. What did I do? I rented a car and did some sightseeing around LA!
  8. For what it's worth - the ships that port in San Pedro (port near LA) DO reverse in the channel, at least the ones that dock parallel to the channel do as there isn't a turning basin near the pier so one way or the other they're going astern to traverse the channel. The Bliss sure does anyway, maybe there is a turning basin there but that ship is too big for it.
  9. Actually, it's fine! I spent lots of time in the pool over several days during my last cruise, my card went in a pocket of my swimsuit and I never had a problem.
  10. Yes, same place. I have some, I can definitively say that...
  11. oh, the ones that just get tossed in the recycle pile..
  12. I explained earlier in the thread. Well, later in the thread compared to the post you quoted, so you just need to read further...
  13. I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. The discussion is about coupons that have been added to our Latitudes accounts, a TA with your Latitudes account number would be able to ensure the trip is booked using the discounts available on your account. Additionally, you can see what discounts are available to you by logging in to your account on NCL's website.
  14. On a browser on your computer (might work on a browser on a mobile device as well but it may not work in the app) - sign in, click My NCL in the top right, click on My Account it'll be there. Same place other pre-loaded offers and CND's will appear.
  15. Each person may have a different code. If they have your Latitudes number they should be able to access the discounts/coupons on your account.
  16. https://www.google.com/search?q=parking+near+manhattan+cruise+terminal&rlz=1C1GCEB_enUS1006US1006&oq=parking+near+manhattan+cruise+terminal&aqs=chrome.0.0i512j0i22i30l6j0i390.6440j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 According to that there isn't a whole lot in really close proximity, you're looking at a walk of a couple blocks unless you use the terminal parking. There may also be further info in this forum section - https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/317-east-coast-departures/
  17. The article wasn't posted, but the dining portion was posted and discussed over the weekend -
  18. and yet there was a refundable on-board credit (only $10, but a credit none the less) when my cruise in March skipped Costa Maya, the credit appeared on the day we were to be in that port.
  19. Sure there is. All those spaces you mention are usually interior spaces. Can't put an exterior slide adjacent to an interior space. Balcony cabins are desired by most (or at least many) passengers, they're going to maximize availability of those and limit space dedicated to non-passenger use on the outside of the ship.
  20. It's almost as if they want you to know you can, it's right in the T&C's for the promo - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions Deviation Requests: Deviation requests up to 2 days pre/post cruise will be credited $25 USD per person per deviation for guests 1 and 3-8 on the reservation. No other deviation requests will be permitted. Date deviations can be added up to 75 days prior to embarkation.
  21. There you go, @Alifay BTW, that @ feature can be used to call a member's attention if you're looking for something they may have. and thanks @YVRteacher
  22. Unless they have portable tower heaters, it appears that there are no built-in heaters in the ceiling like the Bliss, Joy and Encore have. I had to look at some YouTube videos, found one of the Breakaway and compared it to one from the Encore.
  23. On my cruise in March I somehow accrued a charge at The Local on embarkation day, during sail-away when I was on deck.
  24. Simply trying to help someone help themselves. Information is out there if you look for it...
