  1. Couldn't have said it any better than @Sailing12Away did!
  2. Oh yeah. My first cruise - we couldn't use the outside decks at all on any of the sea days, the pools were drained (either on purpose or the water sloshed out of them), having lunch one day we hit a wave so hard it caused the helmsman to call for a reduction in speed (we felt at least a brief throttle back), and they had seasick bags in all the stairways. My next 3 cruises were smooth sailing. My cruise this March was smooth compared to that first one but there was a day they had the bags out, it was NOTHING though.
  3. And before that wasn't it Tropicana on some ships? Same argument could be made when that change happened. My thought exactly, I even had the post written almost verbatim and decided against it!
  4. 'pre-made', on a cruise ship? I just can't stop imaging a crew member seated by a microwave, putting something in, setting the time, waiting for time to be up, removing the item and putting in the next one - 3,000 times! lol
  5. Those sleeves may be tight, the lamination isn't needed and may make it a bit tight to get the tag in.
  6. What do they expect to be accomplished by cancelling one of the previous cruises? Do they expect that the week of not sailing would get the repairs done sooner?
  7. When booking a new cruise there's a note on the page when airfare is selected, that note indicates not to expect flight info until as close as 30 days before sailing. Some are getting it sooner (based on recent previous threads on the topic) but that's the time frame they're giving...
  8. I figured it was hurricane-related.
  9. Escape is in dry dock in France. That would be the Getaway.
  10. You are assured of this by simply stepping on board. The US Coast Guard won't let the ship sail if it doesn't have a minimum safety level. They will not shove off if they have only one engine running. The ship has 4 engines, they actually account for one to be offline for service at any given time. @chengkp75 can provide a more detailed answer on that
  11. I don't recall what it was made of, that was almost 10 years ago and I've slept since then. There were plenty of other memorable events that happened on that trip for me to remember that detail. I do recall seeing the bag as soon as I got to GS, they had the unclaimed bags right out front. I didn't get it until late though, kept checking to see if it was delivered.
  12. On my first cruise (on which I didn't have the handy luggage tag sleeve) both the paper tag, applied at home since I was driving to the port, AND one of those got torn off during loading from the drop off to the ship. I had to go to guest services to get my bag.
  13. It's not like it takes an hour. I put the tags in my carry-on with my documents, takes all of about 90 seconds to take them out and attach to the handle of my bag (using the sleeves with metal cable loops). You definitely don't want them on during flight, they could be torn off.
  14. Sorry to say, I have a feeling that pretty much ANY other ship is going to seem like there's nothing for kids to do in comparison to an Oasis-class ship, if that's your benchmark...
  15. Sharing such info is against the terms of CC, the ones you agreed to when you created your account. This is why they have PMs turned off.
  16. Bottom line - anywhere it might be appreciated for music to be played publicly at a given time there's a pretty good bet that NCL has a musician playing or some other activity planned. Playing on the balcony would be accepted about as much as a "boom box" being played on a balcony (or music playing through phone or Bluetooth speakers these days) - not at all. Inside the cabin? The cabin walls are thin, "activities" done in the 'privacy' of your cabin may not be as private as you think!
  17. There is an 11 page thread on the "plus" upgrade here: Are you asking about that $50 per person per day upgrade or just the base free-at-sea packages? For the base FAS plans, the 3rd passenger would pay full price for the SDP ($90 plus gratuities) and a beverage package (I believe a minor can get the soda plan, $10 per day plus gratuities). Only guests 1 and 2 get free internet minutes, the "upgrade" price is based on credit for the FAS plan minutes. You can always sign off from one device for a few minutes and sign in on the 3rd if that passenger doesn't need always-on internet. The plans are not device-specific, just that only one can be signed on at a time for each "plan".
  18. I totally get the slow to respond aspect! I have emails out to TWO right now, one hasn't responded at all (though I understand they may be on a TP cruise to NZ or AUS right now) and the other has been a matter of days between communications. I'm tempted to set myself up with a PCC at NCL and see what magic they can work for me. I have a deadline coming up (10% coupon expires in less than a week) and I'm 'waffling' on what cabin type I want to book for a Spring cruise based on some responses to questions I have...
  19. This gets asked A LOT. The T&C's of the promotion even calls out Cagney's and Le Bistro (both a-la-carte), identifying specifically that only one entree is allowed for at those venues. Yes, even Food Republic. i believe you are allowed up to 4 items from the menu for each dining credit. Maybe it's two? Here's a previous thread (from May this year) specifically about FR (first result in the Google search: NCL specialty dining credit food republic)
  20. October 23-30, 2022, Canada/New England on the Breakaway from New York. It's been this way for a while. Inside and Ocean View cabins are only $50 more to get the FAS perks. Oh - my pricing is for ONE in the cabin, I sail solo.
  21. Which is a solid concept, until you find this, the room WITH perks is a little over half the price of the room without!
  22. The smallest table in any of the venues is for 2 people. Even if you book for one person you will be assigned a 2-person table. This goes for ANYONE booking for an odd number at most venues on the ship (Teppanyaki excluded, I believe) - book for one higher than you have as that's the size table they need to give you.
