Very true, but only to the extent that those factors (and many, many others) make the buyer willing to pay more. Simplistic? Yes. Accurate? YES NCLH pricing is more complicated than many, because we have to factor in the buyers who will buy 100 shares at any ask price because they just discovered the Shareholder OBC benefit. That likely accounts for most of the increases. (yes, that was a joke)

It's because of two things: a) buyers were willing to pay more (the bid) b) sellers weren't willing to sell any cheaper (the ask) Just like every other individual stock. Sure, the media always likes to make up stuff to explain it, but it really doesn't work that way.

Just a minor point of clarification. Some in this thread seem to be equating Bliss itineraries with ISP and not Glacier Bay. While this is most common, there are some Bliss sailings that visit Glacier Bay and not ISP. New cruisers should check the NCL itineraries closely to see what they are getting.

Warning! Contrarian opinion ahead....... I would rather risk my Grandkids throwing away money than throwing it away myself. If they grow up to be idiots (they won't), I'm sure I can find a charity that can provide more benefit to someone in need than I would derive from an expensive first class seat that I don't need. Of course, there are other ways to provide for grandkid's real needs without handing them the keys. Cheap wine is fine regardless of how long my life is. I am 100% certain that I enjoy my cruises with cheap wine and inside rooms than some with the premium plus plus plus packages and a butler. Easy to prove. Just review the numerous threads on the forum posted by people that were miserable because their Haven room was noisy, or their butler was not attending constantly to their various "needs." Life is fun in steerage. Just watch that movie with Rose and Jack.🤣

I doubt that many expire, since they can easily be transferred to another person.

We've been to AK in April, May, July, September and October. Weather was never a big enough factor to make any of those months more desirable to me than the others. I focus more on ship and itinerary. Give me Bliss or Encore and Glacier Bay and I'm good to go. 😎

Of course not. We've missed it two out of four times, but after being there twice I can take it or leave it. I'm probably shifting over to my friend @complawyer's club when it comes to GSC. On the beach I get heat, free booze, a hamburger or tacos (with flies) and much more sun than my dermatologist would ever approve of (regardless of SPF bazillion long sleeve swim shirt and reef destroying sunscreen). On the ship I get a nice sit down lunch with free booze in the air conditioning without flies or skin cancer. Like I said, I can take it or leave it. My only disappointment last Friday was that DD and DW wanted to visit GSC.

Yeah, this. I embarked a week and a half ago and the process was simpler than it was pre-covid. Like the Bird said, it's basically "Are you deathly ill from Covid? No? Welcome aboard!" There was a lounge of shame that we saw at the end of the cruise. We were looking for someplace to hide/squat when they were trying to boot us off the ship (or not boot us off the ship, NCL is funny that way) on disembark doom day. We finally found some seats down on deck six near Magnums, but the NCL lady told us we had to move on. We realized that the dozen people already there all had masks on and were likely being told that they had to sit there until NCL told them that they would be booted out the back door. I think it is a modern version of a Leper Island. I felt sorry for those poor souls who didn't just self-quarantine after that first sneeze.

Did you used to see their expiration dates on your account summary screen? I honestly can't remember if they used to show up there or not.

The "dates" column in the "my coupons and credits" section of my on-line account summary (the page that shows all future bookings) is blank for all of them. There is an expiration date listed for some FCC they just gave me for a price drop after final booking. Is that where people were seeing the 2099 date?

We missed it on the Pearl last Friday. The weather was pretty nice and we sailed up just about to the island. Then the Captain came on and did a pretty crappy announcement (I think he was reading a script). They're getting so good at missing GSC that they already have Plan B excerpts for the daily composed. They just take about an hour to overload the printer and then distribute them. We did enjoy a nice lunch in the MDR that was not supposed to be open. Of course, they got the Casino opened PROMPTLY. 🤣

$440 "value"? 🤣 Seriously, I wouldn't pay more than about ten bucks to upgrade from the MDR/buffet/etc. to any of the specialty dining venues. Off course, I also sail in steerage.... I understand that many embrace all of those things, and for them it may be worth it. I really just want the laundry and an occasional 15% off Shorex. Getting to Platinum certainly brings some tangible benefits. Most of the other levels? Not so much. Also, priority boarding was broken in Miami for the last Pearl sailing. They never called any Latitudes levels, and they didn't use the PA to announce anything (it was in Terminal C and I don't think they had microphones). They just opened the doors and held up a Group one card. The stampede then began. With the usual Group 2, Group 3, etc. folks congregating and blocking the way for those who should have already been invited to board. Irritating? Yes, but I honestly forgot about all of that until this thread's mention of priority boarding. We got on the ship about ten minutes late, and it was all fun from then on. So yeah, it's mostly about the Laundry. 😎
