  1. I don't claim to be a technical buff either, but I seem to remember a picture the Celebrity Edge when they were rolling out Starlink and they showed a picture of some hardware mounted on top of the ship. Maybe it was just fluff, or maybe I was duped (not the first time) or maybe my memory is failing me (again not the first time) but I thought perhaps some technical guru might know something.
  2. Does Starlink have a unique antenna that we look for on the ships to confirm the statements on Starlink?
  3. This is great news, I'll finally be sailing with Bimmer. We'll be sailing from Amsterdam so we'll be onboard waiting for you when you board in Rome. We can also have dinner with you in Club Orange, Welcome Aboard.
  4. I'm glad you got the opportunity to watch the webinar but I won't rest easy until I know you got the points.
  5. The last thing that I think about when I think about smoking is a garden. When I think about a garden I think about a garden fresh smell, that's something that isn't associated with smoking.
  6. On the Rotterdam, Guest services passed the ball to the cabin steward supervisor to investigate.
  7. You are correct. Since the OP was asking about making am 11:35 am flight, I incorrectly assumed they were returning to Amsterdam. Making an 11:35 am flight from another city never occurred to me.
  8. Just another FYI. We cruised out of Amsterdam in August and there plenty of taxis waiting outside the cruise terminal to take you to the hotel
  9. Welcome to the new Celebrity, just another part of Celebrity's new "Reduced Luxury" cruising.
  10. After I see some snow and sub-zero temperatures in Michigan, going round and round in the Caribbean sounds like a good idea.
  11. This was you first mistake. I think we have both been around long enough not to expect loyalty from any company.
  12. I hope the informal trend is permanent. We were cruising on the Rotterdam to Iceland and Norway in August and maybe I saw one tux in 3 weeks. There were a handful of suits and some sport coats but most men were just in a collared shirt. Hardly any difference for dressy nights for the men. I never took my sport coat out of the garment bag and I doubt that I will take it on any future cruises.
  13. Thanks for sharing. About the only thing that really would appeal to me on Cunard would be more comfortable beds. I think I'll stick with HAL.
  14. Absolutely. I was listening on a TA webinar when they were rolling out the E-class ships and this was clearly their intention.
  15. Doesn't sound like you like the "ship with a ship" concept that is the basis for them charging the same amount as the true premium cruise lines.
  16. As long as the ships are sailing full, I don't think Celebrity really cares if the person in the cabin is a first time cruiser or Double Zenith. I'm not sure if most of the people currently sailing are paying current very high fares or they booked a long time ago. It will be interesting to see if the demand continues at the current levels in about a year or so.
  17. Isn't it possible that someone regularly drinks both coffee and tea? I don't think it needs to be an either or.
  18. OK, you were wrong. The OP was talking about shore excursion credits.
  19. After a couple cruises Celebrity wins hands down for main stage entertainment, but Celebrity doesn't have anything to compare to the Music walk. If you are non-suite guest, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with HAL. I can't comment on the suite experience for either line.
  20. Actually dining credits are a little different, they specify a meal in a specific specialty dining room. If the price changes you still get a free meal. A refund of a HIA meal never goes to non-refundable OBC. I actually don't expect to get any of it back in OBC that can be used for other items. I'm not sure if there was another tag attached to those specific funds so they could be used for anything else.. I didn't try to test the system, I just purchased another excursion. It would be interesting to know the official answer.
  21. The OP used the term "shore excursion credits". I'm not sure where "shore excursion credits" come from unless it's from the HIA. There may be some other ways but HIA is now the primary source for "shore excursion credits." Unlike the drinks in the HIA, the shore excursion credits have a specific dollar value. When I cancelled shore excursions purchased with shore excursion credit it showed up in y statement as non-refundable OBC. I'm not sure if I could have used it for anything else. Just out of curiosity have you ever cancelled a shore excursion purchased with HIA credit?
