Food and hotels actually prices are up, not flat. I guess these are your experiences, not actual facts. Wages are up. Oil year over year was down as were used cars and airline tickets. .. though numbers come in daily. As we get past the $100 a barrel oil a year ago the oil comparison will start to look less attractive, and unions are pushing for higher wages. We should hear from the fed later this week hawkish or dove. I personally think inflation over 3% is sticky. Hence my bet for another rate hike.

My one 14 day dream next jan was from carnivals birthday celebration. We could pick one for half price. .. hard to pick between jubilee and 14 days on dream to new ports, a unique cruise out of texas. Or that special elongated balcony at half price was reasonable . .. I went with the 14 day but wanted quite a few if the right price. Once I get moved where I can uber to a port I'm going to try and cruise even more and yes mardi gras is on my radar. I'm wanting to cruise more not less.

There is another recent thread about how celebrity works. I matched elite and got some free wifi time I remember. There is some kind of cocktail hour after 5 pm. I wanted wifi time to get into my game without paying is all I remember. They match status not points. MSC says they will also match status, so I put in twice to match and never heard back. They don't adjust. You book thru your planner and if you find a lower price, go in and cancel the other one and can rebut. .. caveat .. if they arent sold out. Then if you cancel it might not be right up to rebuy. So you cancel to rebuy. And you wait for a refund.

I think you answered your own question. Oasis, better ports, better price Wonder really high price, and you dont want to fly into orlando I did oasis as recently as last march and it was nice, no big complaints. Did it twice long ago. Got wonder booked and paying about double to cruise with friends. For me I'd rather spend less and cruise more often so price is a consideration. Maybe for you, your vacation time is set and cant cruise more and $1k more or less means little. If you just cruise once a year, a little extra doesnt make a difference.

Said better than what I said. Just got a alert from motley fool rcl raised 3rd qtr guidance again. Personally as a solo ala carte is better for me. The rates that are more inclusive I feel like I'm subsidising a invisible 2nd pax.

Curious what loyalty level you are as that makes a huge difference in cruise prices. Rcl is consistently less than other lines. I do group, $250 off balcony, then DP340 solo gets me 25% overall. No other line gives me a solo discount. Yes prices are going up fast, but a lot of us with loyalty discounts still find royal is less expensive than other lines.

I lost my car to hurricane Ike which hit Galveston ... I do worry about my car, not about me. Never saw my car again. We left on a sunday, ike was supposed to go straight to mexico and dog legged at the last 24 hours right into Galveston. It wasnt forecast to hit Galveston so we couldnt cancel. Water was up to my sun visor. The port parking had 17 ft. of water. So I'm not as blaise as you. Only brand new new car I ever bought, fresh out of the show room, 6 months old.

Exactly this ... if the storm is in their path they will go around it. I've missed 1 port a few times, 2 ports missed only once. Rcl has nothing in place to give you anything, it's up to the ship. You might get 0 or you might get a small obc for missed ports. Varys by ship, no pattern. From Galveston there arent ports they can substitute this late. .. you just miss them.

I thought the huge to do over a pizza survey question was blown up way too much. Nothing to replace it at night. Give us another food maybe. If you are still particularly concerned about pizza gate .. try another line for a while. No one is forcing you to cruise on this line. Rcl had great earnings, ccl and nclh both had terrible earnings. I kinda hope they get on a level where the debt isnt such a big deal. Sold my shares so looking to buy them back. Watching rcl trade day in day out. Its fighting being pulled down with other sell offs. My last cruise was the 10 day radiance and personally I liked the new menus and hot food served. I have often said i think rcl pax are the most complaining group I ever saw. .. if it doesnt suit you, change lines. I do think they are overdoing the nickle and diming. I'm hoping they come out the other end and can start adding some back. .. or maybe they decided this way of charging ala carte with everything extra is a winner.

Yes there is one white pizza on the menu. I asked for pepperoni last time and thought it was a bit too rich and went back to regular. Maybe its the garlic butter that makes it taste so rich. Idk but I love that one too.
