  1. It won't make it that far. This is a basic function for a hospitality POS system such as what Carnival uses. It automatically creates flags based on the personal information of the customer and what function the system is being asked to accomplish. They don't just hope the worker is correctly visually assessing the age of a passenger that is subject to a restriction based on ship policy. There are plenty of 16 year olds who can pass for 25 much less a 20 year old. Ring an alcoholic beverage for someone under 21....flag pops up that stops the transaction. Someone boarding the ship that needs a responsible party.....flag pops up. Minor attempting to exit the ship without a guardian.....flag pops up. There are plenty of examples.
  2. We had one booked in December but took a last minute balcony upsell.
  3. NCL succeeded at nothing. Their policy change had no impact to any cruise leaving from north America.
  4. People like to create fake drama on the internet.
  5. They aren't even going to let her board until her responsible party arrives. It is no different than a 14yo trying to check-in before their parents arrive.
  6. This has nothing to do with criminal law. This is businesses protecting themselves from a segment of young adults who commonly make bad decisions that are detrimental not only to themselves but also increase the liability for the business itself. There is a reason these type of policies are common in the business world from rental cars to hospitality. The majority have minimum age policies that can be as much as 25 years old. Businesses are not in the habit of turning down money unless history shows the risk far outweighs the reward.
  7. Yup....removing the filet as the selection for steak and eggs was a huge step down. It was a dish I had ordered dozens of times over the years. I gave it a shot on the last two cruises and I have now given up on it.
  8. It has always been that way. Carnival has a million rate codes with varied pricing that have their own individual terms and condition. When you book under a rate code that is what applies to the booking. When it comes to upgrading cabins if that rate code is still active many times you can stay with it, if it is expired or you have found another rate code that is cheaper if you upgrade you fall under the new terms and conditions.
  9. Yes....I've used them several times.
  10. $50 cruises gets $50 cruisers.
  11. When I log into the banking site they are at the bottom of the screen. "My Wells Fargo Deals"
  12. Wow....who knew people took funnel shapes and life boat colors so seriously?
  13. There is parking directly across the street at The Parking Mall that works out to roughly half price. I think the total was under $45 for our last cruise.
  14. I can fly to any of those countries directly and not have to take a COVID test. The ports still have that requirement because they are piggybacking off of the CDC regulations. Same scenario took place with international flights, they reversed course when the big health agencies eliminated testing. The CDC is the driving force behind this, not the ports. Pre-cruise testing is part of the CDC's 'voluntary' COVID-19 Program for Cruise Ships. When they relax those regulations the cruise lines will follow suit.
  15. Not hydrating enough. I don't recover like I once did and a few days of daily drinking will cumulatively catch up to me if I don't drink enough water and PowerAde's. Nothing can ruin a day of relaxed drinking like a persistent dehydration headache.
  16. I activated mine last week before I purchased Cheers. Still have not received my credit but I'm not sure how long it usually takes.
  17. I also had the deal on my Wells Fargo app.
  18. RU0 is actually higher for us. I booked a 5 day out of Jacksonville later this month 2 weeks ago. We paid $214 each and Cheers was around $300 each, RU0 is $740 each.
  19. Well.....Carnival has been sliding well before Covid. Their stock priced reached near $70 a share in mid-2018. By the time COVID popped up it had lost 40% of its value. COVID caused a free fall seeing the stock lose 90% of its previous peak. Carnival is a huge company and the shutdown hit them hard. They had to take billions in high interest debt just to make it through. Even a year after the restart the debt only continues to grow. They lost $22 million a day just in the first quarter of 2022 alone. Their total debt is now $36 billion and it appears even the peak season with goals of 110% occupancy isn't going to turn the tide. Q3 which is a natural slowdown in the travel season will likely present obstacles Carnival has never seen. They are simply in bad shape and we haven't even taken into account rising costs and a looming recession.
  20. Well.....this topic is about stock holdings so it is worthy of more than a brush off.
  21. I have found that many of these offers expire after the first booking. Just because you see multiple weeks at a deep discount under the same fare code does not mean they will be available after you book the first one. The others will revert to some other discount code which is no where near as low.
  22. We had Monster on the Valor in May. Did it change again?
  23. The other lines are in much better shape than Carnival.
  24. Yup....It has nacho cheese instead of sliced cheese.
