  1. No one can predict when they will be cheaper. Just because they are double the price now, doesn't mean the airline won't open up seats later in a lower-fare class. I no longer track fares and never used cash to purchase an international business class seat in the past, only miles. All I look at are loads now because I want to non-rev in style.
  2. Isn't there already a thread about this? The prices last year have absolutely no relevance to this year's cost.
  3. Your bag is too big. It's not just "sneaking it on." When it's too big, it won't fit in the overhead bin. Please don't slow up boarding for everyone. If you don't want to pay, and it will fit through the TSA scanner, to up to the GA and check it. Please do not wait to do this until boarding starts.
  4. You’ve done what many fail to do; add up all the additional charges. I don’t see that you’ve missed anything and I think you are aware what business class consists of for this flight.
  5. I looked at your routing on SQ's webpage, and there were no business class tickets under $6000. Did you book this directly with SQ? Are you sure you are in business?

  8. They offered this on my last cruise in May 2023, but it was not really announced. The ship was only about 1/2 full.
  9. Highly recommend Dr. Poole for an educational and very interesting tour. It is small, but not private and there's no guarantee you can go into the water. He decides. I don't know of any private swim with whales excursions on Moorea.
  10. If the ship is anchored and the weather is good, the sports deck will be open.
  11. You'll agonize for hours about this to carefully choose your seats, and then, because this flight is six months in the future, they will change the equipment.
  12. As someone who works the gates when forced to, this happens every day. There was probably an agent at the end of the jetbridge, pulling it away from the plane. For domestic flights, you must be in the gate area 15 minutes before departure, and that door to the jetbridge is supposed to be closed ten minutes before departure. At the time the door closes, information is sent to loading and planning, and that door is not opening up for latecomers. Then, when they miss their flight, and it's 100% their fault, they yell at agents and make a scene because there isn't availability to rebook them for hours or even a day or so. Be at the right gate on time and you won't have any problem with getting in that door.
  13. I've never had to have an interview for a renewal.
  14. No. If you don't get any answers, try calling or having your TA call if you used one.
  15. I turned in my renewal a couple of months ago. Still waiting. Not worrying, because as long as a renewal is turned in before your membership expires, there is a grace period when you may still use GE until your renewal is approved.
  16. Book directly with the airline. If you find very cheap business class seats from one of these third parties, most likely they are booked with miles purchased (or sometimes stolen) from another person's frequent flyer account. This is against the rules of every airline and they vigorously pursue this fraud. If found, your ticket will be canceled, possibly leaving you stranded and having to purchase a new fare at walk-up prices. I don't know of a single airline that sells discount business-class tickets to a third party, despite the claims on many of these webpages that, "we have a special relationship" with airlines. No, they do not. And, if you see cheaper economy tickets, they are often not live prices or they are showing you basic economy tickets. Most of these sites will charge you fees, even if your flight is canceled. Make sure you read all of the terms and conditions associated with your ticket. I know the airline I work for will pretty much rebook you for any problems at no charge. But, not if you have one of these tickets. Know what you are purchasing because there is no magic cheap price.

You can see seat cost by doing a dummy booking. Also, you can’t make any changes to a BE ticket.
  18. Just be aware that unless you have high enough status, you'll pay to have advance seat selection on BA.
  19. I personally hate those zipper pulls that connect to the lock. I have never seen any cut, but have seen broken ones, and we don’t cover that damage. Most airlines don’t cover any zippers or zipper pulls.
  20. Even the most expensive of bags get ruined. This Rimowa bag was just trashed. It actually belonged to someone famous, who was great about it. They said they would return to Rimowa for replacement.
  21. Personally, I think people should give up the idea that their suitcase will remain pristine and undamaged. And honestly, I want to laugh when someone asked for a "Fragile" tag the other day and then told their companion, "I don't really have anything breakable, I just know they will handle my bag very carefully and put it on top if I have the tag." Maybe, or maybe not. I actually had a customer bring in her white bag with a small black mark on it and asked to file a damaged bag claim. Of course, that's a hard no, and then she wanted me to clean it off and complained that we just didn't care. Crazy to ask and not wise to buy a white bag. Globaliser is exactly right. Your bags are just going to get dirty and show normal signs of wear and tear. If TSA needs to get into the bag, yes, they will remove the plastic wrap. Your straps can get lost and they are in such a hurry, they often are not going to take the time to put them back on. If this happens, contact TSA, not your airline. I do see bags with plastic covers, but if you travel much, these don't last long. They do provide a little protection from the rain. My opinion is if you are worried about a checked bag's appearance that much, you should get yourself a cheaper bag and save the worry. Skip the really cheap hard shells and spinners because those are the bags I see with the most damage. And, most of the damage isn't covered.
  22. OP - who are you asking to provide details? No one here works for Windstar, as far as I've been able to tell. I also have absolutely no idea what COLT is.
