  1. Really? How do you know that? It just feels true?
  2. Because of the long wait, your GE expiration date is extended up to a year, as long as you have an application in process. i turned in my renewal in Jan, got conditional approval the end of Feb., and had to do an interview, which I did on departure from NAS; I just asked an CBP agent if they could do it.
  3. Windstar used to send out a nice pouch with all your cruise documents, including luggage tags, but as with so many cruise lines, those are no more. You will receive emailed documents ~four or five weeks before your cruise. If you haven't received them by now, contact Windstar or your TA if you used one. Be sure to print them out and have them with you, as some ports (Barbados comes to mind) will require you to show them for entry to the port. Luggage tags will be found at the ship when you check in.
  4. I just wanted to make sure I understood correctly because I have never seen this question on CC. I am sure they would notice but this isn’t against any rules.
  5. No, I have never heard of this. There are many rates, such as interline rates, not available to the public and there are some amazing deals. What you see as a $3000 price may be $600 to them and cabins are sold last minute that way. Get a job with an airline or hotel, for example, and you will pay much less. I don't think haggling in a market, or purchasing a car or house has anything to do with this question.
  6. I have been on many Windstar cruises and as best as I remember, they always hold them and you have no choice IME. I’m not sure why this is an issue.
  7. I am not talking about you, Strenz. I agree, I stick with Windstar for ocean cruises.
  8. Have you considered HAL? Between your two choices I would take Princess.
  9. I have had many loads of laundry done during Windstar cruises. Most of it comes back just fine, and you request that items be line dried if you wish. Are they kept out of the dryer? Who knows? I did have one cruise where dark items came back noticeably faded and one dress had spotted areas. I never send out anything that I value.
  10. I have noticed that some people who stick with one cruise line only are not balanced at all in their reviews, even when they are reincarnated.
  11. That should be fine, as long as your first flight is on time. At that time of year though, personally I would fly to IAH the night before.
  12. This is not “taking advantage.” It’s simply asking for payment for services.
  13. It’s against BA policy to through check bags on two separate tickets even if both flights are on BA. I am guessing you are aware of the very high surcharges you will pay on a business class award ticket w/ BA,
  14. I disliked my cruise on PG and wouldn’t consider them again. I have had several booked cruises chartered and most cruise lines do this. I was annoyed after Windstar did this a couple of times, and didn’t sail them for a long time. I now just book very last minute and it’s not a problem. I realize not everyone one can do this.
  15. I have booked several Windstar cruises in the past that have been chartered, and since this ship recently was renovated, it could be a charter.
  16. Agree with 6986. Had very rough weather on the long stretches on this same cruise. Many seasick people. There is no predicting weather.
  17. Can’t they just pull up their reservation online and change their flights?
  18. Logically, how is the airline going to move your bags? You would not see your bags if you arrived and departed from JFK. Your husband should check on the status of his application.
  19. No one can predict when they will be cheaper. Just because they are double the price now, doesn't mean the airline won't open up seats later in a lower-fare class. I no longer track fares and never used cash to purchase an international business class seat in the past, only miles. All I look at are loads now because I want to non-rev in style.
  20. Isn't there already a thread about this? The prices last year have absolutely no relevance to this year's cost.
  21. Your bag is too big. It's not just "sneaking it on." When it's too big, it won't fit in the overhead bin. Please don't slow up boarding for everyone. If you don't want to pay, and it will fit through the TSA scanner, to up to the GA and check it. Please do not wait to do this until boarding starts.
  22. You’ve done what many fail to do; add up all the additional charges. I don’t see that you’ve missed anything and I think you are aware what business class consists of for this flight.
