  1. You check in at street level at Cape Liberty and sit in chairs at the same level until it is time to board.
  2. You should check the insurance policy to see if the family emergency is covered. Depending on the insurance you purchased, some have cancel for any reason coverage that would get your friend a future cruise credit for their portion of the cruise fare. Another option would be to find someone else to take your friend's place. That person could pay your friend.
  3. Our departure letter for our recent Oasis sailing shows Park Cafe was only open until 8:15am. Cafe Promenade, which is also on Voyager which is the ship the OP is sailing, was open until 8:30.
  4. Most venues are either closed that morning or only open limited hours. Looking at our departure letter from our recent cruise, all breakfast locations closed at either 8am or 8:30am, with Starbucks being the last thing open until 9am. You would be able to sit someplace on the Royal Promenade or up on the pool deck but you will end up being encouraged to leave the ship. I have never actually seen anyone in a pool the last morning, but we are only up on the pool deck really, really early to see the ship come into port.
  5. What ship? Your late starters are going to need to get their act together because by 10 o'clock, they will be calling the stragglers names over the PA as they try to get to zero passenger count.
  6. SL/CL is all the way aft on deck 12. Sign had not changed the last time we sailed Anthem. No 11-11 drinks, just drinks during happy hour. It is a beautiful lounge though that spans the aft of the ship. We grab a glass of wine as we are leaving and take that with us to Coastal Kitchen, which is on deck 14 right outside the WJ. We prefer this setup as CK is quieter than those on Oasis class ships and has a more intimate atmosphere to it. Reservations for dinner have always been no issue, whether we were sailing Sea or Sky class. Sea class doesn't get shutout like it can on Oasis class.
  7. Diet Coke was available in at least one of the two machines outside Sorrentos and diet root beer seemed to be available too, which made my DH happy. We have been getting refreshment packages since they started offering them and have never encountered machines this empty in the past. Hopefully, it was just a supply chain issue that has corrected itself now that the ship is sailing from Florida.
  8. Oasis has the majority of what was included in that link, but not all. Just hope that they actually have what they typically have listed because the machines were very empty the majority of our cruise in October. The machine by El Loco Fresh had only powerade most of the time, all other drinks were greyed out.
  9. I am Loyal to my family and pocketbook. I would have no issues trying something new and saving a lot of money.
  10. If one person in a cabin tests positive, they will be required to quarantine. Whether it is in their own cabin or a different cabin depends on the ship and availability of other cabins. Positive passengers were being moved to oceanview cabins in an area reserved for those with covid but with ships sailing at full capacity, they might let you stay in your cabin. I know when I tested positive earlier this year, I stayed in our suite and they moved my DH to a balcony cabin but that was a almost six months ago and protocols are pretty fluid. Australian sailings also have different protocols, like masking, so hard to know what will actually happen if someone was positive. This is what the cruise line's website currently says. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/sick-onboard-health-services
  11. I wouldn't wait until that late as there will be a ton of people already there for the next sailing. I would do either 8:30 or 9.
  12. Your stuffies look delicious! When I worked in Boston, we used to have a potluck lunch a couple times a year and there was someone who lived in RI who brought stuffies one time and was required to bring them every time from then on! Your whole meal sounds wonderful.
  13. There isn't a Royal Promenade but there is a two level Royal Esplanade that is a little narrower than the Royal Promenade.
  14. Awww, thanks for thinking of me, Marietta. 🙂 I am finally doing much better and am off all meds at this point. I haven't needed my rescue inhaler in almost a week, so that is something. At least I can now schedule my flu shot, still not sure about the covid booster though. We want to book a cruise but I have gotten sick on 3 of our last 4 cruises, so not sure what we are going to do. When are you guys sailing next? Hugs to you and yours. Your granddaughter was so strong to get up and talk about her Dad at the vigil.
  15. LOL We have a passport holder too, have had one for years. We do not give the holder to any check in person, whether it be an airport, cruiseport, TSA line or anywhere, we just open passports to picture page and hand them over. All check in people are used to dealing with set sail passes and boarding passes on phones as that has been going on for years. It isn't rocket science. Do what works for you and don't get in line behind large families or people with cutesy folders! 😱😁
  16. No different than getting behind someone with some cutesy little folder that doesn't have the common courtesy to take the items out for the check in person.
  17. The cruise tours are listed on the cruise lines website. Just choose Alaska as a destination and as you scroll through the cruise, you see longer ones that are the cruise tours and cruises combined. This link is also a good one for seeing cruise tour information. https://www.royalcaribbeancruisetours.com/
  18. I was in medical with Covid when we were in Victoria on our May Alaska sailing. I was sent to quarantine in my cabin but they did medically evacuate a man from our rollcall because of norovirus and covid. Both he and his wife ended up staying in Victoria until he was stabilized. They ended up taking the ferry to Seattle and flew home from Seattle. They, luckily, had passports. Who knows how long they would have been delayed in Victoria had they only sailed on birth certificates and photo IDs.
  19. All Alaska cruises have to have a stop in Canada or they are in violation of the PVSA.
  20. I checked in for my October Oasis cruise just after midnight and was able to get 10am check in time. People on my rollcall posted that they checked in at 12:15 said 11am was the earliest available. I just happened to be awake at midnight, so I checked us in. I only chose our times and went back to bed. I finished the rest of the process in the morning. Had I not woken up, I would have just done it at 6am when I got up. I did check then too and could have gotten 11:30, which I would have been fine with.
  21. The bar soda guns have very limited choices of soda, definitely not root beer. It is typically Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, ginger ale and club soda.
  22. Check in will open up at midnight local time for the port your ship is sailing from. When you go into the app, you will see you can click on the check in options.
