May I ask, what were your port times? The schedule? We're scheduled 10am - 6pm I agree this is not the end of the world and we will adapt just planning how to do so. Patty

I have done bear tours with island Wings out of Ketchikan, amazing! Bear tours are very pricey and Brooks Falls tends to be a BIG ticket item. I want to mention, I've seen a few posts by you for Alaska and I don't want to come off as pushy but want to urge you to quickly secure your tours. I was too late for several this past October. I've sailed Alaska multiple times, I believe they're still very limited with tour operators as I have never had this in my previous experience. I saw your post regarding the land tour portion with celebrity, I can't help with that but if possible and interested they are running Denali flights out of Talkeetna. I was able to grab that for this July. When I spoke to K2 Aviation he did mention they're selling out in many areas super early this year. Patty

As others have mentioned, blankets and hot cocoa will be available. July may surprise you, I've seen many sunburned passengers after a glacier day. Here is an example of why you plan for anything ~ Same sailing!

I've sailed GB with Princess and have sailed multiple times with Celebrity in Alaska. Both are fantastic! For me GB is not a deal breaker but many will disagree. I focus on tours in the ports that are on my must have list so the itinerary and ports times are most important to me. Patty

Millie is out of Seward or Vancouver doing N/S Bound not all three sailings are equal.

@C4HCG Not for a second do I think anyone is being stupid but what other reason could there be? Again I said suspected, I really don't know. I've used google like posted and found nothing. Celebrity doesn't seem to be forthright with this info. GC hasn't posted anything on their web pages. It's all seems so secretive so my rational is justified. Patty

@Dar & Bob Thank you for keeping us in the loop. At the risk of being accused of being a drunkard or whining from my computer, I have a strong suspicion that this is a Celebrity cost cutting issue. As much as I love Celebrity, I am becoming a bit concerned in the product they sold compared to the one they're delivering. December was a huge roll out for the 2023/2024 season and right now it's starting to feel like a bait and switch. Hope I am wrong, will know first hand in two weeks. Patty

The Millie goes North and South Bound so this gives you great port times! IMO that's the top priority. I am sailing this July and just scored a great price drop yesterday. Patty

I am not attempting to bully, just want to share that I see this analogy is equal. Many people buy a car and add upgrades. Example floor/cargo matts, stereo systems, undercoating, tires/rims etc. For me adding specialty restaurants is the same. I choose to upgrade my dining experiences just as many choose to upgrade their vehicles. Some pay for Al Bacio and others are content with basic brew. The same can be true of staterooms, particular balconies and alcohol. Some are very content with the bare bones of sailing and some want the suit life and some like to cater it ale cart to meet their preferences as I do. It's all about choices and peoples individual priorities. Patty

I call and its adjusted, I hold on the line and wait for an email to confirm before hanging up. I have done this more times than I can count. Just this morning saved $480 off an Alaska sailing for this July. Total call time was 8 mins. I got lucky! Patty

I book non suite staterooms @ cruise only rates and always book specialty dining restaurants. I use OBC and Hard Earned Cash. I always get some discount pre-booking online. I never do the package because I want to lock down my restaurant choices and times when I book rather than waiting till I get onboard. We enjoy variety and this gives us a good mix, Patty

I thought of a tid bit that may influence your decision, if you have tender ports Beyond will be the better option. This was important to me and why I'm sailing Beyond while doing Gk Isles. Sorry, I know I seem inconsistent Patty

To my knowledge there is no longer any fixed dining on any E class ship. This has been posted about here on CC many times,. Sadly Celebrity hasn't put out the dining change information so many are caught by surprise once on board. Patty

I am not positive but maybe do a search, I've read multiple times that Le Voyage is not included. Also with a package you can't book your specialty dining until you are on board, at that time the options are super limited and many could not get Eden. Patty

How do you plan to get to Seattle for you flight home? Do you want options for Seward or Anchorage? Confused so can't offer any input.

True Story, I was on a Princess cruise years ago in Alaska, I was so tired of the "Adult" meals and kept going to the buffet looking for Chicken Nuggets. So after a few days, I bellied up to the bar, ordered my champagne and carried it with me to the MDR then ordered Chicken Strips off the kids menu. Asked my waiter to just throw 2 plates together as one. There I sat all dressed with my bubbles and a double portion kids meal. As people walked by I'd hear them say "Oh I want that too" Sometimes we just need to keep it simple 😊 Patty

I'd say pick the itinerary that gives you the most port time, in the ports you desire. For me... Ships pizazz comes second to the sites/excursions in Europe. Europe is magical! Patty
