Cabin service: Changed to once a day on RCI ?
ONECRUISER replied to mlbcruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Couple showers a day, go to meal go to the Movie Theater he'd have it cleaned and wiped. Banana peal in Trash, gone, and Fruit Basket(that all Cabins had) restocked. Every time you return it's spotless. Wash cloth, towel, hand towel, used once got new one. Bed made, turn down service. Wasn't kidding in/out Cabin 10 times a day, he'd been in it. Interesting back then all Room Attendants and Waiters all Men, no Women doing these jobs -
Cabin service: Changed to once a day on RCI ?
ONECRUISER replied to mlbcruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Shoot I remember when they'd clean and pickup my cabin 8-10 times a day. Anytime I'd leave my Cabin he was in there. Our attendant also had lot more work to do back then, all for $1 per person, per day. Ship had 2 Couches each on a different wall that Attendant would have to move together put sheets, blanket, pillows on. Then in am disassemble putting all away until that nite -
Is Royal Caribbean building any small ships?
ONECRUISER replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Wow, yeah that's not "Cool" Haven't done too many cold environment Cruises except dozen of the annual Oct Boston-Florida Repo's. My Sailings in Carib some people prefer the Solarium Roof shut to get a little relief from Hot/Humid days -
Yeah, last 20yrs at start of Cruise I always take picture my Cruise Card and Cruise Paperwork inc Itinerary. Only way can remember where pictures were taken.
-
True, my first emails saved are from same year I joined AOL Cruise Critic, 1997. Of course back then it took about 9 min to download one picture
-
Back when they did the Point Conversion they were missing my 1980's Cruises. Fortunately I save all my Cruises paperwork and Cruise Cards. Was able give them info from my Booking, Numbers/Dates and got the Credit in couple days... Good Luck to you!

chair flies to upper deck on independence

Seen similar happen at least 2 times myself. The little tables Royal use to have on Pool Decks would really get some distance. Most time Crew is quick have Chairs all tied down but not always -
Is Royal Caribbean building any small ships?

What do you mean, Solarium Roof? Almost every sailing on Radiance Class I've see the Roof open at least once, inc 8 out of 9 Cruises in last yr -
Interesting reply to my MDR table request
ONECRUISER replied to The Fun Researcher's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Been couple threads on this. Those that don't know requests by email are supposed be sent only 2-3wks from Sailing. Unfortunately this is now typical response now, guess better to call for special requests -
Wasn't 2 when my Sister was newborn. Mom would get call I was 2 houses down at my Aunts. Or from corner store 2 blocks away at the Grocery Store where I'd parked my Trike at the loading docks with the trucks and was in store pushing around one the small kid carts. Was tied to a tree with a 6ft leash and at times to my Bed. Stuff that wouldn't fly now

Did 6 Cruises out of Miami last yr, on 3 of them Self Assist didnt even start until 725-750. Even Cruises out of Port Everglades on non-Oasis Class have had similar experiences many times, then getting to FLL around Holidays multiple times Lines out the Door. Last time was Dec 23 and they were telling some that missed Flight they "might" be home by Xmas. If Booking Early Flights as said above have a plan B like make sure Airline your on has additional later Flights in day just in case, likely cost you $$$ but hopefully they are not Full if needed. I don't mind wait at Airport and normally Fly out between 1:50-2:30

Timing of cruise out of PC
ONECRUISER replied to Billy Baltic's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Though it Depends, 10% are now Year round where even my Kids and now Grands always get 2 weeks off. Lived/Stationed all around the Country where some always got first week April off, others different same week and then some more always closer or over the ever moving Easter Date. Teacher's Union's control this quite a bit. Also we now have highest amount ever Home Schooled they can take Vacations when and as long as want -
If you are sick and Quarantined Royal gives Credit for those Days. Seen this for CV and Noro related. Even when tests for CV are all Negative

Yes, Boarded Cruises after they have done deep cleaning and Delay get to Cabins. I never worry, compared to another Cruise I feel safer onboard here with any additional Protocols
-
And that's the problem here. Fellow passengers can make the Cruise. Use to Cruise Peak Months every yr. Last 21yrs have only done longer Sailings, off Season on older Radiance Class Ships(use to be Vision). Usually about 80% Capacity, no Family/Kids running around and no fighting over my Favorite Seats around the Ship. I let my Kids/Grands enjoy the Summer Cruises on newer ships without Papa joining. Though do feel for those don't have this option

Slumber pod in interior room for baby?
ONECRUISER replied to LT4221's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Depends. Shoot I booked a 2bd/2Ba SOLO, same with a3 and 4 person. Some Ships restrict when Dates released others it's available from day one -
Use to Cruise over 4th every year, American Meal Menu like they do every week one nite of almost all Cruises

Looking for price drops HA - NOT Happening :)
ONECRUISER replied to happy cruzer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Same, 2 my Royal Cruises are more then Double from what I Booked 560 days before Sailing. But even the other ones I have Booked, Double from 2022. High Demand, High prices -
That you are aware of. Common issue, most time you don't know there is Noro on your Cruise. Then when hits certain level cases they add extra cleaning, unless they have that number cases onboard you are never aware. Someone brought it on, no way to stop it from happening. Sorry for you, make sure you got credit for your downtime if you didn't. My Daughter had Cold last Fall, quarantine until 2 neg CV Tests and she received $$$ for those 2 days.

Was on 5 Brand New Royal Ships back 22-35yrs ago, Ken was on 4 of them along with same Capt.(forget his name) Back then they were like the start up Team for new builds. Along with them they'd take Top 10% best of Crew from other Ships to Train up new hires

Correct. On Both Oct 2023 and 2024 Radiance PC Sailings myself
