  1. Depends which ship. On S and E ships, no size difference. On M ships, concierge cabins are larger than regular verandas. They are also in good locations. Another nice feature is embarkation lunch in the MDR. Nice to avoid buffet. Celebrity ships have few if any obstructioned views. None are really bad. You might see the top of a lifeboat if you look down. If you are near a bump out or angled veranda, they are considered obstructed. Not really. If you look straight out, you don’t see obstruction. Look to the sides, you might see a bit of the bump out. I wouldn’t worry about it on Celebrity ships. Avoid cabins over or under lounges, casino, or the pool. They get noise.
  2. Today, my spouse got an email with a link to an approved Travel Authorization. Printed it. Email said that we don’t need to send test results to Bermuda. Change went into effect a few days ago. Bring test results to embarkation where they will be checked. Also bring vax card and passport. still waiting for my email. Strange since we submitted our applications a few minutes apart. Hope to see my email soon.
  3. Excellent location. Quiet and very convenient. Deck 7 and 8 are my preferred decks. They are sandwiched between other decks of cabins. You made a good choice.
  4. Must sign up by end of first day. Do it!
  5. Interesting question. Makes me wonder about cruises arriving in USA. If I test positive on an upcoming Bermuda cruise, can I disembark, drive home, and quarantine at home? Or will I be stuck on the ship until I test negative? Or do they disembark and put you in Covid quarantine jail hotel? I live close to the dock. I just assumed that I could go home at the end of my cruise. Am I correct? Or will I be detained in Bayonne?
  6. You used to get it free at guest relations. That’s probably gone too. Bring your own meds.
  7. I also called for another issue and was brushed off. I also asked for the discount for elite plus to upgrade from classic to premium. Was told that there is no longer any discount. When I pointed out that it was listed in the website under Captains club benefits, the rep said she didn’t know anything about it. That’s It! They know nothing. She did say that she would take off the 10%. That’s off the newly increased price. Thought about it and decided, classic is good enough. Celebrity used to send notification well in advance of price increases. That’s gone. Not thinking much of the constant sales pitch to buy drinks, excursions, specialty dining, spa treatments, etc. the amount of emails trying to sell stuff is outrageous. Never experienced it before any other cruise on any cruise line. If this is the new Celebrity, our upcoming cruise will be our last. Need no more robo for Celebrity pitch emails. I don’t want to block Celebrity emails because they may include info about our sailing.
  8. I usually pack a small first aide assortment. However, sometimes you just need something. Yes , it is expensive. However, there are times when you need somethings. Thought you packed it or just ran out. Things that i have bought on ships include toothpaste, band aides, deodorant, dental floss, benadryl, and tampons. Those tampons should have been golden at the price that they charged. If you need them, you need them. You think that you pack enough, but you ran out. It happens. None of these should require a trip to the medical facility.
  9. Read everything. You are assuming incorrectly that I didn’t. Don’t do that.
  10. We got the booster 6 weeks ago. Friends decided to wait until closer to cruise. They got Covid 2 weeks ago. Still are testing positive. Had to cancel cruise. Don’t put it off. You need protection asap.
  11. The vanilla orchid tea in Red Ginger is one of my favorites. Buy it at home from Tea Forte. Wish they offered it in other venues on the ship. I got hocked on Tea Forte on Celebrity. They serve it at the coffee bar, Al Bacio. I also like Ceylon gold.
  12. Like Baristas. Would like it to be open later. I love coffee after the show. Casino bar has coffee. Not as good as Baristas. Room service is meh.
  13. my favorites. Flight over Misty fjords, Ketchikan crab boat and crab feast, and white pass railroad. In Juneau, salmon hatchery was interesting. Mendenhall glacier is melting. Saw it in 2003. It was spectacular. Drive up. In 2019, lake where the road used to be. Still worth seeing. Don’t do salmon bake.
  14. Thanks. Called Celebrity today and got the rewards OBC attached to my June cruise account. Fortunately, I had my receipt. Before pandemic, it was posted quickly after online redemption. Not the case now.
  15. Be careful. Be aware that you may get a cabin that is in a location anywhere on the ship. If location is important, don’t bid. Also, know that most sky suites do not have a walk in shower. Only handicapped suites have it. It’s a gamble and sometimes a way to save money. Know prices before bidding. With best prices guarantee, it’s often better to wait and check prices. On my upcoming cruise, there were huge price cuts in Oceanview and inside categories. Many people cashed in and got lots of OBC. If you bid and get it, the price guarantee doesn’t apply. Often it is best to book what you want or wait before bidding.
  16. Got a pop up that said if I agreed to receiving texts, I would get $100 OBC on my next cruise. I had a cruise booked sailing in June. Ok, send me texts. They are intrusive. Annoying, but for $100 OBC, ok. Called Celebrity today to book something. No $100. It’s a scam. It has specific time limits that void it. Never again will I fall for that scam. However the texts keep coming. STOP Also, I have the Celebrity credit card. In March, I asked online to get a OBC reward attached to an upcoming cruise. Got email receipt. It didn’t show up on my account. Called asking why. It seems that in addition to redeeming online, you must call the Celebrity rewards desk to request it. 800-760-0654 opt 3. Or 877-738-7328 opt 3. Good luck.
  17. If you want to shop, our only hope of getting to Hamilton is Saturday or early Monday. Sunday is mostly closed. However, when cruise ships are in on Sunday, some stores will open. There will be 3 ships in on Sunday that we are there. ferry Dockyard to Hamilton is quick. If this is your first trip to Bermuda, go to Hamilton. Sunday would be a good day for beaches, museums, sailing, fishing, etc. hope for sunshine. Looking forward to the cruise.
  18. Please post what happens. This is the first time that I see a Provisional Waiver. Hope it gets resolved.
  19. Wording is not clear. I applied 2 weeks ago for the Bermuda ETA entry travel authorization. Got the received email. Yesterday when I read the new posting on the Bermuda gov site, I read it and thought that we had to bring our application receipt, show our negative Covid test, vax card, passport at the dock on June 2. Now when I read it again, it is ambiguous. I will be looking for the email for Bermuda. Hopefully it will be clear as to what to do.
  20. The pre cruise experience has been confusing. I understand that we are in a pandemic. Conditions are constantly changing. Rather than complaining, relax and just go along. Of course, there have been changes that are annoying. Just make the most of a tenuous situation . My only concern is getting Covid. I can accept some frustration. It beats staying home. Need a change.
  21. Many excellent fakes are being sold to unsuspecting people as being the real deal. Often see adds with prices that seem low. If it is too good to be true, it’s a fake. It will still be a well made bag. It will look good, wear well, and cost less money than an authorized genuine bag. It will likely look identical to a real bag. Other than being made to look like an LV bag, it will fool most people. Copies in many places are outlawed. In France, counterfeiting LV bags is a punishable crime.
  22. Find a rapid type test. In January, we did the cvs PCR test. We were told results in 1-2 days. Figured we were ok since Oceania had a 72 hour limit. There was a clause that stating it may take longer . It did. It was 4 days before we got results. We canceled the cruise.
  23. I used to love finding new books to read on ships. The library was my first stop after embarkation. Sadly, finding libraries on ships is rare. Libraries were gone on Celebrity ships before the pandemic. Last cruise 2019 on Reflection, the shelves in the library were almost empty. Did find a few Japanese comic books. Libraries take up space. Cost $ to supply with books. On M ships, the library space is now cabins. It’s all about decreasing costs and increasing revenue. Fill your kindle before sailing.
