  2. Only ONCE did I not get it back, and that was about five years ago.
  3. I am not discounting your experience, but you were on Carnival. Surprisingly, the answer is not always the same for different cruise lines. For example, out of Baltimore, Carnival opens the casino earlier than RC, because Carnival has made the decision to pay Maryland blackmail, and RC has not. I don't know if any of that applies to New Orleans. 🙂 Royal Caribbean hasn't cruised out of NOLA in a few years. The first "return to NOLA" cruise embarks next Friday. hoosier sailor is the best offer of information. 🙂
  4. You are usually SO GOOD with accurate information. It has been 45 days for a looooooooong time now. (and there is no assurance that you will receive notification from RC)
  5. I had an analogous situation. (though sort of in reverse) There was compensation given for a cruise cut short. Since I was primary on the reservation, the balcony discount was listed on MY line of the invoice, thus making it look like I paid less. They gave me smaller compensation. I raised the issue with RC, and my compensation was recalculated. Perhaps you should try again. 🙂
  6. It has long been their policy when they quarantine you for norovirus that you are, indeed, compensated on a per diem basis.
  7. I could see my account on my first ever cruise - Explorer 2002. The only ships that didn't have this function were Sovereign class and Vision class. (and Empress, of course) I understand that they want everyone to migrate to the app, but I can't believe that they would disable an existing function. 😮
  8. I have eaten dinner at Wonderland four times (I think that's the right number) on three different ships. I enjoyed each meal, and would do it again. So there. Now you know someone who has been more than once. 🙂
  9. The preferred method is through the Royal Caribbean app. (available on the app store and google play). If you can't or won't do that, there will be a kiosk when you board where they can help you. They can also help at Guest Services, but the app really is the way to go.
  10. There are soooooooooooooooo many posts I would like to quote, but there's a limit, so I'll just plunge right in. Um, guys, they aren't sending the rest of the fleet to the bottom of the ocean or to the ship graveyard in Turkey. You can still choose to cruise on another ship. No need to fear the Icon of the Seas. It won't bite you, particularly if you aren't on it. No one will cry. No one will mourn. Just go about your business as you see it.
  11. Well, they are all connecting cabins, so that is less than optimal. But it levels the playing field, at least. I will ALWAYS select Deck 4 instead of Deck 3. I would take 4540.
  12. A few weeks ago, on the Oasis, when my cabin steward introduced himself, one of the things I asked for was a paper Cruise Compass every day. He said, "It's in your profile; Day 1 is on the bed." (I hadn't seen it). When I mentioned it to a friend, I said that it was interesting that they kept a file of personal preferences. My friend laughed and said, "They look at your age, see that you are old, and assume that you want the paper Compass."
