  1. As previously stated, all of the major cruise lines doing New England have to go to Canada for the cruise to be legal. You would need to look at a smaller line, like America Cruise Lines to avoid that stop. With that said, the cost for ACL is also 3x the majors.
  2. Per person. Again, I'm doing this off of memory so I might be off.
  3. The closest rental car is at the airport in Ellsworth. There are little electric things you can rent.
  4. Yes, Princess does not have couches in standard balcony cabins.
  5. Yes, you just purchase the thermal suite separately. I think I paid $110 for the week last year. I believe it has gone up. I also booked it in advance. My favorite part of the ship.
  6. There are no exceptions to the rule that all adults in the cabin must purchase the package.
  7. I believe all of the doors have been replaced with windows.
  8. The bikes might not have weight limits, but the insurance companies do.
  9. I could be mistaken, but I don't believe the casino is open at all in Hawaii waters.
  10. No, you can't bring food ashore. Agriculture laws. I'm surprised your tour vendor even suggested it. You can bring sealed stuff like granola bars ashore, but not a baggie from the buffet. All confiscated liquor is disposed of.
  11. You can't. Messaging is not enabled on this board.
  12. Yes, you will need to store them in your cabin.
  13. I had an enjoyable time. Haven't been on the Gem to compare. Did the Dawn quite a few years ago. While not the same, I'll just say similar.
  14. We were locals, so no reason to stick around. Get off the ship, get to the car, and head home (after stopping to pick up the doggy first).
  15. I cruised twice last year to Bermuda on the Pearl. The first time, we were docked starboard side, the second time port.
  16. You can show up at the lot without a reservation, the cost per day is more. With that said, it's actually cheaper once you take into account the convenience fee charged by the vendor 🙂 The lot is 5 minutes away. There are two shuttles. The pretty much go every 15 minutes, or once the shuttle is full. It's really not a big deal. I believe the garage is discouraging cruise parking due to the increase in commercial business in the port requiring parking. There is the lot in front of the ship, but I have no information on it. I cruised twice out of Boston last year and parked in the offsite lot each time. Both times were safe, easy, and no issue. My only complaint, if I had one, is that the shuttle parks all the way at the end of the terminal. So you have to walk the entire length of the terminal to turn in luggage, and then double back to get in line.
  17. Sanctuary can only be booked onboard. If you want a lounger, get there as soon as you board. I can't answer to the amenities. When I had the thermal suite on the Star, there were no hot tubs or pools.
  18. I was in a non-Haven suite on the Pearl. All suite guests (Haven and non-Haven) met in Lotus Garden and were escorted out the crew door in the back straight to the gangway. That was probably one of the best benefits (outside of breakfast in Moderno each morning).
  19. For the distilled water, go to the special needs form https://www.ncl.com/about/accessible-cruising and request it. With regards to reservations, please keep in mind that POA has been having staffing issues and not all restaurants are open. It's possible you won't be able to make reservations until onboard.
  20. Sorry OP, but I'm a rule follower. Since the rule is one bottle up to 750ml, that is all I would bring (if I drank wine).
  21. When the vendors providing the samples stopped doing so.
  22. IMHO, it's better to have the paper version versus having to keep flipping through your phone to find the electronic one.
  23. It appears that there was a medical emergency on board that required a passenger to be debarked for an ambulance.
