  1. I got to the pool deck a few minutes later....
  2. We were on Beyond two weeks ago in the Caribbean. I got up early one morening to make a sunrise picture and get some early monring light images around the ship. Can anyone say chair hogs? Good luck getting 9 together before 7am
  3. The best deals that I have found are during a Black Friday or July 4 sale when the wifi packages are often cut by 50%. Sadly we cannot get the Elite discount on that sale price most of the time. The 30% off/90 free minutes is an either or deal so I have come to question the real value of the "benefit" since I can often it cheaper during a sale.
  4. We were on the Beyond last week. Looked the MC over and found the seats are nice and comfortable but you are outside and the space is not that big really compared to our old favorites the Sky Lounge and the Rendezvous. Cute idea but I just don't get the big whoop with it. No tender ports so I cant address that issue.
  5. I am sure you could but they pretty much want you off the ship by 9:30 or so. We had told our cabin attendant we planned to walk off around 8am and at 8:01 he was at the door ready to get cleaning.
  6. We were on the same trip and did self assist with two large rolling bags and had no issues. They did set aside two early time slots, from around 7:30am to 8am and 8am to 8:30am with a meeting place set as Eden but we just left our cabin at 8:10am and took the elevator to deck 5 and the gangway and off we went. It was easy.
  7. Thanks, not stressing, just trying to cross all of the t's and dot all of the i's after a long travel day
  8. We board the Beyond tomorrow at noon, checked in ages ago, have the xpress passes from the web site printed as back up but using the app there is no health questionaire, no xpress passes, just a note that "they are still gathering information". Is this normal? or just Celebrity's usual IT failure or am I don't something wrong?
  9. It is all supply and demand. IF they are booked up then they don't need to offer any discounts....typically there are first night discounts since it is not normally a busy time for the specialty dining.
  10. I book with at TA, final payment for a trip was due a day or two before the close of a billing cycle for my card. I asked my agent about delaying the payment by 3 days to throw the charge into another billing cycle and give me 50 days to pay it rather than 25 days. As a TA he said they had the flex built in so he could do it. It was easy, it was safe. OP, if you want to do it, ask your seller, they know a whole lot more about their rules than we do...
  11. Those shingles shots are tough....but needed. I saw my cardiologist 3 weeks ago and asked about the new COVID shots. His reply "YES, GET IT, I got it, the shot, my daughter had COVID recently and it was nasty". So listening to medical professional so I see every 6 months I went and got my shot, cruise is in 10 days and now I just hope and pray it all goes well and I will be bringing my own test kits just to be safe. I have tried the "you could have easily died" thing twice in my life and I like the living part a whole lot better so if I err, it is on the side of caution.
  12. That is just plain crazy. We have done cabin changes in the past without any issues at all. For our upcoming Iceland ruise the TA picked a cabin for us but I liked another one better and he had no problem changing it since both were in the same catagory.
  13. We have done the slant and really liked it because it gives us more shade and is closer to stairs and elvators. The SV sounds appealing but between the lack of shade and the long walk we will stick with the slant/hump
  14. If you do decided to bring it, make sure it stays on the ship. Every country has its own rules and you don't want to suddelnly find yourseles confronted while off the ship.
  15. Wow, this is still a problem. We had the problem about 6-7 years ago when traveling with a British cousin. We had booked in the US with USD and she had booked in London with GBP and we could not book dinners together so we did what others suggested. Booked the same time for all 3 of us and went right to the M'D as soon as we were on the ship and he solved it for us. Celebrity's IT still sucks I guess.
  16. We were on a cruise with the AH people pre-pandemic and it was not a problem. Sometimes they had a venue reserved for their meetings etc but it was never an issue. Since we rarely book ship's tours I have no idea about them clogging up those tours. As Georgia Peaches said, they are pretty nice people and are happy to stick to themselves.
  17. Keep in mind that we have never been on an E-class ship but I would keep the SV and spend some of the extra money you are saving on specialty dining. The whole IV idea does not appeal to me. I really love being able to go outside on my own veranda any time I want.
  18. My experience with these refunds is about a week.
  19. So who in Miami went to Syracuse U????
  20. Last time I asked at guest services and was basically told "too bad". I will check with the iLounge staff in January when we board, before we activate a plan. Last time the July 4th sale made buyping a package cheaper than using the Elite discount so lets see what Black Friday and Christmas sales bring.
  21. Some of us are reacting to our loyalty benefits being watered down but as others have said, everyone is selling those benefits now. I looked at our Jan trip on the Beyond and I see nothing at all about an X pass. No biggie. We don't drink so the whole bev package thing means noting to us. We are good with sharing one device of wifi plus we get 90 minutes on the other account since we are both elite...even though we should both get the minutes once you activate a pre-purchased package it kills the free minutes whether or not you used the loyalty benefit..... We are just gonna go and have a good time and relax in the Caribbean for 10 days. I like to use the KISS system on these trips.
  22. Yeah, everytime I see one of these cash grabs I think the same thing. We have a 10night southern caribbean in January and Greenland/Iceland in August and if the experience is anything like what I am reading about on these threads it will be time to move on. Even thinking of canceling the Greenland/Iceland before final payment and just flying to Iceland for a week.
  23. Contact the Captains Club. They have a process. They will like want your boarding card and your invoice as documentation.
  24. I am guessing it was something I posted in the thread about X execs taking a trip on one of their ships to see how things really were.. anyway, what I was trying to say is that pre-pandemic we had an Iceland cruise booked out of Ireland and it got canceled. Since the pandemic we have been hesitant to go back to Europe so when X started offering cruises that start and end in the US ( Cape Liberty NJ or Boston) and go to Iceland it was something I did not want to miss and booked long ago. So, to my knowledge you cannot get a cruise that included Ireland and Iceland without flying to Europe......
  25. With all of the negative feed back here and in other places too why would they even need to "go and see"? Right now their ships are pretty full. We are on the Beyond in January and it is too late to cancel and then the Eclipse in August for a trip to Iceland and Greenland that does not require us to go to Europe to start/finish so I would hate to cancel it but right now I would not book anything else with Celebrity. We were on the Summit in July and all was good, other than the one tiny lobster tail dinner....but it sure sounds like things have gone south since then.
