  1. Speaking of stocks - I saw the following headline today and thought this kid stuck it rich: Student, 20, makes $110 million trading meme stock Bed Bath & Beyond Then I read this part 🙄 : He bought 4.96 million shares at $5.50 each through a Wyoming-based holding company he set up. Which drives this home: It takes money to make money !! Tom
  2. On the bright side, for him, he probably got to skip Customs altogether ! Tom
  3. Or, in the immortal words of Herschmann : ‘Get a Great effing Criminal Defense Attorney’
  4. Getting whiplash 🙂 Are other sectors this volatile on a daily/weekly basis? Tom
  5. ... or ... since the current points are related to Australia, they're not actually awarding anyone new points, just taking them all from the Aussies to give to others. 🙂 Tom
  6. Agreed - and it should NOT be the same $ (I assume it is?) Tom
  7. It worked well, as I recall. I don't always use it, as sometimes certain sites seem glitchy.
  8. Whew - I just saw this thread and was concerned for our 4 Steakhouse nights on the Sunrise coming up. We REALLY REALLY like the 50% off (Dom, night 1... Caymus Special night 2/elegant). It's hit/miss with regard to which Steakhouse managers will allow you to purchase additional bottles on night 1 or 2 for consumption there on subsequent nights. Side note: We were just on the Independence this last weekend. We tried Chops/Izumi/Giovanni's. The wine list in both Chops and Giovanni's offered some options: Opus One, Opus One Overture, Caymus Special, Caymus... well, I discovered that they were out of every one. Ended up with a more generic bottle, and there was no such benefit as "50% off", not even close... 😞 BTW, we prefer the food on Carnival (Steakhouse) much more! Tom
  9. If I had only invested $1B when it was $8, I could have made out like a bandit ! Tom
  10. I've got to think that (at least for now) dropping fuel prices will give them a tad more breathing room.. or buy them more time. Tom
  11. I don't recall seeing this (sticker) on prior sailings - but, I might have just not noticed. Here's our card from our Liberty sailing a couple of months ago: Tom
  12. They don't get a lot of action at those tables (on many sailings), but will open one -- at least that's been my experience lots of times. Tom
  13. Yowza - I had to go take a look. An "easy" $5k gain in just one day... I'd bail now (jk), but I'm not yet even, let alone in the black! 😐 Tom
  14. Looks like I'll have to wait until Friday! -------------------------------------------------------------- ONBOARD UPGRADE REVIEW THOMAS , We have reviewed the RoyalUp bids for your upcoming sailing onboard Independence of the Seas®, and while we have not selected your offer yet, the team onboard the ship may choose it for upgrade based on availability at departure time. 15. Yep - when the word came out that the tub was ditched on another deck, I felt lucky! Tom
  16. That's interesting - all of a sudden my deck 12 seems a little "cheated". If, indeed, they've (under the cover of darkness) pulled a fast one... Tom
  17. All's well that ends well. Though, we all know that ALL OF THIS is a moving target... Tom
  18. I did not read all the pages in this thread, but they have not yet built the ship on which I'll reach Pinnacle...
  19. Come on Carnival - admit you screwed this up a bit and get with the (NEW) program. I now know that our Bahamas cruise next Friday on the Independence of the Seas will not require testing for vaccinated guests. At least our Carnival cruise 4 weeks from now is going to Key West and Cozumel 🙂 Tom
  20. So, this just happened? We're on the next sailing, and have not heard anything yet. All suites show as sold out, and I have minimum bids in place on a 2-br GS and an OS. I had higher bids ($225 pp for both), but decided it was not worth the premium, going from our booked GS. Tom
  21. I just became aware of the Carnival/Bahamas "exception" (we have a sailing 9/1/22 - though it's just Key West and Cozumel). So, am I correct in that Royal does not share that requirement? 10 days until we sail (Indy), and just wanted to make extra sure! Tom
  22. I'll second that (though we've only been there on two cruises - with about 6 nights spent there). Our steakhouse experiences over the last few years have been steadily slipping. Of course, I've felt that way ever since they switched from the Supper Club. Like many other things in life, the price goes up as the quality goes down... My favorite meals on the Mardi Gras were at Rudi's, Chibang (though I miss Ji Ji's), and - oddly - Shaq's Big Chicken, lol !! Tom
