  1. Put it in a wheeled carry on or board later so you can go directly to your room. What were you planning to do with your other carry-ons?
  2. Less than? Not on Carnival. Equal to? Yes. Two day cruises will not have an elegant night.
  3. All Carnival cruises of more than 2 days have an elegant night. Yours will be the second night and you will have only one.
  4. When you check in for YTD on the app, you can select to be seated at a shared table.
  5. I've never seen an alcohol-free wine on board (other than the sparkling cider). You could carry on your allotment of wine as alcohol-free wine.
  6. I'm not Lee 🙂 But, we did the same shuttle back to MIA. We simply debarked with our group, grabbed our luggage, and walked out to the shuttles. Ours loaded fairly quickly and we were on our way to the airport within 15 minutes or so of arriving to the shuttle. They run multiple busses, each one leaving as it fills up (they load one at a time). Hope this helps.
  7. My kids are well past that age, but I will say that whatever rules you have for then being away from you on land should be the same on the ship. Make sure they tell you where they are going. Check up on them. Have a method to stay in contact. Have specific times when they are required to be with you. You likely have good judgment. Use it.
  8. Is it possible that the upsell was to a deluxe oceanview? I agree that $500 is a bit much for that, but a deluxe oceanview would technically be consider an upgrade.
  9. When you click on the sailing you want, it asks the number of guests and there is an option to select the number of rooms. Click add a room. You will search for them independently. Your best bet for this type of reservation it to contact your PVP, though.
  10. This is a fair question for an inexperienced cruiser. Don't forget that you will likely be seated with others who will be forced to wait for you to show up before their dinner starts. Also, service in the dining room is well-orchestrated and persons showing up late can disrupt the machine, and everyone else's dinner. I do believe that there is a posted 15 minute allowance for being late and then they ask that you dine on the Lido. If this is unacceptable, you should try to get your dining time changed to YTD.
  11. I have to wonder if Carnival charges them extra to make up for the loss in alcohol revenue LOL
  12. You and only you can assess your limitations with respect to a cruise ship. There is a LOT of walking involved, even just on the ship itself. DH is able to walk, but the ships are different. There is the rocking of the ship to contend with (if you have any balance issues), as well as the long distances. He normally will rent a scooter for the cruise and is always glad that he does. There is congestion issues at most elevators, but if you are traveling with someone who can help you navigate those crowds, the rest is easy.
  13. I've had at least one price drop after final payment date, submitted a price protection form, and received the difference as OBC.
  14. 1. You need to secure your on board account in some fashion at the begining of the cruise. You can apply cash or a credit card at the point. 2. You can go to Guest Services or use the kiosk at any point during the cruise to apply cash to your account.
  15. Please refer to the Carnival minor policy posted above.
  16. Yes, as long as your reservations are linked. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2544/~/minor-guest-policy
  17. It's unfortunate the Hertz is not one of the rental car companies that has a rental counter at Port Canaveral. Did you search for Cape Canaveral rather than Cocoa? Google shows that they have a rental counter there that offers shuttle to the cruise port.
  18. There have been reports of people stating at the port that their cruise companion isn't coming. Those at the port will go in and cancel the person not coming, causing a single supplement charge to be applied to the person actually sailing. If they don't say anything, they avoid this possibility.
  19. Opentable actually makes reservations for a specific time. Checking in on the HUB app is more like virtually giving your name to the hostess at the restaurant. You do not make reservations or select times.
  20. You will go to your muster station any time before sail-away. We like to go as soon as we board to get it done and over with. For YTD, you aren't "scheduling" your dinner. You are checking-in. Think of it as call-ahead seating in a land-based restaurant 🙂
  21. DON'T TELL THEM ANYTHING! If asked, just say she is arriving separately. If you say something at the port, you run the risk of them running her cancellation then and there and then charging you the single supplement. If you cancel before going, they will reprice your cruise and charge you the single supplement. They will refund her port fees, taxes, and any prepaids to the original form of payment. Once the ship has sailed, you will be able to purchase Cheers just for you, as she will be documented as a no-show. Have a great cruise!
  22. The only thing that they have that would be considered a "smoothie" is Naked Juice. That is in bottles at the coffee bar. That is unless there is a bar with the ability to make a smoothie (which I have never seen, but I also have never asked). There is nothing like a smoothie/juice bar such as Jamba on board.
  23. Technically, no. YMMV. I have seen some people report that they were able to, but it has never worked for me.
  24. We were in a suite in August and it was ready when we boarded. Worst case scenario is that you may have to drop and go, but either way you don't have to carry anything around.
