  1. The answer is it depends. If the others in the linked room are minors, then yes, they can board with you. If they are adults, then no. All others in the same room as the Platinum guest can board together. YMMV. Some have reported having everyone board together, even if they are adults and some have reported ports that are sticklers about it.
  2. When was the excursion cancelled? If it was cancelled during your cruise, it would have been credited to your S&S account.
  3. Three. Tennis/walking shoes, water shoes, and sandals that I can wear during the day and in the evening (so no dress shoes). By the end of the day my feet are too tired for dress shoes, anyway. I figure if people don't like my shoes, I will never see them again after the cruise anyway, so I just don't care 🙂
  4. If you are the primary person on the booking and cannot go, you cannot be replaced on the reservation. Your family member can go without you, checking in at the port and answering the question about your whereabouts with a "he's arriving separately." This will make you a no-show, rather than a cancellation. Your port fees and taxes will be refunded to the original form of payment. In this scenario, DO NOT CANCEL. One caveat, it is possible that if you have a specialty rate (such as a casino rate) that they may charge your family member an additional amount to take his fare to the going rate. It is highly unlikely, however. If you want to cancel and have your family member go without you or replace you on the reservation, Carnival will either charge him the single supplement (if going along) or refare the reservation at the going rate (with someone going with him) or both, depending on the terms of your promotion.
  5. No need. Just a pair of slacks and a nicer top will do. If you are going on a warm-weather cruise, a sundress will likely take up less space in your suitcase and will do as well. You'll find that "cruise elegant" really isn't that elegant at all.
  6. Yes. All restaurants (excluding the Lido) have the cruise elegant dress code on cruise elegant night. You do NOT need to bring "fancy" clothing, though. Basically, just wear pants 🙂
  7. I know that we all noticed the unannounced pricing increase in the Fun Shops, but has anyone noticed the pricing increase in excursions? I have the Tracy Arm Fjord excursion booked for next year and it is now $20 pp more than what I booked it for. I have a couple of other excursions "favorited" in the website, and those have gone up significantly from when I first looked at them. Unfortunately, for Alaska, the excursions we want are often not available outside of Carnival 😞
  8. There is only one cruise elegant night on a 5 day. It is at the 6 day mark where you see the second one.
  9. Here is what I have observed on one cruise (and a variation of the same story on other cruises). The table next to us on elegant night says, I want two lobsters and the sides that go with the prime rib, but just bring me that because I don't want to waste food. So, the waiters bring from the kitchen three plates (2 full lobster meals and 1 prime rib meal), then then reconstruct the configuration that the customers requested and trashed the rest. No avoidance of wasted food, just the appearance of it. It may be possible on some nights to have the food come from the kitchen in a special configuration, but elegant night is the busiest night of the cruise (particularly the first elegant night). They have already plated those dishes in the kitchen. I agree that it would be wiser for Carnival to have some plates of just lobster tails available for that evening, though.
  10. They technically eliminated priority for ADA customers prior to Covid; however, in my experience that is entirely port-dependent. Some embarkation ports have continued providing priority boarding for those customers, others have them board with their boarding zone (or as assistants are available, for those who have wheelchair assistance).
  11. Do you mean to add it to pay for your cruise, or to add it to your S&S account? If you are asking about adding them to your S&S account, the above are both correct. You can add onboard at GS or using the kiosk. If you want the funds available immediately when you board, you can use them to purchase Cruise Cash. I normally do a mixture of the two (purchase just a little bit of Cruise Cash to get us started so I don't have to be in a hurry to get to the kiosk or GS).
  12. It is absolutely that easy. When you go to pay on your cruise, there is a section to pay with gift card. Enter your information there. Done.
  13. If he has DOU all over the ship, she can add Cheers onboard only. If he only has DOU while in the casino, they would both have to purchase.
  14. I'll be curious to see what it includes. We used to purchase it because we could have our room ready when we board. Since that is no longer true for P/D, I'm sure it won't be included with FTTF. That significantly decreases the value of the program for us.

  16. I think that is because they were already higher priced and had restriction in place. For example, Chops Grille on RC is already $65 and they only offer ice cream from 11:00 - 7:00. I think that Carnival's generously low prices and attempts to appeal to those who want 24 hour items make this seem like extreme measures; however, they are still lower priced than their competitors.
  17. I have to wonder if other lines are simply making those changes and not providing announcements that effect. TBH, I think that on most other lines there were already some of these restrictions (if you choose to call them that) in place and higher prices for their alternative dining venues. It was Carnival's efforts to maintain the low price point that caused them to have to raise it now. Their margins on these items were just too low to absorb the increased sourcing costs.
  18. JH confirmed that it will be coming back, but he didn't have a timeline for it.
  19. Room Service normally begins at 6:00. That and Lido coffee are your only options that early.
  20. You should be able to see if your cabins are connecting on the deck plans. I've pasted an example. The little white triangles that I circled indicate that those staterooms are connecting.
  21. Personally, I would check with the cruiseline on this. Most closed-loop cruises do not require passports; however, there are some destinations which will require them.
  22. I agree with @jsglow, it is right there at the top.
  23. There is only one shareholder OBC per stateroom. So, if you each own stock in your name and are in separate staterooms, then you could each get the credit. I don't know how it would work if you co-owned the shares.
  24. Cruise Cash user here (we use it the same way, just to get us started). When you purchase CC, you can direct who it is for, so you can purchase just for you, if you wish. Carnival will use CC first, before tapping any cash that you put on your account. I recommend using the kiosk to add cash to avoid the lines at GS, but there is even a line there on the first day. If you do not use all of your cruise cash, it is not refunded, but you can use the casino trick to cash it out (add to a slot machine, spin once, cash it out).
