  1. I've gone on 21+ day cruises with a duffel bag that weighs less then 50lbs. It can be done, if you are concerned pack lighter, I've found you don't often need half the stuff you over pack.
  2. I just logged on here today specifically to read more of that thread.
  3. I plan on doing a Maho Beach excursion on my upcoming cruise. I just wanted up to date information about the experience as the threads here are a little dated. Is there enough time to travel from cruise port to beach bar for the day, enough time to see some bigger planes land/take off I here theirs a board at a bar just like inside the airport showing arrivals and departures, which is the best bar to chill at for the best plane experience, so on and so forth? TYIA
  4. Some idiot would say "he died doing what he loved" (cruising) I would be right there saying, I'm pretty sure he didn't love clutching his chest in massive pain and facepalming onto the Lido deck.
  5. I have been on only 11 cruises, and about 5 "floats" in the Marine Corps that last about 6 to 9 months each, never once have I needed an inch of duct tape.
  6. Yes it was a 1 night stand that lasted 4 or 5 days at the time, after a few days she asked me if I wanted a ride to the airport. We stayed in touch and hooked up some time later, after that she became my ex-wife of 6.5 years (no kids) we are still FB friends today.
  7. I disembarked myself in FLA on time after boarding in NY, I didn't say anything to anyone. I had met a woman who convinced me to stay with her for a few days instead of going to the Bahamas that I have been to many times. I never heard anything till after my next cruise at CBP, they brought me to secondary said I was in all kinds of trouble, the only think to happen to me was a stern talking to, a $300 fine and I got a really big stamp in my passport in big red letters that said PSVA Violation across 2 pages, and that was it. Coolest passport stamp I'v gotten so far.
  8. I did the U.S. Navy version as a Marine aboard USS Reagan everyone got a shellback card, but we didnt just wake up to it in our suites there was hell to pay, good times looking back now. I'm sure the cruise ship version is far different than the aircraft carrier version.
  9. Many of us have a cruise booked and are awaiting embarkation, these are considered 1st world problems, and those are considered good things to have.
  10. My first cruise was a wedding gift from my ex's farther, it was 10 days aboard HAL it was a great first time experience, my upcoming cruise in Jan. will be my 12th cruise mostly aboard NCL
  11. The only winning move is, not to play.
  12. It has been my understanding that one can not travel with a passport that expires within 6 months is merely a strong suggestion and not a law, based on my past experiences.
  13. Years ago I remember looking into that and I believe it was about $300
  14. It is what it is we all saw this coming a long time ago. My only concern is the final price, the ship and the itinerary in that order. Itineraries last because I’ve been to all the Caribbean ports that I go to dozens of times my biggest concern is the overall final price and the ship because many times I don’t even get off the ship in the Caribbean.
  15. It’s only a suggestion not a requirement. If your passport is not expired it is valid. I’ve gone through CBC with a passport that was going to expire in two weeks without a problem.
  16. My first cruise was a wedding gift from my father-in-law. My wife and I went on a 14 day, Holland America cruise we loved it and although since then we’ve gotten divorced and remarried, and we divorced again I still happily cruise solo now and since then I’ve just gotten off my 14th cruise this past January and have one booked for October of this year.
  17. I believe I had to wait 2 days.
  18. Would that be North, Central, or South? You can't possibly assume we would all know what you are referring to.
  19. You could always do what every other parent seems to do After you walk on the ship tell all your kids that you will see them in 7 days when you guys leave the ship.
  20. Just try trusting your cabin steward and the signage on the containers, you could also ask your fellow passengers what color their shampoo is and what color their body wash is that should make for an interesting conversation If at the very least a first.
  21. I have hooked up many devices to TV's on NCL cruises via HDMI port in the past, so much so I would be confident not bringing the projector just the DVD player and some DVD's
  22. You could bring your DVD player and just plug it into the room TV via an HDMI cable, save yourself the trouble of bringing a projector with you.
  23. Start a new thread here on the Norwegian boards stating the exact nature of your complaints and you will get plenty of responses.
