  1. On the Zuiderdam trans-Atlantic in May, they showed it in the afternoon on a sea day. I would go see it one more time in the future if there wasn't anything else I wanted to do at the time it was showing. Interesting history and pictures! ~Nancy
  2. $2.95 per gallon for distilled water. Can be purchased online where other beverages/packages are listed. Delivered to your cabin.
  3. I've been drinking ship water over the last 42 years! Not any problems at all.
  4. star-deck-plans-jan2024.pdf (windstarcruises.com) The new section cabins are called "Star Balcony Suites" and Star Ocean View Suites". Old section is just "Balcony Suite" and Ocean View Suite.
  5. I would now look at booking a solo cabin on this ship since they will have a balcony! I'm looking forward to seeing the final product in a couple of years! ~Nancy
  6. I stayed in that hotel before the same cruise in 2019! I liked the old school style. I then stayed a couple of days in Vina del Mar before boarding Symphony in Valparaiso. It's also a very interesting and pretty area to stay. ~Nancy
  7. I ask for folded on everything in my last laundry of the cruise. Ready to pack!! On my Trans Atlantic on Zuiderdam in May I didn’t get any laundry notes. Fine by me for no note. It was nice in the beginning but I kind of got the impression that it was a bit of a not too subtle tip request after a while. 🤷‍♀️. Not a big deal either way to me.
  8. @sousak78 Glad to hear you had a good experience and thanks for reporting back! I want to add that one of the big pluses to using rideshare (Uber/Lyft etc) is that they do automatically track the ride for you so both the rider and Lyft are watching. I had a Lyft driver in Miami last year accidentally take a wrong turn and so the ride took a little longer than would be normal, and the Lyft app messaged me and asked if everything was all right! I really appreciated that feature of the App! Happy solo travels everyone! ~Nancy
  9. If you are in the Pinnacle Suite or Neptune suites.
  10. I always manage to find some sort of “Celebration Emergency” on a regular basis!! 😎
  11. My local Total Wine store, San Francisco East Bay sells VC 750 ml for about $45 plus tax. I keep some in my fridge at all times in case of “emergency celebrations “!! 😁
  12. I just rode the train from Oslo to Bergen 3 days ago. Just do it!! 😉 I'm boarding the Havila Castor tomorrow for the Bergen to Kirkenes to Bergen round trip. I'll come back and post some thoughts here on CC either during or after the trip. ~Nancy
  13. Also, Congratulations on your first posting on Cruise Critic!
  14. Here are some daily schedules from a recent Alaska cruise from @Crew News excellent website. Have a look at them to get a general idea. The times vary some by ship and itinerary. Times not set in stone. Alaska Ms Koningsdam 7-Day Daily Programs – 2024 | Roger Jett Photography (rogerjett-photography.com) Have a fun cruise! ~ Nancy
  15. The HAL booking site will give you the solo fare in a mock booking. It won't search for cruises by price though. I've booked my solo fare on the site a couple of times. (then transferred to my TA) ~Nancy
  16. Go to the HAL Roll Call forum linked below and just post on it! Have a great trip!
  17. I thought you were transferring from HAL to the TA in my answer in post #2 so don't have an answer for transferring from TA back to HAL. I've never done that. I was trying to be helpful, and your situation is rather unusual. I don't need to hear your personal details or reasons. It was a curious request is all. ~Nancy
  18. Okay. It would have to be a drastic problem with a TA for me to transfer an already made booking and deprive them of their commission! I would just find a new TA for my next cruise if I didn't want to keep the one I had. Hopefully OP will come back and explain just to let us know the reasoning.
  19. Why would your TA be unhappy that you transferred your booking from HAL to them? (You certainly aren't transferring from TA to HAL are you?) The TA gets their commission! The price and details/refundability that you booked with HAL will still stand. The TA can add additional OBC or other perks if they wish. I have done the transfer a few times and everything worked out well. Have a great trip! ~Nancy
  20. I just got off Zuiderdam on May 25th in Ijmuiden. The coupons could be used for any drink on the Signature beverage package and could be given to other passengers to use.
  21. What other cruise lines currently have a Catholic Priest onboard for all cruises? ~Nancy
  22. Ha ha.....smartypants!!! 😉
