  1. I finally gave the landline up about 4 years ago when all the calls were spam calls. It would ring constantly with crap. I had hesitated because I had that number for 40 years.
  2. You mean this is first time you noticed. The fact that points have not been added to the total on both Celebrity and Royal and that is not only PUP points but points from actual cruise sailings means that whoever is responsible for running the software has not done it yet. Maybe they are on vacation this week or they have something else to do or maybe the program is hung. At least the points are in past history that means the server isn’t hosed. It will resolve. You all can call all you want but call center people are just going to tell you something to get you off the line because they can’t do it and they have to move on to other calls.
  3. Don’t know why people are surprised. Celebrity and Royal say it could take up to 30 days for points to be added.
  4. An iPad is a type of computer. So is an iPhone.
  5. If the workers have the day off then it could. I don’t know if they do or not as some companies give the day off and some don’t. I don’t think that updating total points is a priority though.

  7. That is possible but it is unwise to risk getting a cruise cancelled to delay the payment just to move it a month. For a cruise I always pay 5 busness days ahead of when the payment is do to make sure the payment was accepted by the credit card company. For other goods and services it usually does not matter.
  8. All I can figure is they might go over their credit limit and it would be declined. If that is the case they should call the credit card company an attempt to get their credit limit raised. Or make a payment before the end of the period so they don’t go over their credit limit.
  9. If you booked with a travel agent they might have fudged the actual date to make sure all payments are collected. Call them. If you booked direct you need to pay by the date they gave you.
  10. All my female friends and relatives seem to manage. Since most people have smartphones they probably won’t notice they lost your business.
  11. The iPhone 6 is over nine years old. Anything over seven years old is obsolete and neither Apple or third party developers continue support for hardware that old. It is also a mistake to continue to use a phone that no longer is supported because it has not been getting security updates. Your phone is easy pickings fo hackers and you can bet they are out there looking for vulnerable devices. So if you could get an old software update installed I advise against using that phone.
  12. What Jim stated is a fact on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. A few years ago it worked the way it does on NCL but they plugged that outside access soon after they released new apps.

  14. Ugh. I think it takes a year to recover from that surgery. I had a couple of friends who had torn ACL. They could re-injure themselves. They should consult with their Doctor.
  15. The summer tour? What kind of injury? It is on somewhat rugged wet terrain. They should not have major mobility issues. Hiking, snorkeling and cliff jumping. Explore a cave. They would not have to Snorkel or cliff jump but moderate hiking is necessary. They provide a backpack with supplies they will have to carry. It is a high activity tour.
  16. You make a good o point there are now smartphones that flip or fold. I would worry about the durability of those smart flip phones at this time. If Apple ever comes out with one I might consider it.
  17. Yes there are still a few left who can’t learn new things or who don’t want to pay for a smartphone. iPhones don’t control people, we control iPhones.

That will help with group chats and sending and receiving videos from Android users who use RCS messaging when iMessage is updated sometime later this year but SMS messages are not going away as many Android users don’t use RCS messaging and then there are flip phone users will be using SMS. There are a bunch of on Cruise Critic who laud the fact that they use flip phones. 📞

  20. It should send sms text if using wifi calling if sms text is toggled on.
  21. If they didn’t set up WiFi calling at home they may have to use WhatsApp.
  22. I had that issue once with the Royal app. The IT guy onboard had to get something reset on their server for my account.
