I thought I will miss two services a day. But we cruised 2 times since it changed and I like it more. We are pretty accurate and don’t make a mess during a day. Maybe our bed is not 100%, but nothing requires cleaning second time. I used to tidy up everything before the second service … I feel freer now. We also don’t need to check if our room is done or not in the evening.
Yes it was suspended after Covid.
Also it is a bit different... servers with Hors D'oeuvre go around.
Drinks you get from the lounge and other bars. Kind of like RCI had before, but outside drinks are unlimited. (all from 5 to 7 pm) However just like RCI had before pandemic drinks are from limited Captains club menu. Although this menu was IMHO better than RCI Diamond menu before.
Some people think that cruising is for people for whom money is no object.
It is all about priorities.
We are interested in it, we like longer cruises and do not have kids, but bookings are going pretty well.
I cannot remember exactly which company, but we did
London via Salisbury, Stonehenge & Windsor.
Prior to delivering us to London center they dropped people in several terminals of Heathrow.
We sail to Bahamas, Caribbeans and Bermuda all the time from NJ.
You cannot predict the weather, but I would not say that one direction is more stormy that another. Storms are rare, but waves do happen from time to time..
We usually do 1 out of 5 cruises a year out of Bayonne on Vision class. 12 dayers to S Caribbeans. Others are Oasis, Quantum, Voyager/Freedom classes … Last two years it was Enchantment. We enjoyed it a lot! We love Centrum with tons of music daily! Boleros is a nice addition. Shows are nice.
We love all windows in Centrum! Enchantment also has tons of paintings around Centrum.. makes fun to explore them.
Yes.. we became more loyal…
Not only because of perks, Royal offers great value … and the best collection of cruises out of Northeast year around, but perks are nice.
Amazing ship and right size.
It is smaller than Oasis class, but pretty much second after that.
5 day cruise features amazing entertainment!
The best ice show. Encore
Broadway show - Saturday night fever
Circus de Soleil type of show: In the air
We enjoyed every second of it in May even though weather was meh for most days
We do not cruise in suites. We do cruise 5 times a year. We even cruise around holidays to maximize vacation. Disembarkation day is always my work day if not a weekend (work remotely while driving).
We made it to D in May 2018 (cruised since 2003, but with 8 lines till 2021). Made to D+ in 2022. Next cruise we will have 283. I think with at pace we will make it in another 8-10 years well before retirement.
Well.. this is not entirely true. People buy those balconies. We bought obstructed balconies for example. People who buy GTY only assigned those if others did not buy them. And they pay less. fair deal.
No, it’s not free usually.
Loans are provided.
As much as we want it to be free.. if we expect government to evacuate us from dangerous places.. government will oversee where we are going. Do you want this?
We had 3 NYE on Royal ships and two on Princess. All were amazing. Big celebrations, balloon(s) drop, musing, dancing before and after New Year… fun fun.
