After cruising with 8 lines (in signature) including ones you mentioned Royal became our line of choice. Well rounded line. We love number of choices from various ports near us. We enjoy all classes, including smaller Vision class (like Rhapsody)

Not sure I will sail on that ship any time soon as we do not have kids for some time. However we noticed that if ship is designed correctly number of kids is not a problem at all. We sail on Anthem often .. with $1300+ kids. RCI created amazing Solarium where we "live", and there are many other areas.

We sailed with Celebrity, Princess, Royal, NCL, Cunard, MSC, Holland and Carnival multiple times and while level of pax refinement varies by line, I never seen many drunks or uncontrollable drinking on any.

I’m envious in a good way. We almost saw launch of SpaceX during Thanksgiving. Last minute cancellation. Enjoy your cruise!

I’m sure if not for pandemic nothing of this sort would’ve happened. They don’t do it to upset cruisers. Cruise industry almost got ruined. Literally. And they aren’t out of the water yet. Far from it. Things may improve though. I remember my first cruise with NCL in 2008. I was literally shocked. If you remember Vegas Vacation when Griswold with his cousin went to cheap buffet and asked to give him that blue thing and yellow thing.. Well desserts on NCL Spirit were all same jello type cakes in different colors. Yet our next cruise with them in 2011 featured nice variety

Actually European cookies and cakes are great. They have less sugar, but taste is not only about sugar. I am actually afraid of American low sugar food... it tastes artificial.

I think it is a personal matter. I try to avoid any desserts. We eat on cruises more than we should anyway. However from time to time I eat mousses and they are not bad at all. Not a huge fun of cookies, but sometimes rangers cookies in Park Cafe are good. I remember loving Princess and HAL desserts, but we do not sail with them anymore

Great you found your luggage!!! We do self debarkation for a different reason (to be able to drive home ASAP), but this justifies it even more.

This will not change a thing. We as a family of two got Covid 3 times on cruises last and this year. First time both of us in Jan 2022 - Tests + masks everywhere Me in September 2022 - Test My husband in Jan 2023 - Nothing We cruised 10 times since restart and after tests became available for home use after every cruise people in cruise groups were posting multiple Covid cases. We need to start treating Covid as a cold/flu. I noticed that our Covid infections repeat flu infection pattern. We were getting flu/cold on winter cruises often, and sometimes in September.

They do. Before pandemic during Happy Hours (3.5 h) drinks were unlimited, but from limited menu inside of lounge and 3 vouchers to use outside of this lounge (also limited menu). Now it is 4 drinks of any type under $14 at any bar during the day.

Out 25 times with RCI we had a number of balconies. I have not noticed any correlation. They do not automatically appear. At least not in majority cases.

So people not only need this type of entertainment (every time we showed up in Boleros there was a trivia), but they need real prizes for this? 🙂

Then it is probably related to you being in suites rather to the level of C&A. Of course this request will be accommodated if we needed them.

Interesting. We are D+ cruising 5 times per year and don’t remember robes automatically placed. We don’t need them and want space for our own clothes, but still…

It is interesting that X is still offering both. On RCI there is only 1 option now.

We usually sail with Royal, but love X. Recently they switched from Surf & Stream to just a Stream and use Starlink. Did X transition to Starlink? How is WiFi quality on Celebrity (Eclipse)? We are thinking about booking 11 dayer on Eclipse to New England and Canada from Boston in Aug 28 2024 and maybe I will need to work on 1 or 2 days from the ship. This of course will depend on quality of internet. I worked once from Silhouette, but that was long time ago.

Agree! This what we LOVED on Poesia in 2013 and what changed on Divina in 2014 (both from Florida) This was entertainment on Poesia On Divina entertainment was much more adjusted to American. Opera was great and Italian, but singers where my fellow Ukrainians (don't get me wrong, they were extremely talented, but not Italians) I love American things, but for that I have all other lines. We picked MSC to have some European/Italian flare I also do not think they had real Italian or European food to start with .We travel to Europe from time to time.

I keep hearing WiFi is great on Enchantment as this is our next trip. As for Anthem which ALWAYS had great internet, I used to work specifically on Anthem as I could always rely on it. Last cruise (in January) it was so hit or miss. When it worked it was fine, but we lost connections during last several days every 5-10 minutes and had to forget network and connect back. And it was OK before 9 am, but then (many people logged in?) it was very spotty. Issues disappeared after several days though. Cannot explain.

We had balconies on both 10 and 12th floors on Anthem (identical ship) and it was quiet, and views were not very different.

Sailing out of NYC or any northeastern ports without Indoor pool or Solarium is cruel. This is why we only sail with RCI or Celebrity (when they are present from November to March).

We did not use, but it was available on all our D+ cruises.

Interesting. I do not think if we will sail with MSC any time soon.. as we sail locally from Northeast now, but we thought entertainment on MSC Divina 2014 and smaller Poelia 2013 was one of the best. Production shows nightly, opera.. and some very authentic Italian stuff. Food was weak and service too relaxed we thought. Ships were spectacularly beautiful.
