  1. It looks identical to the one we did in 2019 - agreed "so so" or actually disappointing, as the sculptures of the “Orixás” representing the deities of the African – Brazilian religion was advertised as a highlight, but unfortunately our viewing of these striking sculptures was through trees from inside our bus on the far side of the road as we drove past, not on foot at the water's edge as anticipated. From my photos and their descriptions, the fort : Barra Lighthouse in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil is the oldest lighthouse in the Americas and was completed in 1698, following the sinking of the Spanish Galleon Sacramento some 30 years earlier. The Bahia Nautical Museum is housed in the complex and features crockery, cutlery and personal belongings of over 400 castaways from the Sacramento galleon. Enjoy the cruise!
  2. Last month on Quest there were four reds and four whites available each day - no changes except when one red ran out and another replaced it.
  3. No need for shuttles in Zadar, Split and Kotor. Sorry, haven't been to the others so unable to comment.
  4. Most nights there will be two shows - 8.15 and 9.30 in the Cabaret Lounge. No shows on White Night and the Azamazing Evening.
  5. Unfortunately can't rely on that any more - may depend on who the Captain is. I believe Johannes was still announcing, but Jonas wasn't and in spite of our care we managed to bring it home from Quest. Given the incubation time from exposure and the onset of symptoms less than 24 hours after leaving the ship, it's pretty obvious where we contracted it.
  6. Suggest that they read the website terms and conditions and refer them to the responses from @laurieb and @Riocca
  7. Perhaps because the answer varies from ship to ship due to the location of the various dining rooms and the kitchens that supply them.
  8. According to Crew Center Port Schedules, Onward is due to drop anchor at Villefranche-sur-mer on 19 April at 0800, departing the next day at 2100 : https://crew-center.com/villefranche-france-cruise-ship-schedule
  9. The cruise above - 6 February on Quest was fully booked.
  10. Given the number of ports where shuttles are running, your message "shuttles suspended" must be port specific. Where are you cruising?
  11. Shuttles are also running where necessary in Australian ports.
  12. Just looked at the itinerary and that's what it says - an Azamazing Day in groups (presumably tender groups) with slightly staggered starts, walking around Portovenere, with music in various locations and ending with a buffet lunch - doesn't say whether the lunch is ashore or back on board! Personally, I would prefer to do my pwn thing in Portovenere - and what about those who want to do Cinque Terre??
  13. Matthew is on Quest currently. Some years back we were able to use four "free" nights on a ridiculously expensive three night cruise stuck between two nine nighters we wanted to do. We lost the fourth "free" night, but it was worth it to have the middle cruise paid for. Our six "free" nights ended up costing - we used them on a Norway cruise because "Norway cruises are never discounted" - well that one did get quite heavily discounted so we ended up paying more by using the "free" nights.
  14. Ryszard said that Starlink is going in on Quest during the current voyage, Fremantle to Hong Kong. Trish

    New website.

I can confirm that this 'trick' also worked in my case. I had booked my first Azamara cruise, then canceled it and from that moment on my points and tier would not show up anymore on Azamara, Celebrity and RCI. Deleting the loyalty number on my profile and then re-adding it fixed the issue. I did this on my Celebrity account, but I guess it would also have worked if I had done this on either the Azamara or RCI website. Thanks! That has just worked for us as we kill time until our 1pm checkout prior to boarding Quest in Sydney at our time slot of 2pm. 😊
  17. Thanks for your responses - all sorted! 🤩
  18. In the past we have been able to have (well vetted) family members come on board for a visit and to explore our "home away from home" to see some of what has kept us coming back over the years. I know this was suspended due to covid, but wondering whether it may have been re-introduced yet, as i have just found out one of my daughters who previously missed out, will be in one of the ports we visit next week on the same day. Thanks in advance for any response.

    New website.

Hopefully Australia will receive notification at some stage!
  20. Absolutely agree with this! So much other information is printed and distributed on a daily basis, (for example the daily information sheet "The Insider" if it still called that) your suggestion ought to at least be able to be done prior to or at the beginning of each cruise! I'm sure it would save quite a bit of angst on a daily basis if cruisers were not requesting wines from the list only to be told it is not available.
  21. Agree with the above, posted as I slowly typed. I like the suggestion of @uktogto do a private tour to fill in the time.
  22. If I had responded negatively to the stressful pre-departure problem encountered on our first Azamara cruise, we would not be about to embark on our 31st. Problem solver Ryszard - within 5 minutes of becoming aware of what had gone on all afternoon as Guest Relations batted back and forth with luggage handlers. At that stage I had no idea who he was, but soon became aware and have enjoyed many of our cruises with him as HD.
  23. The Australian site has October to December 2022.
  24. Australian ports accept home tests - unsupervised, but with photographic evidence of date and time taken plus/minus the actual test for viewing by staff supervising boarding. We boarded another line in December, tested in our hotel room the afternoon before and photographed our results against the computer showing date and time. From the New South Wales Government website : https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/travel/cruising-rules Eastern Seaboard and Western Australian Cruise Protocols : "6.2 Passengers must have a PCR test within 48 hours before boarding, or a self-administered RAT within 24 hours before boarding. Cruise lines will advise passengers embarking in Australia that pre-embarkation PCR testing must be done at a private laboratory."
