My First Edge Boarding Pass! Arrival Appointment and Muster Station Included!

I printed my first Edge Xpress Pass today! They are set up a bit differently than my last Celebrity Xpress Pass.

It is interesting that it has our muster station. It is number one - maybe Eden, since we are above Eden in the aft? I'm glad we are number 1 - do you think that means we will be the first off if we have to abandon ship? ;)

My arrival appointment is at 11:30. I will be there with bells on (probably a week early!).

There was a barcode, but I cut it off in case anyone decided to copy it and show up at 11:00 to take my spot. :D

This looks exactly like the SetSail boarding passes issued by Royal Caribbean on Their Oasis and Quantum class ships.

On Royal they no longer give out your room key at check-in. The cards are placed in your stateroom, with one being placed outside on the door so you can get in. Until you go pick up your card in your room, you use the boarding paper you brought along as your identification and to charge purchases like bar drinks.

Because some people won't get to their room in time before the muster drill to pick up their cards, the muster station is printed on the boarding pass too, so you know where to go for the drill.

The reason the Edge Express Pass looks so similar to Royals'd perhaps means the boarding procedure will be similar.

Interesting! I haven't been on Royal since 2011 so haven't experienced that method of boarding. It's good to know that the company has some experience with it.

That makes sense to have our muster stations on the boarding pass, but I hope we are in our stateroom before then! :D

VT, excited for you!!! Not that far away. Can’t wait to hear your reviews on the new terminal and the Edge as a whole. Lots of speculation laced with even more excitement!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

It is getting exciting - a new terminal and a new class of ship! I suspect that my PCD (post-cruise depression) is going to be severe this time around. ;)

Congrats VT....won't be long now!

Did you download the pass from your cruise manager page or was it e mailed to you?

Looks nice..esp if you have a color printer..we don't but b & w should be ok!

Looks like Celebrity is all Royal now in procedures.. ( odd that they would put a room key outside the door)

Let the Vt countown begin!

VT- you are number one in my book! Celebrity just acknowledged that too! Your boarding pass now has me more excited than ever to sail Edge. Can't wait until January! I think you should do a live blog from the Hippie Van one day once on board.

TeeRick has an excellent idea!

Why don’t we start a thread where people can post questions and those on the first cruise can do their beat to answer those questions and post pictures/comments. Granted it is a short cruise so one person can’t do it all (and enjoy the cruise too!) so it will need to be a joint effort, but I am willing to help.....but my answers will have ot be after the fact as we didn’t purchase the internet package....:(

Carnival had the same procedure.

Vt, Are you really going to wait until 11:30 to arrive? Haha! I recall you posting at one point you would be there at 8 am! :) I am taking the red eye in and don’t see myself waiting until my “appointment time” to artive at port. Do you think we are going to have issues with coming early? You will have to let me know, since we don’t board until 12/6.

Vtcruising - Yes that means you’ll be ‘in line’ to be first off, but if I’m behind you, I’ll be using everyone in front of me as a human ladder, so you better move quickly! Woman and Children First.....baa humbug!

thank you again for your great posts and fantastic threads you start!

Oh, I will be there earlier.... You'll probably see me being escorted away by Security. :D

I'm not sure if there is another cruise from the 4-6th, since they are christening her on the 4th. If there is no one to disembark, we should be able to get on a bit earlier. I may show up at 10:00 or so and see.

Oh yes, I have my Vermont Hippie Van t-shirt ready for my live blog. They are probably going to inactivate my Retreat access, if I'm not careful! ;)
