The Freedom outdoor screen was very neat. We were often up very early to get our walk in. Before sunrise the screen showed starry night and moon scenes. As sunrise approached it changed to "Good Morning" greetings in several languages.

Being up so early, we never saw what Freedom showed later that night.

Our recent Freedom cruise was outstanding!

Capt. Claus said it isn't going to be obtrusive or like on the other line, but I don't understand how It could be any different. I guess we will find out. I'm not crazy about the idea of a movie screen outside either.

I'm all in favor of more entertainment options especially free ones.

I'm a little hard-pressed to think of entertainment on Royal Caribbean ships that charge. Golf simulator? Rarely used, and who cares? Casino? Of course that costs money. Bingo? Well, there are potential cash winnings.

Apparently not, if you read some of the CC “ship cruise reviews”.

Since no one has yet completed a cruise on the revitalized ship, what reviews can you be referring to? When we sailed on Radiance last June, which was around the time that most of the plumbing complaints were surfacing, we and our several friends experienced no such problems, so I'd suggest that you wait until the dry dock work has been completed and guests have actually sailed on the ship before reaching any conclusions.

I think that many persons new to RCI have a hard time believing that nearly all of the entertainment options and many of the dining options don't have a charge attached to them. It seems that we frequently see posts which claim that nothing onboard is free of charge. Perhaps people have become too cynical.:)

If you go to Youtube and search for Radiance of the Seas there are videos of some of the revitalization of the ship. They range in about minute to 3 minute segments... some it's interesting to see especially for those that have been on it recently. Sounds like they're doing a lot including rooms, bathrooms, adding more food venues and changing the Scoreboard Sports Bar into a Pub.

I sure wish they would get rid of those "TSA inspection  " shower curtains with solid doors like her sister the Jewel has! :(

What you don't like the shower curtain making love to you while you shower?

Ok...I just broke out into a large laugh and scared my cat....who looked at me like I was crazy. Good one (but not so good for my cat ;) ) !! :D :D :D

  • 2 weeks later...

My husband and I just got off the revitalized Radiance of the Seas yesterday. Ship is gorgeous and looks brand new. We tried the new Samba Grill and it was excellent. On another night we ate dinner at Giovanni's Table and it was also excellent. I did not experience or notice any evidence of the former plumbing problems that have been frequently mentioned, but I obviously did not have an opportunity to observe every part of the ship. We had a corner aft junior suite on Deck 10 and did not hear any noise from the public area above it.

Thank you so much for your comments. May I trouble you to post what you have said here on my Radiance of the Seas.....Past - Present - Future

People are so very anxious to get information from folks just off the first cruises and I would like to contain all the comments, both good and bad, in one place for future reference.

You are very welcome. I just posted my comments on that thread, as well.
