geospyder Posted July 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2014 I know the Constellation is known as the Connie and the Millennium as the Millie...are there affectionate nicknames for any of the other Celebrity ships?
A1A Posted July 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2014 (edited) I have heard the Silhouette referred to as the "Silli" Why people insist on referring to ships with cute little affectionate names is beyond me. I don't get it, is this a Celebrity thing? I have never heard any Princess ships given a cute little abbreviated nickname? HAL? I feel better now! :D Thanks! simon stingray Posted July 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Well ever since coming across this picture... http://www.fotocommunity.de/pc/pc/display/26707150 We now always refer to the Equinox as the Poultrinox-the name really has stuck with us. We were also on the inaugural sailing of the Silhouette and someone on the roll call always referred to her as the Silly-wet.
miched Posted July 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2014 As with most subjects this has been covered and discussed in many other threads Never known why the Reefer 🚬 hasn't caught on for the Reflection? The only two that I have ever heard are Connie and Millie. The others really don't need nick names. Always reminds me of Gracie Allen she would say that her name is Grace but they call her Gracie for short. Iamthesea Posted July 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2014 We use Sillie because it is easier to write. ;)

C 2 C Posted July 6, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 6, 2014 I'm a Connieseur, Infinatic and a Reflectionado. Some people are known as Millennials but I'm closer to being a Centurion Eclipsions are blood elves. Summiteers abound at summits rather than ships. There are even Equinoxians, Solsticians. However, if the light is right, everyone can have a Silhouette.

phoenix_dream Posted July 6, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 6, 2014 We use Sillie because it is easier to write. ;) That's the same reason I use Millie - I can never remember how many M's are in the name:).

OCruisers Posted July 6, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Even when we called the old Celebrity Zenith the "Boom Boom" ship because there were often boom-boom sounds, it was meant with affection. Loved that ship. :) LuLu

dkjretired Posted July 7, 2014 #14 Share Posted July 7, 2014 The nicknames started on this board with Millennium and I truly believe it started because it was a pain in the butt to type whether you knew how to spell it or not.
