sailawayjack Posted July 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2014  Three cruise lines, one parent company. How about changing the rules and allow sail credits to be accrued on all three cruise lines to be earned and totaled on one account. After reaching Diamond on RCCL, I have taken (and scheduled) two Celebrity Cruises. I get no more earnings on Crown and Anchor for RCCL, and basically am starting to accrue points with Celeb, even though they will let me have Elite status as a courtesy. BUT--I am not helping myself if I want to achieve Diamond Plus. Anyone else like this idea??:cool:JACK IS SAILING AGAIN
Algebralovr Posted July 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2014 We all like the idea, but don't see it happening. Each brand is expected to show an independent profit so that the parent company shows a profit. Their goal mm is to get us all to sail more on all the lines! LOP Posted July 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2014 (edited) RCCL owns all three lines...Celebrity, Azamara, and RCI just to quantify and I do believe the points are combinable on Celebrity and Azamara, but unfortunately RCI is not included although you can enjoy the level across the lines...but yes I believe Diamond plus is only achievable by earning points on RCI. Perhaps with their new earning system they can figure out a way to combine earnings as we would see it as a plus as you do. RC would be forced to change the program and we all know how well those changes go over.
Rare hcat Posted July 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 24, 2014 I am not in favor of combining although we would spurt to the top fairly easily on two of them. Combining would crowd upper tiers which is why new levels were added.. Ques: If we are Elite Elite Plus on Celebrity, we know we get Diamond perks on Royal..what about Azamara ? It now has its own tiers sep from Celeb, correct.? We want to give them and Oceana a try now that Modern Luxury is being re-defined on X. We have 2 more booked on X but are open to other experiences...would be nice to preserve some status on Azamara unless everything is included anyhow. miched Posted July 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2014 I think this will happen when Carnival combines points with HAL, Princess and etc. All of the loyalty clubs have or are being changed because of the overload of memebers with too many points. Frequent fliers, casinos and etc have all made drastic changes over the years because of it. Cruise on 🍸🚢🇺🇸🌅

If you are elite + on Celebrity you are discoverer + on Azamara. Their points and levels are still joined. They talk about separating them in the future, but it has not happened yet. Unfortunately there is a discoverer + level on Azamara, but no special benefits other than what discoverer offers.
Cruise Junky Posted July 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2014 I think it's great that your status gets even recognized on the other lines. The Carnival lines certainly don't do that. I don't see anyway they're going to combine points, that would create a monster.
Big_G Posted July 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2014 I'm OK with the system as is. I'd hate to see a watered down program because people were accelerated to higher tiers.

waterbug123 Posted July 25, 2014 #14 Share Posted July 25, 2014 If you are elite + on Celebrity you are discoverer + on Azamara. Their points and levels are still joined. The question wasn't about reciprocal status; that exists between RC and X as well. It was about whether you can combine points earned on 2 different lines to total enough to have a higher status on one or the other. On another note: Keep in mind that it would be difficult to combine points on RC and X, as they are earned differently, with X awarding vastly different numbers of points depending on the cabin category booked. RC awards more for being in a suite, but it's not as complex as the new X system. Earning points on one compared to earning points on the other is a bit of an apples and oranges comparison and would be difficult to combine points unless the points-earning methods were changed to be exactly identical.
